  1. Read down the page and you find that 74% od rhose polled agree Khadr was a child soldier. The SC has long ago determined that, and that he was illegally imprisoned. So all your argument is about is the dollar value of the settlement. No one can say for sure whether the out of court settlement arrived at is more, or less than what would have been arrived at if the case went to trial. But anyone who knows anything about law would understand the legal costs would have soared.
  2. Indeed. If this case would have been heard in the open air of a proper court instead of under the control of the much maligned Gitmo military commission, we very likely wouldn't be having this discussion, and our taxpayers would be ahead a few million.
  3. Politically, who knows, we shall see. But your use of the term "payoff" undermines the credibility of you argument. Trudeau didn't create the circumstances that led to an ongoing court case, but settling it was probably a smart thing to do, and you try to make it sound like some sort of back room hi jinxs.
  4. You're struggling now. He didn't get compensation for engaging in terrorism. We know why, and I've explained it. You don't have to agree with the courts, that's your choice.
  5. He received money from having had his rights violated.
  6. Understand the law.
  7. Thy're your silly questions so I'll leave it to you to answer them.
  8. Quite simply because the civil suit was not heard by the SC so of course they didn't determine restitution. Duh!
  9. That's just another nonsense question. As I stated, they decided his rights had been denied, which adds support to his civil suit. Get a handle on the history here.
  10. No I think it has more to do with what the SC decided years ago with regard to Khadr's charter rights.
  11. What a weaselly way to dodge a question.
  12. They may be, but that doesn't stop the US from protecting it's own interests. The point is you have to have evidence, and the US does, and the emails coming to light now enforce it.
  13. It went to court, it didn't go to trial, which also saved the taxpayers millions. The US case would have gone nowhere.
  14. You could be right. There is precedent. But it's not so much on Trudeau as it is on Chretien and Harper.
  15. To clarify, he claimed Russian "patriots" may have been behind the hacks but claims they were not state backed.
  16. Maybe because Khadr spent 10 times the amount of time illegally detained.
  17. Except those charges against Khadr were dismissed
  18. Maybe they settled to save you 10 million.
  19. And had they not settled the case, the courts would likely have awarded the full amount.
  20. The law suit had nothing to do with the SC.
  21. Is that why Canadians keep voting them into power? Honestly, it's like a duck at a shooting gallery responding to you. Fun though. Quick question, are you a Trump fan too?
  22. Ever hears of the old adage "paranoia will destroy ya"? It seems you are well on the way. Take stock.
