Not at all. The decision to allow travel from foreign countries and not to screen incoming travellers at the airport was entirely a federal decision. The provinces don't control international transportation. Our government also advised Canadians not to wear masks, gave away tons of PPE to China and got back nothing, and it was our federal government that decided to opt for Chinese vaccines instead of American ones. Our PM also chose to promote BLM protests ahead of public safety, which completely undermined efforts to get people to take covid seriously, and he broke his own interprovincial travel guidelines, again undermining the seriousness of the outbreak. Oh, and he was also exposed for doing fake "social distancing" at press conferences, because the media gallery was all huddled under a single tent and none of them were wearing masks. Again, he treated covid like a prank on Canadians and he got busted. So we're right back to what I said: You completely failed to call out the federal gov't, which is entirely to blame for the majority of our covid deaths, and you're cherry picking individual provinces and acting like they're absolute villains. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. It's pathetic.
-
Dude, our federal government's attempt at 'fighting' covid was completely moronic for a year and you failed to comment. It's pretty bizarre for you to randomly pop off about Manitoba as if they're the main culprits in this country. That's like blaming the Mayor of Dusseldorf for the holocaust.
-
Isn't it weird that after all the fear mongering of 2020 and 2021, they actually underreported covid totals for a few days just before the 2021 election? Nothin to see here though folks....
-
The BC government underreported covid numbers just before the election as well. It was on the front page of the Vancouver Sun about a week ago.

1) No trade-off. Just a poor tactical decision: https://www.wsj.com/articles/who-abandoned-bagram-air-base-joe-biden-mark-milley-pentagon-afghanistan-taliban-kabul-11630096157 Dumb vs Dumber. The generals blame this on a decision [Biden's] to get down to ridiculously low troop numbers at that stage, which wasn't nearly enough to handle the situation. FWIW they didn't protect the embassy either. Seems like it was actually Biden that Milley should have been betraying instead of Trump. 2) the drone strike took place on Aug 29th. At that time they reported it as a successful strike against a terrorist: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/29/world/asia/us-drone-strike-evacuation.html They didn't fess up until the 17th or 18th of Sept: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-58604655

Not a bad point to make, but there were so many basic, strategic flaws this time around that it's hard to imagine a worse way of doing it. They gave the fortified airbase to the Talis and used the civilian airfield. They pulled out the military before the civilians. They did it during Afghanistan's military campaigning season just so that they could have the final send-off on 9/11. At every turn Biden was the Coyote and the Talis were the Roadrunner. Bombing civilians and then pretending that they were terrorists for two weeks doesn't seem the least bit out of place in that withdrawal. It was like the cherry on top. Most recruits fresh out of basic training would have handled this better than Gen. Milley did. Most kids in Poli Sci 101 would have drawn up a better withdrawal plan on a napkin than Biden did with 8 months of planning and his multi-million dollar defence staff. You almost have to wonder, was "Please, Mr Tali sir, don't massacre my unprotected civilians or our SIVs and their families" part of Biden's plan? If it was, would that make his plan better, or worse?
-
Military strength isn't the only factor though. Credibility and integrity are more important, and the US doesn't have any of that right now. Biden wasn't even able to stand up to the Taliban, they completely outsmarted him and his huge army. Then Biden killed a foreign aid worker and a bunch of children. The Afghan withdrawal was a mash-up of so many debacles that it's hard to say which one is the worst. Only carrion fowl would follow him into battle.

Trudeau's hand-wringing, virtue signaling holiday
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
? That's the most shallow, pathetic reason that I've ever seen for voting for a politician. He looks so human when he's funnelling gov't money through his propagandists at the We charity to his family. He looks so good creating laws for the slimiest criminal organizations in Canada, which have a court-documented history of paying bribes for government contracts. He looks so good blocking the police from investigating his scandals. He looks so good giving $61M in emergency money to select media outlets so that they can cover the federal election, and refusing to even tell anyone who they are. He looks so good pontificating to Canadians about their usage of fossil fuels, and then dedicating an entire jumbo jet to journalists so that they can follow him across the country on his election campaign. He looks so good using a Teddy Bear by a gravesite as a photo op. I'd be embarrassed AF if I had to admit to voting for Trudeau in 2015, but 2019? 2021? That's sickening. If he had Gerald Butts's face would you still vote for him? -
Trudeau's hand-wringing, virtue signaling holiday
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
He's made of billions of taxpayer dollars that went to media outlets. He could rape a conservative MP and the MSM here would say "All bitches want it". -
I said "if it's safe". I don't have covid right now, afaik.
-
I'm ok with that. I'll pay it myself if it's safe, it works, and I need it. Not even close. More like: "Two doses of 1) an experimental substance which 2) the media has lied about in several different ways [at least 5, maybe 10] 3) which is proven to not work in a lot of instances, 4) and is known to have a diminishing effectiveness over time 5) and may end up causing antibody dependant enhancement and 6) which has serious side-effects that the media and our local health experts are failing to report on (why did you all hear about serious cases of myocarditis and pericarditis among youths from me before you heard about it in the news?). I've heard too many lies about the vaccines to trust them. The fact that you were lied to might not bother you at all, I'm not one to suffer fools and liars.

Merck's new drug monotruflipovorn: https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/merck-covid19-pill-us-fda-deaths-1.6196007 The trial was done on high-risk people.
-
Not surprising. If you look at CTV & CNN's coverage of covid you'll find that more than just 98% of their content: is extremely hostile towards therapeutics and alternative covid-fighting measures is extremely biased politically ignores the experimental nature of the vaccines ignores dbl-vaxxed deaths and hospitalizations ignores vaxx side-effects intentionally hides the fact that 2/3 of covid deaths occur in less than 5% of the population (people over 80 years old) vastly exaggerates the danger of covid to people under 50 ignores the fact that vaxxed people still spread the disease overstates the (non-existent) case for vaxxing children. What I said is a pretty damning indictment of MSM's covid coverage if it's true. They're a thouroughly dishonest and unscrupulous bunch if that's the case, right? In what area would you say that I'm being inaccurate?
-
That's the best summary of the multitude of reasons for vaxx hesitancy that I've seen. I printed it, and saved it as a PDF, because that type of thing tends to disappear (get scrubbed) from Google searches. A year or 5 from now this could be proven very prophetic, or the author could keep on editing the original version to keep up with the times, or even delete it.

Trudeau's hand-wringing, virtue signaling holiday
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I saw the best meme ever on the weekend. It was the photo of Trudeau milking crocodile tears with his Teddy Bear photoshopped onto a surfboard. Photoshop can retire now, it has fulfilled it's ultimate duty to mankind. -
OMG you found a video with some politically bigoted drivel in it, which you believe. Shocker. Is that honestly what you think being conservative means or are you playing stupid? Do you understand that what you're saying implies that being conservative means that you're racist? Do you understand that falsely ascribing a negative character trait to an entire group of people is the exact definition of bigotry? The fact that you're saying that people are racist simply by being conservative means that you are an actual bigot. Can you show some examples of O'Toole, Scheer or Harper telling serious lies or getting caught in a breach of ethics? I can talk about Trudeau's lies, deceit, cheating and Machiavellian tactics all day. I'm not sure what you thought you were achieving with that post, but you opened a debate where you were instantly hoisted on your own petard, and you re-emphasized the point that you're a bigot. Please, carry on.

Trump lost the election, but the integrity of the 2020 election was highly questionable for a developed western nation. Just the fact that CNN was already calling the election completely legitimate at 10PM on election night should raise red flags for you, because they spent all of 2017, 2018, 2019 and the first 10 months of 2020 saying that the 2016 election was illegitimate. How did they suddenly become believers in the 2020 election in advance? How did they know on Jan 6th that the election wasn't stolen? Weird, hey? From another post to you: Dr Ford story was leftist BS that was only fit for leftist moron consumption. Ditto for Russian collusion, Rayshard Brooks, whipgate, the Jan 6th apocalypse, the Afghan withdrawal success story, Trudeau's We Scandal coverage, the SNC scandal coverage, covid, BLM, Biden's sanity, "the laptop is Russian disinformation", etc, etc. That's just a start. You can name any major story of the last 4 years and I'll tell you just how misinformed you are if you watched CNN, CTV or CBC.
-
I already answered this question once for you. Go look, I'm not writing that post again. All you have to know is that the MSM has zero credibility. You can find out if a plane crashed by watching MSM, but I can tell you in advance, it wasn't Trump's fault. Lol. This is just a BS-free zone. You can say the things that you want to say in a leftist echo chamber but you'll be made fun of here. You're just coming to the game a bit late dude. I've got over 7,000 posts here and most of them poke holes in MSM BS. I can't re-hash all of that for you. Briefly: Dr Ford story was leftist BS that was only fit for leftist moron consumption. Ditto for Russian collusion, Rayshard Brooks, whipgate, the Jan 6th apocalypse, the Afghan withdrawal success story, Trudeau's We Scandal coverage, the SNC scandal coverage, covid, BLM, Biden's sanity, "the laptop is Russian disinformation", etc, etc. Anyone who watched more than ten minutes of any of that coverage on MSM has brain damage now. Already covered it in another post that was directed at you. I'm not defending anything. I'm telling you something. Of course I recognize the fact that Fox is biased, the reason that I watch them is because they're not lying.

Trudeau's hand-wringing, virtue signaling holiday
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
When residential schools started, every school in Canada was run by catholics. (I never thought about this before, but my paternal grandmother was probably one of the first atheists to ever teach in Canada. I don't know how she became an atheist, because her father was a Mason.) You can diss catholics all you want, but this entire society comes directly from Judeo-Christian values and beliefs and it's one of the freest, most inclusive societies in the history of the world. Catholicism wasn't perfect, but it allowed us to get to the point where we're at. FN people are a part of this society because of residential schools. If not for those, you'd have no way of communicating with them. All of the FN people that you consider to be your friends now would be complete strangers to you if not for res schools (conversely, if you're native, then you wouldn't know anyone from any other race or culture). I totally get that a lot res schools were an abomination on the inside, but I actually believe that there were also a lot of good people in them trying to help. If you think about it, most people who choose child care as a profession aren't 'evil'. The current narrative that we're hearing is too one-sided, too unbelievable, too loaded with misleading innuendo, and too devoid of historical knowledge and understanding. We all know that there's not a culture that's exclusively loaded with decent people, or evil people. You'll find great people who are muslims living in Pakistan and you'll find evil people who are Buddhists living in Japan. That's life. In all honesty, the 'res school narrative' is crap. I get that we need to be understanding and empathetic, and reparations are definitely in order for the people who were harmed in them, but we don't need to rewrite history with falsehoods, dark innuendo and we can't act like everyone who worked in res schools was an orc. I know that reparations won't heal anything, but I do think that they're necessary and that they might help to stop the damage from passing down through the generations. -
I hope that you stay safe from covid. I'm glad that you're dbl-vaxxed. Personally, I'm hoping to hold out long enough to get the Medicago vaxx because I'm old skool, but I feel like Charlie Brown waiting for Lucy to hold the ball still. I hope that you take vitamins, get a healthy amount of exercise and don't overdo it, and that you sleep well. A vegan diet is really good for everyone, but especially elderly people. I highly recommend the movie "Forks Over Knives". If you can't eat vegan, switching away from red meat and eating less animal products in general is good (I still et meat though, and I'm 53, so I'm not practicing what I preach). But, the fact remains, this disease is tailor-made for killing old people, whether that's random or by design I can only guesstimate. The fear-mongering against young people is quite wrong imo. The vaccines are dangerous for young people, and they don't stop them from spreading covid anyways. Just my two cents.

Trudeau's hand-wringing, virtue signaling holiday
WestCanMan replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Before you start feeling that liberal surge of pride that comes with heaping scorn on others, just remember that it was a liberal mindset that provided the justification (one of the nastiest words in the vernacular) for residential schools. Leftists: "Whhhhoooaaaa! No Way! It had to be racism and religious bigotry!" (no doubt the latter was a factor, but racists wouldn't actually want FN people to get an education, would they? Doubtful) The exact type of people who think that an 8 yr-old child should be able to talk to a guidance counsellor at school and then inform their parents that they'll be getting a sex change operation are the ones who felt like it was an abomination for kids to grow up in stone-age homes without access to K-12. Rez schools were the only viable option 130 years ago. Setting up thousands of schools all across Canada's vast wilderness was definitely not an option in 1890. The system wasn't designed as an outlet for sexual predators, that was just a basic human failure that wasn't anticipated. FYI lots of kids were still getting raped by priests in Boston in 1980. You could argue that Boston is one of the most modern cities in the world. MIT and Harvard are there. People in North America didn't consider clergymen to be sexual predators back in 1980, and they didn't in 1890 either, for certain. Society didn't believe white boys in Boston in 1980 when they said that they were being molested. No one in society could have even heard of what was happening in remote rez schools back in 1890. Rez schools were set up with the best of intentions and they ended up being the worst of all hellholes. The leftist narrative that we hear today is just their typical bullshit. -
The stats are here in case you're interested in actual information: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1228632/number-covid-deaths-canada-by-age/ 17,393 people over 80 died of covid in Canada. FYI people over 80 account for less than 5% of the population, but there are twice as many deaths in their age bracket as there are in the 95% of the population that's younger than them. 5,603 people between 70-79 died of covid in Canada. Again, there were more deaths among 70-79 year-olds than in the entire rest of the population that's younger than them. 2,708 people died of covid between 60-69. Again, there were more deaths among 60-69 year-olds than in the entire rest of the population that's younger than them. 1,067 people between 50-59 died of covid here. Again, there were more deaths among 50-59 year-olds than in the entire rest of the population that's younger than them. That's quite significant, because people between 0-49 still make up more than half of the population. Only 629 people under 50 died of covid. It is more than a flu, but not much more. To be totally accurate: C19 is a gain-of-function virus which emanated from a BSL4 lab in Wuhan, which is 'like a pandemic in the 70+ age group' and a really bad flu in the 0-69 age group. Once you wrestle with that for a bit, just think really hard for a few minutes about what crazy conspiracy theories you could make from this.

OMGF, that's just pure lunacy like I've never even seen before. Not even MSNBC goes that far. You clearly don't even understand the role of government. I'm not breaking this down for you. Intentionally deceptive lol. Do you know what's deceptive? Claiming to be the party of "the $15/hr minimum wage and helping America's poor" while you're actually opening the border to millions of people who will work under the table and then compete with poor people for low income housing. Rich people like Nancy Pelosi will benefit greatly from having a wave of destitute immigrants pour into the country to live as 2nd class citizens, the inner city stooges who voted for her will be the ones who have to live in the increased level of squalor that results from her deception and incompetence. Now you have absolutely no clue whatsoever what democracy is lol. Where do you get your ideas from? At the exact same time that you were writing this, the Dems were dragging Synema and Mancin through the mud FOR ACTING WITH INTEGRITY, ON BEHALF OF THEIR CONSTITUENTS, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THEIR DEMOCRACY! The Dems' belief that every Dem Senator has to do what Joe Biden tells them to do is the exact opposite of democracy. Pelosi and Biden actually planned to go into a sesssion which would go for minutes, hours, or days if that's what it took to bend Mancin to their will. That's a pretty scary tactic. Trudeau has the exact same attitude in Canada. Members of his cabinet an Liberal MPs have no choice but to vote in lock step with them or they get booted from the party. That's just abject stupidity right there. The KKK were an actual militia of the demonrats just like Antifa and BLM are today (in a less official capacity). The Nazis were socialists. Look at what the socialists in Venezuela have resorted to. Government using guns to kill civilians. You know what happens in communist countries, right? Do you think that communism is right wing too? The whole left is one big stupid mob ffs. They say thousands of idiotic things and then just say "you're a racist/sexist/etc" if you disagree. You did it earlier. You're an actual political bigot.
-
I've cited hundreds of examples of the leftist MSM being fake here. It's a proven fact now. The MSM is, at best, drivel for idiots. I know exactly what you said, maybe it didn't mean what you thought it did. Of course "this" refers to this site. Don't confuse this with the "Trudeau is dreamy" FB site where you can post leftist drivel and it will stand as 'established facts'. I was guessing at your age based on your willingness to soak up blatantly false propaganda. That was a ridiculous jumble of tired CNN commentary. Fox News is a mixture of news coverage (Brett Baier is the best anchor in America right now) and political commentary (Carlson, Perrino, Watters, Hannity, etc). Of course you laugh at Hannity, but if you go back and look at his coverage of Russian collusion you'll find it quite prophetic, compared to the drivel at CNN and MSNBC which was and still is pathetic (99% lies and innuendo). Hannity predicted all the firings and demotions in the FBI, and he laid out the connections to Hillary years ago. It was just a couple of weeks ago that a lawyer from Perkins Coie was charged criminally for his part in it (ie, the things that he did at Hillary's behest which were crimes. He's the fall guy). I don't remember John Stewart's mock news program. I don't watch late night TV. If you watch CTV and CNN and think that's real news, I'm sorry, but you're doing the exact same thing that complete idiots do. Make of that what you will. Now you're warming up. CTV, CBC, CNN and Fox all have a news hour, and each one of their news hours is anywhere from "mildly biased" to "completely biased to the point of being outright lies". CTV, CBC and CNN are on the extreme edge of 'outright lying'. When they are good? FFS, leftist reporters stand in front of burning buildings and say "The riots were mostly peaceful". Anyone who can watch that more than once and still think it's an example of "reporting the news" is an idiot.
