  1. Background checks are already completed by various agency's including CSIS and RCMP. They are also interviewed at various levels. No system is going to be infallible but I doubt asking somebody if they have criminal intentions is going to be somehow more effective. I think a certain portion of this discussion is fueled more by a simple dislike of foreigners than it is a worry over security.
  2. We have one. Her name is Kellie Leitch and we really don't need her. I don't even think the CPC will decide they need her. But if they do JT will get re elected even if he stays on vacation.
  3. I wonder how she squares her strong support for Trump against having been the status of women minister.
  4. I'm suggested that any such series of questions could easily be outsmarted by the applicant regardless of their actual beliefs, if they really wanted to come to Canada. It seems to be the current screening system seems to be doing a better job than simply asking a few obvious questions.
  5. I guess throwing around those phony "yuuuge" numbers is an attempt to promote the fear factor.
  6. Criminal activity and terrorism reveals a lot about a persons values don't you think? I'd like to hear the Argus list of questions you would seek to ask to reveal these "values" you are after.
  7. We do under The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. We don't use the Kellie Leitch approach because we know it's a waste of time as it would reveal nothing.
  8. Your response was nothing more than a feeble attempt to refute what the article explained because you wish to hold onto your faulty views. Next time I'll see if I can find one with more pictures for you.
  9. I would say well beyond disgusting. Why would a woman be so disrespectful of other women? And so desperately ignorant to not comprehend the difference between agreeing to act in a porn movie, but not agreeing to be groped?
  10. Yeah too bad those Russians were able to swamp your system.
  11. Speaking of sycophants, are you sure you're not Canadian?
  12. So he's managed to rile a few feathers with some major corps. already. What happens when he actually takes office. Pass the popcorn. https://www.thestar.com/business/2017/01/03/trump-threatens-to-slap-taxes-on-general-motors-in-tweet.html
  13. Going great eh? So far he has managed to piss of GM. Apparently the little bug doesn't seem to know where their cars are actually made. And then of course he pissed off his own party trying to dump the ethics committee. Popcorn sales are gonna go through the roof I'm tellin' ya.
  14. It will be interesting to see how badly the GOP gets crushed during the Trump presidency. They seem to be headed that way right off the bat. I bet there are a lot of smiles around the DNC today.
  15. Apparently you didn't bother to read the article I posted which explained to you how our screening system works. What form of bliss are you seeking I wonder?
  16. The Democrats are in disarray? Ha ha ha. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/01/the-era-of-republican-overreach-begins/512087/
  17. I certainly don't dictate to Canadians, but I think in this issue the process that is already is in place is fulfilling what Canadians want with regard to the immigration process. And if we do need to upgrade it, it should not be done in some simplistic way that Leitch, or her followers would propose. Especially those who are obviously xenophobes.
  18. Perhaps it is your profound xenophobia which would which would create the very type of simple question period you have just described, and derail the whole immigration system for no valid reason and people who are fleeing a war zone would spend even more time in a refugee camp. That's not the Canadian way.
  19. I don't care, it isn't going to work. Do you expect a potential immigrant to sit in front of a visa officer or a UNHCR screener and say "I want to kill all Canadians who are not Muslim". I don't think so. The screening that occurs currently seems to be working just fine. Let Kellie Leitch go and continue her support for Trump. Birds of a feather.....
  20. Your question makes no sense.
  21. Because the idea of screening for values is stupid. Get it?
  22. Oh I think there are lots of fingerprints and have been for some time. http://myfox8.com/2017/01/02/us-officials-russian-digital-fingerprints-all-over-election-hacks/
  23. Maybe if she leaves Fox she can stop telling lies.
  24. Just wait until the shovels go in the ground building pipelines and we'll see about jobs. And flying a Cadillac all the way to India is just a little bit extravagant I would say. I've been there, they have shiny vehicles.
  25. I think it would certainly be a good start. I don't think you want an instructor weighing in with their particular opinion on individual values but rather to give a clear description of what our laws state. If a particular individual in the class concludes our charter and his/her values clash somehow, then they could consult further, perhaps with the instructor, maybe after class. at home with their family, or simply with themselves to come to a resolution that works within the framework of what has been explained to them.
