  1. Exactly. He was just hoisted on his own petard. I dont think this will get people to admit that they feel duped, but this will be the cause for massive voter apathy imo. A lot of people who were charged up to vote for their knight in shining armour are no longer all that interested. They might feel like they’re going to vote but when it comes time they’ll be busier doing other things.
  2. I love The Five. I watch that show or at least part of it every day. Gutfeld, Watters, Perrino, Compagna, Bongino... all brilliant. Geraldo is actually a really smart, fair person as well, probably the most respectable Dem in the US. He's not on the Five very much though, he's probably on Hannity more but I don't watch much of Hannity. I'd stack those people up against the top 20 talking heads on CNN and it still wouldn't be a fair fight. Hell Trey Gowdy could take on 20 of those tools by himself.
  3. This is Canada day for me - the day that Trudeau's political career came to a screeching halt. If I didn't have to coach today I'd have been celebrating for the last 3 hours. I'm afraid that when I wake up tomorrow this will all have been a dream, and the polls will still show the CPC only up by 1%.
  4. Yes, I do think that blackface wouldn't be as big of a deal if it wasn't for the history of racism and slavery in North America, and by that I mean the US. I don't think that dressing as Harry Belafonte and singing one of his songs would be a big deal if it wasn't for that period of time. Guys dress up as women and it's not a big deal. Women dress up as men and it's not a big deal. The fact that that bad history of racism and slavery is what makes it a big deal imo. FWIW I don't think any more of Obama than I do of Trudeau, but that's a whole other topic.
  5. Can we get into the specifics of what these lies are? Every time I hear about Trump's lies it's always the same old examples which are incorrect and meaningless even if they were true. I've also seen lots of examples where Trump has come out and said things that people thought were lies which turned out to be true with the benefit of hindsight. Honestly, I hear about his lying so much and the examples are so weak or misleading that I've started to tune them out. I'll be all ears if you have some worthwhile and accurate examples. And one more thing about the people who call him a liar - they are actual, bona-fide, serial, pathological liars. The people who pimped collusion, obstruction, Dr Ford's story, and who still won't let those things go are in absolutely no position to be taken seriously. They have the credibility of a snake dressed up as granny. Even little dumb-ass riding hood is tuning them out. On the topic of "election promises" he's all that he said he'd be, and that's the true test of his track record imo. If someone says that they're going to do 8 things and they do 6, and try their level best to accomplish the other two, I'd have a hard time calling them a liar because the proof is in the pudding. No one says "The proof is in CNN's broadcast" lol.
  6. Our culture and our news media is so heavily influenced by and inundated with American culture that talking about Canadian politics without making references to the US is like separating siamese twins sometimes (is that an offensive/derogatory term now?). There are lots of relevant comparables there for us to allude and to for our comparisons to be understood. If I compared Trudeau to the Premier of PEI nobody would have a clue wth I was talking about. If I compare him to Hillary people would make the connection instantly. Sure we don't have the same history with African discrimination that the US does but we don't just conveniently separate ourselves from America and then call them brothers on a topic-by-topic basis. The issue of slavery isn't as big here but we aren't off on a island where we can pretend that people of African descent here are ignorant to it or unaffected by the topic. Wearing blackface here is pretty much as bad as it is there, but I'm personally not into painting everyone who does something with the same brush. IE, I was ok with Trudeau being naive, stupid and wearing blackface. I'm not ok with "acting like an ape" blackface at all. By Canadian values alone, "acting like an ape wearing blackface" is indefensible and inexcusable. Not even diehard Libs will back him on that if it's true. I'll be surprised if the talk of resignation isn't front-and-center.
  7. Courting the rich and powerful isn't the same as betraying the electorate and anyone who says otherwise is just living in fantasyland. Captains of industry aren't stuck in Canada or the US. Those people can take their assets and the jobs that go along with them elsewhere. Then the Maduros and Sanders of the world are left trying to feed the stooges who voted for them with empty promises. Trudeau's as far left as a politician can be without crossing over to outright socialism. He's just a nasty-ass capitalist/populist/protectionist/nationalist as far as Quebec is concerned. If Amazon wanted to open up a mega-warehouse in Alberta and they asked for two scoops of ice-cream Trudeau would tell them to go to hell. If they wanted to open up a small post office in Mtl and they asked for underage hookers & blow there's a good chance that it would mysteriously get done.
  8. The Dems are divisive, hateful people. You can join my club.
  9. OMG now Trudeau's not on the left? Just like that, he got voted off the island retroactively? LMAO! Sorry, he was the poster boy for the left. Universally adored by the vast majority of leftists here and abroad. Now he's exposed (if true) as the slime that I've been calling him all along. I've called him (and the Dems and Libs) divisive dozens of times here.
  10. That comment belongs in the Trump thread, but fwiw no one defends Trump's actual shortcomings. Just against the unsubstantiated accusations. If any of the accusations against Trudeau are false I'll be certain not to continue to refer to them as if they're true, like we commonly see Dem supporters do when they attack Trump. I'm not a liar and I don't need false or unsubstantiated stories to go after Trudeau - the truth provides plenty of ammo.
  11. Huh? I'm not defending Libs here... Not sure who you're replying to.
  12. Like, for example, he got away with what? And this needs to be on the topic of racism or this could be considered "thread drift". I shouldn't have included Clinton on that specific list.
  13. Name me a Republican/Conservative with a track record like Sen. Byrd, Bill Clinton, Ilhan Omar, or Trudeau (if the video story is true) who's still in office, and held in high regard, or your point is entirely a farce.
  14. If that's real, IE if Trudeau really was impersonating a black person while acting like an ape, and not just wearing an ape costume and acting like an ape, then he is a scumbag/loser and his political career just officially hit the skids. The author of the article didn't leave any grey area: It says that he's wearing clothes too, so that mostly rules out the "ape costume" angle. Seeing as there's no margin for error, such as an "if confirmed" clause (and it actually already says that the Liberal Party confirmed it), and this turns out to be "an honest error" (like a NYT-style fake news article that's subject to a cutesy little retraction at a later date, on p3 or lower), then that paper needs to do a FRONT PAGE apology, all in bold letters, and one or more editors and the writer NEED TO BE fired. The Sun is one of very few non-leftist news sources out there and I'm not going to be happy to see them slide down to the level of a Lib rag/news show.
  15. It depends on what party you're in. The Libs/Dems will allow their star candidates, like Trudeau, Bill Clinton, Senator Byrd (lol) and Ilhan Omar, to get away with all kinds of racism or abuse. They just like to make examples of lower-level members like Al Franken to maintain the illusion of integrity.
  16. I personally don't think it's a huge deal. I don't think that the intention to be racist or mean in any way was there, and I really doubt that he knew it would be so offensive or hurtful to people. Did people get mad when the movie "white chicks" came out? Do white people get upset when black girls dye their hair blonde? I personally just don't think skin colour is a big deal. I do get that other people are upset by it, and it would be horrible if Trudeau acted like a criminal or a lesser person in some way while he was dressed up, but this wouldn't affect my vote at all. I'd be more concerned about the age of the woman/girl he's holding there. If that's a student, that's a scandal. I can see this having a huge effect on the election though. Even if this isn't enough to change people's votes, it's enough to let a whole bunch of voter apathy creep into the picture. It also stacks up with his treatment of Raybould and Philpot, in diminishing his knight in shining armour brand. That's officially toast now. When Lib voters get the chance to drive down, get in line, and cast a ballot, or have a shower and take their kids to sports or go to dinner with friends, the fact that they don't have the same level of resolve to vote for Trudeau will be front and center. The CPC voters will not be experiencing voter apathy. At all. Hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin for Trudeau's election chances.
  17. Trump's "lying" is way overstated. CNN will have you believe that he lies every time he opens his mouth but that's just their job. They work for the DNC. CNN pushes the DNC's Russian collusion story until Sisyphus feels sorry for them and then they push it some more. Then they throw in obstruction of justice for a while and go back to pushing collusion. Do they ever stop to think that Hillary $$$$ --> Fusion GPS $$$ --> Christopher Steele $$ --> Russian agents compiling a fake dossier $, was collusion? If they caught Trump paying a lawyer to pay a British agent to pay some Russians they'd scream "EUREKA!" When did CNN call Adam Schiff a liar? Never, because he says all the same things that they do when they know that they're lying as well. When was the last time that you ever heard CNN say that Bernie was a hypocrite with 3 houses and a boatload of horrible ideas? My dog knows that and he's a Jack Russell Terrier, so his whole head fits inside of a normal person's brain 3 times. It should honestly be a really big deal to call someone a liar when you know that they're not. CNN and Liberals in general throw around serious accusations like it's an awesome thing to do. Here's a perfect example of CNN telling two lies and yet acting like Trump is the liar: Trump says "my inauguration is bigger!" He didn't have exact numbers, he based his assumption on transit ridership that day. So, even if he was wrong, he didn't tell a lie. He was just wrong, about something completely inconsequential, and there's a huge difference between being wrong and lying. When CNN called him a liar they were actually lying themselves, but then they lied again. They used a photo from before Trump's inauguration was fully underway and compared it to Obama's inauguration when it was at it's peak, saying that it was proof of how much bigger Obama's inauguration was. There was another lie told about his inauguration but it didn't get quite as much infamy as the inauguration size fable. It was "Trump said that it didn't rain during his inauguration speech but look at this picture of Melania holding an umbrella for him!" Truth is that anyone can watch his entire inauguration speech in hi def on youtube, and you can clearly see that he didn't get rained on. AT ALL. It was raining in 10,000 other places on earth just like it is every single second of the day, but it didn't rain there. So that time Trump actually told the straight up truth but he was still called a liar. So, in short, Trump wasn't even President for 24 hours yet and there were 3 big lies being put forward by the MSM which were falsely accusing Trump of being a liar. That set the tone for his whole Presidency. Millions of morons will still quote those two two "lies" when you ask them for proof of Trump's lies. The real deal, where the rubber hits the road, is whether or not Trump is living up to his campaign promises. That's the actual contract that he has with the people who voted for him. And despite immense opposition, Trump has done an incredible job of doing what he said that he would do.
  18. Are you saying that you think Trump ran for President with the "Fake News" slogan? I don't think he had a problem with fake news at the beginning of his campaign. IMO he had a problem with his own crass, boorish comments that probably should have run him off the ballot. The one about Meghan Kelly bleeding from her eyeballs and whatever was just atrocious but there were many more. If CNN would have put more focus on the actual things that came out of his mouth instead of being a hypocrite about his affairs (they let Bill off the hook, completely) and then lying about things that he didn't actually say or do, then they probably could have accomplished their mission. And make no mistake, CNN has been on a mission from day 1.
  19. In this day and age, with so many people having access to so much information, it's really easy to catch up on companies like the NYT when they put out a fake news article. It's no big deal for them. They can do a big front page smear and then a small-print retraction a few pages back a couple of days later. Somehow it keeps the narrative going for them even when they're caught in a lie. Two years of "collusion", the Kavanaugh story and now Kavanaugh 2.0, obstruction, etc, etc. For some reason people still buy their paper just like they keep tuning in to CNN. Here's the thing though. 20 years ago almost no one could fact check most of this stuff. Whatever the NYT belched out, the rest of the MSM gobbled up. We all just thought "that's the news" and got on with our lives. Was their track record always such a huge joke? Have they just been BS'ing at this rate for this whole time and just got busted half as often? Would Kavanaugh have been borked if this most recent joke had happened 20 yrs ago?
  20. The carbon tax is just another cash grab. The Liberals spend like fools so they have to start selling marijuana and taxing everything in sight just to keep the deficit to a casual $15B. Most of the money that goes into carbon tax is wasted on the bureaucracy to collect it and manage it.
  21. They have released lots of plans. Even environmental plans Abies. They wouldn't do their best to destroy our resource sector, they wouldn't run up $60B in debt, Scheer wouldn't call the Japanese PM Chinese twice, he wouldn't invite a terrorist to dinner in India and then blame India, he wouldn't kick bitches out of his caucus just for having integrity, he wouldn't criticize the former PM for the number of staff he has and then hire 3 nannies, he doesn't pontificate about misogyny and then say that the broad he groped "just remembers it differently", wouldn't publicly admire China's basic dictatorship, etc.
  22. Wrong. Our economy is riding on the coattails of the US economy as always. Trudeau's real contribution to our economy will be felt when we eventually have to cut back on social services because we are too far in debt. Harper's "big" scandal was "who paid back the $90K for Duffy?" In the end it turned out to not be a scandal at all. Trudeau: 5 ethics investigations (scandals) with 2 actual ethics breaches Harper: 1 fake scandal, zero actual ethics breaches. You've been hoisted on your own petard son. edit to add: Don't forget this part: Libs here are all over the Trump obstruction of justice story even though it turns out that there never was any evidence of a crime. Trudeau has already been found guilty of an ethics breach, and he's openly obstructing justice on the case.
  23. Insanity. You could add another $1.4B to their election spending-spree totals for the money that they gave to the CBC ($795M) and "select" media outlets ($600M).
  24. Just out of curiosity, what are the greater evils that you see in the other parties?
  25. All extremely good points imo. I hate to elevate #5 above the rest because they’re all huge, but #5 is the crux of the election. The best chance that we have of getting a fair election is if the candidates have actual debates so that Trudeau’s failures have to pass the light of day test. Trudeau will get to debate with a moderator who only lobs him softball questions, who lets him constantly interrupt people with accusations instead of legitimate counterpoints, who lets him give answers that are completely off-topic, who puts undue focus on minor details which look bad for opposition leaders, and who quickly moves the discussions away from topics that are rightfully damaging to the PMs brand. SNC and the despicable treatment of JWR will get no more airtime than the fact that one of Scheer’s candidates said “fag” or something on social media back when he was in grade school.
