Are you really Trudeau?

http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/family-offers-‘sincere-apologies’-for-11-year-old-girl’s-false-hijab-cutting-story/ar-AAuPMrs?li=AAggFp5 The apology. Now it's Trudeau's turn. I expect tears.

I looked to see if I missed any topics started by Impact on any of the news items that he is outraged by now, but there are none? Seems he is only outraged by them now.
-
It could be true. Isn't Iran where they toss them off of rooftops?
-
The woman with them at the press conference was identified as a Muslim activist from Missisauga. I wonder how she found out about it all so fast?
-
Definitely misleading.
-
I don't know anything about that. Did he make a false police report about it?
-
Seems these hoaxes are a bit of a "thing" right now: http://torontosun.com/2017/09/16/never-forget-muslim-hate-crime-hoaxes/wcm/1d081b75-d0c1-4d32-aff1-79afe61ef330 This one happened in Sept, but I don't remember it from the news:

Fatah always nails it: http://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/fatah-a-hijabi-hoax-that-fooled-canada#comments Except I don't think this hoax "fooled Canada". It only fooled the politicians and Michael Hardner.
-
This "attack" was used by all those politicians to gain political points with their favourite minority group before the facts were in. Where was the press conference from Trudeau whent the Muslim guy molested 6 girls at a waterpark in Edmonton? Oh yeah, that was just "white girls" getting hurt and also - Who cares about Alberta?
-
They likely know the reason why the girl lied. Police would likely view that as "between the parents and child". It would be nice if we knew why she did it, but I don't think the police are obligated to tell that reason to the public, since the attack never happened.
-
Read the news articles. The police tweeted a description of the attacker hoping the public would recognize the individual and he would be caught right away. That's not unusual.
-
I thought so too - "Sadly, someone insulted me by cutting my hijab."

One of the things about religious cults is that they like to "instigate" persecution. It accomplishes several things - gets publicity for them, makes them appear to be victims so they get public sympathy and it also reinforces to its own followers that they are the "true" religion because, Look! The Devil is out to get us because he knows we are the right religion! Martyrdom is encouraged and when society takes no notice of a religious cult, they have to instigate it themselves. The JW's did this in the 30's and 40's - made spectacles of themselves during wartime so that they were attacked, tarred & feathered, beaten, mobbed, etc all over the US. It got their name out there, got sympathy, convinced the flock to stick with the religion because being persecuted means that they were the "one true religion." Koresh did similar with Waco.

The girl's brother is involved in the lie, too: http://www.metronews.ca/news/toronto/2018/01/12/man-cuts-hijab-off-young-girl-returns-to-attack-again.html I think it is a possibility that this whole thing was staged by adults, using the children knowing they would not get charged with anything if it was found out to be a lie. At first, I thought the girl could have a reason to lie - maybe she got caught taking off her hijab and didn't want to get into trouble, maybe she thought if she was attacked her parents would think it was too dangerous and let her go without it, maybe she damaged her own hijab accidently and didnt' want to get into trouble..... But why would both these children collaborate on the lie?
-
It seems that is the message Trudeau wants to push. First the debacle with Boyle and now this. You'd think he would wise up and not comment on things before they are investigated, but in his rush to defend all things Islam, he's looking more and more the fool.
-
Mostly I think it was just a little girl, desperate to ditch the hijab. Maybe she thought if she was attacked, her parents would think it was too dangerous to wear and let her go without one.
-
What would you do for 10 million?
-
I watched the YouTube of the press conference again at lunch. It's much more interesting when you know it was all based on lies.
-
Well, I guess when Trudeau said, "This is NOT Canada" he was correct. It wasn't.
-
Diversity is our strength.
-
This girl's mother said she has been in Canada for 20 years.
-
I wonder what the Islamic punishment is for bearing false witness. I'm guessing it's far worse that thinking the girl should publicly appologize.
-
We do have some idea of her family - she is 11 years old being forced to wear a hijab, with a mother who wears full face and body coverings. Religious fundies.
-
No. I said if I were her parent I would do that. I have done that when I was raising my kids. Stop exagerrating what is being said.
