  1. Wtf!!! Are you still harping on the fact that Khadr should face more charges? Stfu That's just stupid. A 10 year old Canadian kid who never wanted to be there, had no choice, has already spent 14 years in jail. You really need to get a hobby.
  2. Imo we never should have put our soldiers in harm's way for the US's wars-for-profit. "The subsequent invasion of Afghanistan by the United States and coalition troops in 2001 began a new phase in the history of Afghanistan, as many old resource projects were assessed again, and new ones were initiated.[24]" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghanistan
  3. Army Guy, the Supreme Court of Canada addresses cases brought before it. It doesn't take action by itself. And our justice system - courts - were not asked for an opinion either. He simply came home to finish out his sentence here. You have very clearly shown no regard for Omar Khadr's Charter rights. And the reason we're focusing on that is because he just got his settlement and it's in the news. He's already served his time for the rest of the crimes he plead guilty to. That's over. No, Canada is not going to charge a child for terrorism or treason. That's ridiculous. It's over. Get over it.
  4. Yes we know they were here, although "discovered" is the wrong word since there were many people already living here. Are you sure they left?
  5. Enjoy your retirement. We never should have been there. It was just a US scam to steal resources, uranium I believe, possibly a pipeline.
  6. In my world the USA should stop creating and arming terrorists as an excuse to invade other countries to steal their resources while scamming gullible people into thinking they are on some 'humanitarian' mission. It's just a big scam.
  7. How many people were ever convicted for any of the deaths of US and Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan? Who the hell ever gets convicted of murder in a war, especially when we invaded their country?! How many crimes did Omar already plead guilty to? Look it up. Canada has had to payout a number of people, because Canada violated their Charter rights. If you don't understand how important that is, get the fk out of the army because you don't even understand what we're paying you for.
  8. He did his time. Get over it.
  9. You are delusional.
  10. Nothing you can do about it now.
  11. No it doesn't. It's over. Get over it.
  12. You seem to be forgetting that his 'crimes' were already dealt with and he already did his time: 10 years in Gitmo without trial would count for 15-20 in our system, plus an 8 year sentence, he served 4 and is now released with supervision. Pretty much the equivalent of our 'life sentence' (25 years) in Canada. WTF MORE DO YOU WANT!!! Yes, let's not mention his family's other crimes because WHY THE FK WOULD YOU???!!! Are we now convicting people for other people's crimes too??!!! Welcome to Canadastan. Yes, human rights always come first no matter what the crime. Due process of law and a fair trial apply to everyone. And if you don't understand that, then you don't understand your service to the country, Army Guy. That's one of the freedoms you serve to protect!!!
  13. No, it's just sick. Only sociopaths think such sick sh!t is "clever".
  14. You're the one splitting hairs: Khadr was 10 when his father put him into AlQuaeda training camp.
  15. Not in your link. And not in this country or most countries.
  16. "If you knew dad was a terrorist, would you consider that a safe environment for children to be raised?" No I wouldn't. If the gov knew that when they were still here, why didn't they do something for the kids? Let me guess: They had pere Khadr under surveillance to see what they could learn, and didn't want to alert him?
  17. Not legally in Canada they don't. He chose to take a plea to get the hell out of Gitmo.
  18. It says 18. Some countries disagree (Sierra Leon), but internationally it's 18.
  19. Not when they were here, no.
  20. They were not here by then.
  21. None of that came to light until after Omar was captured.
  22. No. I know you are not sincere.
  23. They are child soldiers, not responsible for their actions because they have no free choice.
  24. I leave these things to karma. We have child soldiers in Canada, who were forced to do pretty heinous things. They were rescued and treated, not prosecuted, and came here as refugees. But a Canadian child forced into being a child soldier ... we let him rot in Gitmo for 10 years and be prosecuted ... the ONLY CHILD SOLDIER IN THE WORLD TO EVER BE CONVICTED. Shameful.
