The McHarper Government? -
So the Sun posted an article about the land purchase rejection - which is fine.. except they also posted a picture of Ford's back yard. EDIT: The pic has been removed and replaced with a shot of Ford. Wow.

I agree. It would be the fiscally conservative thing to do. -
I thought Stintz was conservative.

Canada suffers from Dutch Disease

Actually, the situation gets worse as production goes up and costs remain externalized. So what we're seeing so far is the best case scenario. Give it 5-6 years and we may not have a manufacturing sector anymore. -
If it's not Harper, it's Greece, so Mulcair must be Greece. Greece is the new WMD.

Canada suffers from Dutch Disease

Was listening to Power and Politics last night, and it sounds like Mulcair is being vindicated. The point ultimately rests that a case of dutch disease exists. The degree of which is what is now to be determined. -

Just as an aside re: the opposition strategy. I think the best thing they can do is to continuously introduce a set of economic policy bills that they know will get passed in the house. This is a fundamentally better (and more long-term) strategy that could defeat the Tories than the existing wedge-issue game they are playing right now. It rids them of the divisive moniker and makes them look like better stewards of economic policy than the Conservatives.

I'm not sure if this belongs here, but it is about the oilsands. According to Joe Oliver, we'll be cleaning tail ponds so well WE'LL BE ABLE TO DRINK FROM THEM, so no need to enforce environmental regulation. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/story/2012/05/30/pol-mulcair-oilsands-alberta-trip.html

From a federal perspective I think Mulcair is actually pretty well balanced on the economy and social issues.
