  1. His first Hollywood appearance was the early 90's - Home Alone
  2. Based on what? We know about 0.000000001% of about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000001% of other planets.
  3. Yes, Trump did have some notoriety from his massive business failures in New Jersey, but I would say in the decade or more before becoming President most people knew him for his Hollywood fame.
  4. Please don't sign your letter proudly Canadian, because you do not represent the views of Canadians. You are trying to tear Canadians apart with what you might think are subtle accusations of others, but it is blindly clear where the hatred truly is.
  5. I not sure how quoting scripture can be considered non-respectful, especially in response to someone else quoting scripture. It appears the thread has disappeared into the moderator black hole so I cannot provide any more details.
  6. Denial of consent should always be the default. First there is the important issue of informed consent, and at 13 it is highly questionable how informed they can be to the multitude of consequences. More important however is the emotional manipulation. It is like the door to door vacuum salesman, and the cooling off period consumer protection agencies provide. Someone with great experience in manipulation is taking advantage of another at a vulnerable time. If we find it necessary to provide protection for adults spending a few dollars, we had better provide protection for a 13 year old and the consequences of having sex.
  7. I wouldn't matter if a million different experiments were performed, the fact is we are comparing it to countless variable parameters over the course of billions of years. Could you cite your source of trillions and trillions of different experiments being conducted, otherwise you are just making some eye-rolling claims.
  8. From the Fusion GPS transcripts leaked last week, and finally officially released today: “There were a lot of real estate deals where you couldn’t really tell who was buying the property, and sometimes properties would be bought and sold, and they would be bought for one price and sold for a loss shortly thereafter, and it really didn’t make sense to us.” No, that is not suggestive of money laundering. Just because Russian nationals were involved in many of the deals is pure coincidence.
  9. Oh yeah, I forgot, Trump is not a politician.
  10. So what are your exports? I love Vancouver island, but I don't remember much in the way of industry.
  11. Just trying to bring balance to the far, far, extreme right wing viewpoint we continually hear. We she does claim that the ultra-short mini-skirt and bare midriff she wants is what all the kids are wearing.
  12. I didn`t know Donald Trump was Muslim... I guess we learn something new every day.
  13. Yes, far bet it for a man of God to also be a fraud artist. They are all innocent, and never stole a cent in their lives. Dr. Dino is employed by God, receives no income, has no expenses and owns no property. How could they do that to the poor owner of Dinosaur Adventure Park. Please don't read the indictment, you might get a different view than one from his creationist supporters for he is but a poor victim of the state. It is not like he has a long history of running away from his debts.
  14. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. - 1 Corinthians 11:6
  15. I agree that biological maturity is one issue, but the far bigger issue in looking at statistics like infant mortality are the social-economic ones. One also has to remember that older women have other biological issues like chromosomal abnormalities to deal with. I am in no way advocating teenage pregnancy - women should only have children between the ages of 20-25*. *Yes, I am being facetious. My mother delivered at age 35&38, and my wife at age 31, 33 & 37.
  16. When he makes a claim about chemistry I agree, but that was not his claim.
  17. Why can't you understand that people decide to do things based on many reasons, or a combination of reasons. Your reasoning is not that of someone else. Why can't you understand that . .
  18. The problem is "forced". If I give my 11 year old daughter a dress to wear, am I "forcing" her? If I tell her to was something more conservative than a mini-skirt and bare midriff am I "forcing" her. Where do we draw the line? Why do you have problem with a hijab? What about this garment is so offensive to you? Do you go around telling Catholic fathers who give their 11 year daughters a cross to wear that they are being misogynistic?
  19. While I agree that 13 is biologically mature, they are not emotionally mature in our society; that is why they are not capable of giving consent. It is society that distinguishes us from animals, and why biological maturity is not enough. Adults can manipulate children (youth if you prefer), and get them to agree to something that is not in their best interest. That is why we have to distinguish between biological and emotional maturity. This is especially difficult when so many members of our society also want to keep children intellectually ignorant, assuming that if they don't understand human sexuality then they will be "innocent". We need to educate our youth, but we also need to protect them from those who would abuse them. In my opinion, any adult (ie. 18+) having sex with a 13 year old should be considered rape.
  20. Someone needs to provide a small bit of balance to the continual "leftist" and "liberal media" accusations that pervade the internet. You will notice that in this case, it was almost entirely right wing driven from the beginning. - Premature police reports - police are right wing - School administration calling media conference - administration is certainly right wing unlike the academics - Traditional Muslim family - most definitely right wing - 4 media microphones visible - two right wing (CTV, Global), one far right wing (680), one centrist (City Pulse) - net very right wing - Demands to punish an 11 year old for telling a lie - very right wing - Sympathy shown by Prime Minister for victim of police reported crime - left wing - Demands to apologize for showing human sympathy - right wing I would say overall this was a very right wing event
  21. Actually you are wrong there, there are many predictions that have been made by the theory of evolution that have been tested. Common ancestry in bacteria & viruses being a good example. You are right, proof is a concept applied to mathematics and not science.
  22. I am sorry our country is so full of right wing extremists looking for any excuse to promote their agenda of hate, that is truly sad. How's that?
  23. I guess that depends on what you mean by prosper. Yes white rulers living a lavish lifestyle on the backs of locals living in poverty is often considered prosperity by whites.
  24. James Tour is a well known chemist, specializing in nanotechnology. I am unaware that he won the nobel prize, could you cite your source for that? I never claimed to know more than him in his field. Besides not commenting on his field earlier, he made a ridiculous claim which also runs completely counter to his main claim as well. His general issue with macroevolution is that we do not have a very complete understanding, but then he goes on and makes the amateur claim that something is completely understood. Even bright minds make stupid mistakes, and that is a glaring example of one. You have no understanding of the scientific process. Science is not debated in blogs, it is a discipline based on peer review. His "challenge" only has meaning to non-scientists.
  25. I think you underestimate the number of Americans with a sense of delicious irony.
