  1. Actually we should spin it like this, because of Canada and other Nato-deadbeats lack of financial commitment, NATO is in danger of failing. Not because trump is raising the alarm bell of what's happening.
  2. I wouldn't say that... Trump's pretty progressive actually. Obamacare was unsustainable even Bernie Sanders says it has flaws. He's trying to come up with a new healthcare plan because he knows Obamacare is un-affordable. but lets move this discussion to another thread before somebody accuse me of trolling and thread derailment. People are so sensitive these days.
  3. I'm not sure actually, a lot of the progressive views are actually in line with trump's populist views. They only really differ in that one is pro business the other is er...not so much. I'm a constitutionalist and whoever defends the democratic values I'm all good for. So far Bernie Sanders and Trump are really really similar in a lot of issue. Trump just gutted Obamacare because it was going to cost way too much. Of all people, Trump who is now trying to find more affordable healthcare for the poor. LOL
  4. We'll give 2 senators and about 30 house representative in exchange for acknowledging your fealty. With good behavior, a vote for the next president.
  5. Because we want to do free trade? That help lift mexico out of poverty? Sending american business there as well? Your argument is skewed.
  6. A recently released white house goverment report list 50 ways in which china seek to dominate the global economy with predatory trade practices. This is a very comprehensive list of their current trade practices and has been reviewed by the CIA and other intelligence analyst before being released. Another sign that this report is accurate is that the Chinese were initially denying the existence of Dr. Navarro and has now back tracked saying he does exist while trying to discredit him. Interestingly enough they've also gone through great lengths to cover up their Made in China 2025 initiative that they touted proudly a few years back. I encourage readers to read through the list and decide for them selves if they don't think free trade is a good idea. China's trade practices is the opposite of that, they're not only not free but are also extremely predatory, seeking to monopolize other countries' industry through unfair trade practices. Also attached is a lecture on the issue in case you want to just listen. The solution? Adopt free trade, fast. This is the real reason for Trump's tariffs. "OTMP outlines how China aggressively seeks to acquire American technology and intellectual property through multiple vectors including: physical and cyber theft, forced technology transfers, evading United States export controls, export restraints on raw materials, and investments in more than 600 high-technology assets in the United States worth close to $20 billion." https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/FINAL-China-Technology-Report-6.18.18-PDF.pdf
  7. Are you proposing that Canadian and American foreign policy are somehow different when it comes to defense? If by "location" you mean we're next to each other geographically wouldn't that make us in the literal sense be on the same boat? How do you deter aggression without having a credible military threat. Aggression comes in many different form and not just nuclear. You need the whole of government to deter aggression, economic, military etc...why short change yourself with only using soft power. I don't even know why Canadians consider themselves Canadians, you are all Americans already, except with a minor medical condition called American-allergy.
  8. If people can't take a joke then its a fine shame all around. Hence the snowflakes.
  9. That's true America doesn't mind stealing talented Canadian like The Weekend and Drake.
  10. Well yes, partly trolling but I was hoping the discussion would turn into the NATO Summit coming up this week. Anybody want to put their 2cent?
  11. So you have no valid argument is that your point? Look I'm not here to beat you up for it but I will attack ideas I see as unjust and illogical. Something liberal snowflakes love to bring up and not defend. The politician are the one that decides who goes to war, you me and everybody in the freeworld have the power to vote them in and out of office. But as my other post pointed out war is a failure of our politician to negotiate with one another on points of conflict. Having a strong Military and by associations strong MIC allows diplomats to negotiate from a position of strength. The MIC are not the root cause of conflict. They are only tools, like our military. If you don't have said tools then your chances to get into a conflict is that much more because now there is a weakeness for the adversary/competitor to exploit.
  12. I shudder at the useful idiots Russia finds. Ill respond to your other points once I finish fact checking and drawing up a conclusion.
  13. Anything but Russian News like RT, Sputnik etc...and the sources can't stem from Russian sources either.
  14. Once again you're making up make believe position that you think I stand for. I have been loud and clear, I support the military and their industrial complex. Not because there is financial gain to be had but because it gives the war fighter the tools to safe guard their lives and accomplish the mission. Your only position so far is to be wary of the Military industrial complex because they're evil capitalist? Because Eisenhower says so? What exactly is your position? Do you support the troops? If so how? Just pay them lip service? How do you intend to equip, train and deploy said troop without proper funding? Funding by definition has to be paid to the MIC. Troops need housing, tools, weapons, transportation all of whom are subcontractors to the military and are by definition now part of the MIC. How do you support the troops without supporting the MIC? You can't have your cake and eat it too. My point is stop using the MIC as an excuse to not fund your military.
  15. Good to know, can you respond to my post in the Democracy post, I look forward to a vigorous debate.
  16. Can you post this in the immigration post, I started one for this reason.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
  17. Glad to know where you stand when it comes to people defending you. Don't hide behind Eisenhower to loosely justify a lack of spending.
  18. Great question! So financially you're going to have to go into further deficit before you can make adjustment to other appropriation. That's the short answer. The long answer is Canada is going to need to encourage more business growth similar to what trump did with tax cut to stimulate the economy. De-regulate things that are holding back business creation. Cut back on public areas for welfare and other social programs etc... there's a long list of things to do but the main point is to encourage gdp growth. Cough adopt free trade cough...
  19. Answer the question, who are you going to pay to support the troops? Or are you only using eisenhower's name to justify the lack of spending for the military?
  20. He's going to be a Canadian Green Card Holder, He's not even allowed to be part of the NAFTA agreement. Only Canadian citizens. Who then have to get a green card in the US, which at the moment is also difficult. Why not just study in the US get a student visa and apply for sponsor ship with US company in the first place?
  21. So are you suggesting soldiers be require to learn all the necessary trade, skill and knowledge to be able to make their own equipment? What are you suggesting exactly? The MIC and the Military goes hand in hand. Unless you want to equip them with nothing but idealism. You're not addresing the point, if you want to talk about the ethics of giving preferential government contract to one company that's one thing but to not fund your MIC entirely is a whole different issue. One in which Canadians like your self seems to "conflate". Your troops needs tanks, ships, missiles, helicopters.... how are you going to provide that without paying somebody called the MIC???? Pay American MIC? who?
  22. the MIC supports the military, that was my point, how can you support one without the other?????????????????????????????????????????????? The MIC build equipment, provide training, logistical support etc etc...
  23. Could any Canadian member on this forum record their outrage and send it to me? I will die happy.
