  1. I don't see what could go wrong if one is honest to the judge and to themselves.
  2. Don't lie to the judge, that's all.
  3. They cannot break the law of Britain, but other than that they are free to judge according to Islam. Likewise, a Muslim needs to obey the laws of the land he is on, but only in the sense that he cannot do something prohibited by the law, while he can do something that isn't required by the law. As anyone in Britain can leave someone out of their testament or decide what to leave and to whom, Muslims can do this as well. If they choose to do as Islam requires, that's fine from the side of the Law in UK.
  4. Extraordinary how?
  5. It's a new virus. But what does that have to do. With "containing" it? You really think it's easy to contain an epidemic?
  6. Man can't contain what man has not created. China has done very well at "containing" it.
  7. Wasn't that the number that referred to those who have a full time contract?
  8. They're allowed to decide regarding their property?
  9. This thread is about the coronavirus rather. Not much to say about it for now in this context. It is not a laughing matter. Such as? We or you?
  10. Most articles say they died in a stampede. It was separately mentioned somewhere no one was burned to death. Quite impossible to tell what happened, but the impression I get from the articles compared to the version of@Goddess Is that they may not have been the same 14-15 girls who were bothered outside that died. But rather that with almost 800 people getting out, the disturbance slowing people down could have contributed to the casualties.
  11. The inaccuracies have already been mentioned. From the link I posted before: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/how-canadas-sex-assault-laws-violate-rape-victims/article14705289/ (article 6 years old) according to the best estimates, roughly 90 per cent of sexual assaults, even those referred to crisis lines, are never brought to the attention of the authorities ........... Ottawa's force, for example, dismissed about one-third of complaints from 2005 to 2009 as unfounded and laid charges in only about 16 per cent of cases. Tell me about how irrelevant this is, @WestCanMan
  12. Yes. I was only pondering if I need to say it.
  13. What is the meaning of this?
  14. Do you believe that?
  15. Never heard of it. Except from you.
  16. That was me and I don't consider it false because of one source that says different as my previous comment was also based on statistics and most statistics don't make any claim about it. What does your common sense tell you about the likeliness of people raped within marriage or relationship actually ever reporting it? In fact they frequently don't acknowledge it to be a rape at all. @Dialamah didn't even affirm what I said as such, but added other aquintances to the rapes within marriages and relationships. Nevertheless, people who talk so much about rape should have more understanding of sexual violence in the real world.
  17. You're sidestepping the point. Muslim women who take care to cover themselves outside, do not go by the windows without covering either if there is a chance someone will be able to see them. This is reasonable and common sense. It has nothing to do with the Taliban.
  18. I was surprised by the objections too. Thought I was stating something too obvious.
  19. Most statistics don't sperarate cases of rape by a partner, former partner and rape by a(n) (near) aquintance. Also, most rapes within marriage seem to go unreported, which only makes sense. This is what I could come up with now. https://www.acesdv.org/about-sexual-domestic-violence/sexual-violence-myths-misconceptions/ "MYTH: Most sexual assaults are committed by strangers. It’s not rape if the people involved knew each other. FACT: Most sexual assaults and rapes are committed by someone the victim knows. Among victims aged 18 to 29, two-thirds had a prior relationship with the offender. MYTH: Most sexual assaults occur between strangers. FACT: Most sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows: a neighbor, friend, acquaintance, co-worker, classmate, spouse, partner or ex-partner. Studies show that approximately 80% of women reporting sexual assaults knew their assailant." http://www.thisisnotaninvitationtorapeme.co.uk/ What percentage of rapes are carried out by partners or former partners? Correct! The answer is 54% https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1889186115000244 (The above site lists a lot of misconceptions about rapes and statistics of the realities. Additionally it points out the many negative consequences of those misconceptions.) "the majority of reported rape offences (280 cases, 70.7%) were committed by people known to the victim (e.g., domestic and acquaintance rapes)"
  20. Have I got something for you. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/how-canadas-sex-assault-laws-violate-rape-victims/article14705289/
  21. It isn't a legal code in the modern sense of course — which, again, if the fault of the church — but there are rules that the Christians usually don't like to talk about. Most of them prefer to pretend Jesus left them nothing but infinite forgiveness for whatever they might happen to do. I must agree with them that it is difficult, if not impossible, to take you seriously after babbling such nonsense. I have to also inform you that the majority of all rapes happen within a relationship or a marriage.
  22. I heard Japanese are not quaranteening them — at least not forcing that measure to be taken.
  23. If they're told to stay home they still s travel home. There's still a fine chance it will contaminate someone else
  24. If and when the Canadians in Wuhan are brought back, what should be done with those and the people who come into contact with them on the way?
