And the new leader of the NDP is.... Thomas Mulcair
Boges replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I guess you're right. The opposition has a track record of blaming the Conservatives for things they have absolutely no evidence to support. -

Oh Noes!!!! Voting Investigation. If I was Brian Topp and I lewse I wouldn't concede, this is clearly a conspiracy to interfere with democracy. BTW just so you guise know, it doesn't matter who wins, this will be the story people talk about. NDP. -

Really? You know that if the Bloc had won 50+ seats like they had in the past they'd be the opposition. The truth is the NDP doesn't have national appeal. Their support is Quebec and a few select urban areas and that's pretty much it. The major battleground is Ontario and that'll always be a battle between the LPC and the CPC. -

And the fact less than 50% of eligible voters actually voting. If it's easy as punked says, there really is no excuse on a Saturday afternoon. I think the troubling thing for the NDP is that it seems that there are two distinct camps. People who want to work with the Liberals and those that think the NDP can win a government without help from the Liberals. That's a pretty significant difference of opinion. I'd imagine the Liberals would have similar difference among their ranks. -

Then why are they so delayed. If this goes to a fourth ballot they'll voting while watching hockey. That is if dippers like hockey. -

It also appears they're going to a third ballot. This party looks deeply divided. -
What did she do? This incident happened while she was walking through the airport and workers unprofessionally taunted her. They were disciplined, and all the workers walked off the job. BTW Evening Star would be pissed off at you characterizing a federal minister as a dominatrix.

You said something without any factual evidence to support it? I'm completely shocked! If you're going to Florida or Vegas it certainly cheaper to fly out of Buffalo but last week a small discount carrier out of Niagara Falls, New York suspended all travel because they couldn't pay their fuel bill leaving Canadians stranded during one of the busiest travel times of the year. http://www.thestar.com/business/article/1145469--direct-air-discount-airline-suspends-service-stranding-travellers?bn=1 You often get what you pay for, but to many it's worth the risk. I've never flown Westjet but I hear it's really good, If I ever flew inside Canada i'd use them, ditto with Porter out of the Downtown Toronto Island Airport.

Spartacus is a TV show in the spirit of the movie 300. Gratuitous violence and lots of sex but I still find time to care about the characters they portray. The show also makes you care about the antagonists. There was a cool moral dilemma Spartacus had to tackle when another Gladiator captured his arch-enemies pregnant wife but he refused to kill her because it was without honour. It's not everyone's cup of tea but if you liked 300 and Game of Thrones, I don't see how you wouldn't like Spartacus.

So baggage handlers went on a Wildcat strike today. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1150769--air-canada-ground-crews-stage-wildcat-strike-at-toronto-s-pearson-airport?bn=1 You know all these AC workers are looking for more money. How do the venture they'll get it when people stop flying AC because they don't trust that their flight will leave on time because of some sort of work action?

They formed a coalition? when? The NDP do hold the balance of power and might get the whole corporate tax cute thing reverses. The Liberals fate will be held on how they are willing to compromise because I think there will be things in this budget that will be unacceptable to the public.
-
Please cite examples in the 2011 election where the PC's brought any of those things into the public discourse. The PCs only got beat by popular vote to the Liberals by two percentage points. With ORNGE and the Liberals OLG plans as campaign fuel I doubt the Liberals would have as much luck this time around.

Danielle Smith's Wild Roses ERRR Tires
Boges replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Well if she's laughing about it too, they're laughing with her. If it was someone like Libby Davies like mentioned earlier someone wouldn't get away with this. But Danielle Smith is rather attractive so it works well for her. No bad news is good news. As hydraboss said earlier no one knew who she was before, now everyone knows her. -
Well Rob Ford tried to see if some under-performing libraries could be closed or at least have their hours cut, no one would hear anything about. Now 100% of them are closed.

I guess I just took exception to this post where you equate being a librarian to doctors and lawyers. There are post-graduate studies to being a PR flack or managing a Golf Course, Humber College has a comedy course even. There are very few jobs that are super-easy. I'm not even saying being a Librarian is cushy. I'm sure dyslexics like myself would find keep track of all that inventory very difficult. My issue is more to question if Toronto really needs 98 libraries. And are the concessions the city is asking for reasonable. Like any public service they want to ensure their staff can't be laid off. Something unheard of anywhere in the private sector.

I asked Black Dog that earlier. I guess it'd help if they knew how to read.

I just think this is a far more significant problem. BTW that Wine Tasting blast went over my head.

As opposed to this situation where we have evidence that a government organization was wasting bucket loads of taxpayer money on silly things like Motorcycles, doing real estate deals and buying Helicopters that were never supposed to be used to transport patients.
-
Still no evidence to support that theory a month in.
-
I don't know about that, people are doing a pretty good job acting all outraged in the Robo-call thread. Over 100 pages worth of it.

Something that doesn't require a Doctorate.

It's funny, when the Ford Bros wanted to close a few under performing Libraries or cut their hours a bit Margaret Atwood freaked. Where is she now that 100% of the libraries are closed 100% of the time?
