Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
rotary replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
His The blog simply points out his spurious comments about the F 35. It didn't create them. Sorry to pull the rug out from under your man. -
Who will Trump pick for VP in 2016?

I prefer our system, which let's the voters do the job directly, and as mentioned, we get it done so as not to be continually mired in speeches and campaigns etc. -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time

I think Canadians may opt for American TV entertainment as there is of course more available due to the population differences. However for media I think we tend to get it from Canadian sources, simply because it is not trying to be entertainment also. Now, as to picking the head of state in America, perhaps you need a primer on the electoral college. -

I would say excruciatingly longer, and the costs, well, we reigned that in so super pacs can't buy and sell governments. Perhaps the fact Canadians consume foreign media as well as their own, is what Trudeau was referring to by saying Americans should learn more about the rest of the world. -

Granted the link here is only to a blog, but it highlights, and picks apart some quotes from the same guru on the current OP re: the F 35. http://the-mound-of-sound.blogspot.ca/2012/04/most-idiotic-journalist-in-canada.html -
Canadians FEAR Trump...Big Time

It's hard not to notice because the "process" seems to never end down there. It usually gets pretty boring due to that, but having a buffoon like Trump has perhaps attracted some attention from north of the border, however I think most of us are getting bored again. Maybe try the Canadian process-get r' done, and then get on with things. -

Many of the comments in this "article" would apply to a lot of Americans as well. Perhaps find someone a bit more literate and less biased than Mathew Fisher if you want to be taken seriously. -

I rather doubt that, but I will await your cites to support your comment. -

I think if you tried anything close to what Trump has displayed in Canada, you would be laughed off the stage. And once again, there is a lot of talk from the pundits that Trump/GOP objectives are strongly divergent. -

Lived and worked in Quebec for years. Some voters there wish to protect their French heritage. Never saw anything there approaching anything close to the nonsense we have seen from Trump. As I stated, I guess there are those who are "proud" of such things. -

Taking racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia seriously says something special about these GOP voters. -

What does that tell you about GOP voters? I know they hold out hope that this email thing will come to something that might hurt Hillary, but it's been out there for some time and seems pretty well dead in the water. As already mentioned, it seems the more "astute" in the party, (those with more control at least) are stick handling toward the brokered convention idea. But in the meantime, a bag of popcorn and a Trump campaign prattle are always good for a bit of mindless entertainment after a days work. -

The cases you have cited are all to do with things that came "out of the woodwork" to cause problems. Trump's activities certainly aren't in any way hidden, which is why I suspect the party is working behind the scenes to try and avoid him handing the dems. yet another mandate. -

Not sure how all that well known history applies to the current situation, do you have some clues as to criminal activity ongoing? But even without any indictments showing up, I see the GOP train heading for a serious wreck? -

Lesson learned then hopefully, eh. -

That would be some icing on the cake for a new dem. pres. -

Well I hope the GOP is actually following that strategy, instead of the one I have been hearing is going on behind the scenes. I'm not a great fan of Hillary's, but I suspect she'd love to face off against "the hair". -

I think there is a strong movement afoot within the party to make sure they end up with a brokered convention, at which Mitt Romney will emerge. No idea who he'll pick for a partner, but I suspect they know with Trump at the helm they would be doomed. -

That's what Harper used to harp on about too. Boy did he get a surprise eh. -

Um, using oil for lubrication has a quite a bit less environmental impact than burning it. -

Fixing What Harper Broke: A to-do list

I suggest not letting that wishful thinking get ahead of you. The country was so fed up with Harper, I'm sureTrudeau is good for at least one more term just from that alone. -

Legal weed generates a lot of tax revenue, just ask Washington state for example. Jailing people for smoking pot costs huge tax dollars. So does trying to jail people for imbibing in the worlds oldest profession. Legal injection sites save lives and a lot of money from healthcare. Education makes people employable so they can pay tax. The Prius has been affordable for years, although it is of course a hybrid. See what progressive ideas actually do? -

You may be in for a surprise when the stimulus spending actually kick starts the economy as has happened before, and Canadians happily re-elect the traditional leading party of Canada.
