  1. Isn't missionary work always about assimilation?
  2. The request was not denied, but there wasn't one there until 4pm. With her racist tirade, she put the spotlight on herself.
  3. It didn't fit with reality. Sounding like a juvenile spouting 'white pride' slogans isn't very appealing in the Queen's representative.
  4. His disrespect was very clear. He besmirches 'the honour of the Crown'. The Queen will not be amused.
  5. Read the articles. This was the second place she dragged her son with chest pains, and demanded a white doctor. They told her one would be in at 4pm. Then she let lost it. Racism is racism.
  6. Yes this is really racism. What amazes me is that people who make a personal choice to openly practice racism get so upset when people identify it as racism. Either do it or don't do it, but don't do it and then deny it! Embrace your racism! Lol Aren't you the guy who said he harasses women wearing hijabs in shopping malls? BTW, they told her she could have a white doctor at 4pm. She didn't want to wait, and made a big scene.
  7. http://www.ancient-origins.net/news-history-archaeology/24000-year-old-butchered-bones-found-canada-change-known-history-north-021178 The history of the peoples of this land is still being discovered. 24,000 years is a very long time, but may not yet be the full story: Migrations were not likely limited to the Arctic. Regardless, it's obvious that Indigenous people are not 'immigrants' to Canada since Canada did not exist thousands of years ago. Indigenous Nations were and are sovereign nations. We live here by treaties, legal relationships with the original peoples of this land, who are allies of the Crown. Without our alliances with Indigenous Peoples, and their loyal and competent defense, Canada would not exist. In my opinion, GG David Johnson has revealed that he is not an adequate representative of the Queen in respect to her treaties and alliance with Indigenous Nations.
  8. You can. You can buy anything you want on the black market. Semis full of anything and everything, including booze, 'go missing' and are sold surreptitiously all the time. Most people prefer to buy legal, not stolen property. Most people would prefer to buy legal Marijuana too, as shown repeatedly in high percentages of people who would prefer it legalized. Once it is legal, police will be all over the illegal trade. Most people will prefer to buy legal for that reason. I'm not buying your arguments against legalization.
  9. When it's Treaty land never legally ceded, "private land" is disputed land. This is the situation with the Dakota Access Pipeline. One DAPL pipeline protest camp that was set up on "private" land 'owned' by the pipeline company was raided and demolished by pipeline security and police. Over 100 people were arrested, strip and cavity searched (!!) and kept in detention cages. Police laid 130+ misdemeanour charges, but only 2-3 were accepted by the state prosecutor. (Cavity searches for flimsy misdemeanor trespassing charges is highly suspect, and likely to be subject to lawsuits or criminal sexual assault charges against police.) The main camp, Oceti Sakowin (the real name for the seven council fires of the Sioux Nations) is also on unceded Treaty land, federally 'owned' by the Army Corps of Engineers. Last Sunday's sustained and violent attack on protesters - Water Protectors of the Sioux Nations and other Indigenous and non Indigenous people - occurred on a public highway through federal/Treaty land, blockaded by police. Hundreds were treated for hypothermia from police fire hoses in subfreezing temps, and wounds from rubber bullets, flash/concussion/stinger grenades, tear gas ... so-called "less lethal" weapons. Rubber bullets: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10211518796148147&id=1311501707 (Vanessa: retina detached, may lose sight in one eye) https://goo.gl/images/OjPhYv Sophia: Concussion grenade - a targeted hit exploded her forearm, may lose use of arm and hand. Also multiple rubber bullet wounds. Medics were hit with rubber bullets as they evac'd her. https://goo.gl/images/BQxa3Q Class Action lawsuit against police has been filed. https://www.nlg.org/water-protector-legal-collective-files-suit-for-excessive-force-against-peaceful-protesters/ Pipeline boring under Missouri River at Lake Oahe was legally suspended by Army Corp of Engineers, but known to be proceeding without authorization. Now you're up to date. #WaterIsLife Edit/add: SEE RFK Jr video above re the DAPL pipeline issue. John Bolenbaugh whistleblower video re whether oil companies 'cleanup' spills (not):
  10. I agree from a humanitarian perspective, but whoever is over there fighting against the rebels to keep Assad in power, to safeguard corporate oil rights, should be paying for resettling the refugees. Obviously they're just not killing enough of them. :/
  11. Those were white supremacist instigators. Try to stay on topic. Apologies, I don't know how to get rid of the formatting, and quitting and starting over didn't work either! http://www.usace.army.mil/Media/News-Releases/News-Release-Article-View/Article/1003593/statement-regarding-the-dakota-access-pipeline The Army has determined that additional discussion and analysis are warranted in light of the history of the Great Sioux Nation’s dispossessions of lands, the importance of Lake Oahe to the Tribe, our government-to-government relationship, and the statute governing easements through government property. ________ And ... RFK: The pipeline company is breaking the law:
  12. A halt to construction for further discussion. http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2016/11/14/breaking-army-corps-puts-dapl-construction-hold-pending-further-review-and-tribal "Citing historical injustices, environmental uncertainties and other factors, the U.S. Department of the Army is holding off on easements under the Missouri River for the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and halting construction pending further review. “The Army has determined that additional discussion and analysis are warranted in light of the history of the Great Sioux Nation’s dispossessions of lands, the importance of Lake Oahe to the Tribe, our government-to-government relationship, and the statute governing easements through government property,” the Army said in a joint statement with the U.S. Department of the Interior on Monday November 14. “While these discussions are ongoing, construction on or under Corps land bordering Lake Oahe cannot occur because the Army has not made a final decision on whether to grant an easement. The Army will work with the Tribe on a timeline that allows for robust discussion and analysis to be completed expeditiously." Success ... for now.
  13. The disbursements currently made to Indigenous Nations are, in theory, those negotiated by treaty in exchange for use of traditional lands, access to resources, etc. They are, again in theory, supposed to provide the same level of funding for education, health care, child welfare, senior care, etc. as for all Canadians. In reality, the payments are a drop in the bucket compared to Canada's unfulfilled legal treaty obligations, and the level of funding for (eg) Indigenous children's education, health and wellbeing is seldom consistent with that of other Canadian children. That funding is sometimes used to threaten the wellbeing of children further, to extort submission of communities to corporate demands for resource extraction (poisoning environments), etc. Imagine the outcry if our government threatened to withhold education funds from a municipality to force through a pipeline, etc. It wouldn't happen to us, but it does happen to Indigenous communities.
  14. I agree it was a dangerous move trying to silence the press, but I doubt the prosecutor will face any discipline for it. The lamestream press has silenced itself: They aren't even there.
  15. I don't have any sympathy for your 'white nation' ideology either.
  16. It would be impossible for the court to deny use of the word "Indians" when the courts are bound to enforce "The Indian Act" in Canada. It was a rather futile gesture.
  17. All vulnerable children in Canada are entitled to the same support. Withholding funds for children to force a community to support a gas pipeline would be pretty lowlife behaviour ... about normal for Canada's track record with Indigenous Nations. Starving children to force adults to 'sign zee paper' ... We've heard that story before: https://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2014/06/10/canada_starved_aboriginal_people_into_submission_goar.html I think instead, we should withhold Children's Aid funding from municipalities that fail to provide Nestle with free access to water for their bottled profit. Yep ... The way of the future in the TimG 'white nation'. Starve the children ... for profit!! Lot of potential there ... We could starve the old people! ... and the puppies too ... ! /sarcasm
  18. Why should they support the rest of the country? .
  19. #%!#@@$%&***?!!!
  20. Elaborate? and the matter will no longer be an issue for this year. Toronto can forfeit all future baseball games with the Cleveland Indians on principle. Everybody wins ! Cleveland wants to wuss out?
  21. I'm not sure it's a legal issue, but I think testing it in the courts is worthwhile ... to draw attention to the ignorance in continuing to use that name, mascot(?) and logo. At some point, the team may decide that the controversy is a distraction to their real purpose ... playing ball. That will be a good thing.
  22. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/british-columbia/bc-child-welfare-program-offer-to-first-nation-backfires-over-lng-ties/article21101169/?click=sf_globefb#dashboard/follows/ The Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs have returned a cheque to the province and have backed away from a proposed agreement on the pipeline after the B.C. Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation linked its LNG offer to continued funding for vulnerable children in the northern coastal community.
