I believe you are clearly displaying the picture that Harper and other conservatives are trying to project. But our system has numerous revenue sources and numerous expenditures. And these are always fluctuating. Harper created decreases for the intake of revenue to make himself look good!Now he wants Canadian citizens to make a sacrifice so he doesn't have to look bad! In other words he's asking Canadians to do with less so that him and his conservatives can stay in power while giving breaks to big corporations and other special interest groups. This guy is a terrible leader!And the conservatives are playing games with the future well being of all Canadians! WWWTT

This issue has bein big recently and for good reason! What really gets me is that the conservatives are saying the opposition are using this to just attack and critisize the government.And I guess the people who are sincerely concerned that their future may be in jeopardy have no business to ask any questions of their government! Aswell it is in my opinion that this government can not be trusted! If this government had actually tried to make serious cuts to all sectors,less essential departments like military,justice,corporate taxation,etc,etc, then they would appear more sincere. Theres an old saying if its not broken then don't try fixing it! WWWTT

How about supporting Pinochet,the fascist dictator from Chile responsible for the endless slaughter of thousands in his country? Actually I believe you ignored the other facts I have stated because you have never developed/rezoned any properties.Nor are you a contractor/service provider dependant upon municipal/provincial/federal regulations/standards,etc.Therefore you are unaware of how governments are making up new revenues. Aswell you are ignorant of the fact that various levels of government are bending their asses half backwards to creat new fees/penalties that are not immediately deemed taxes! I see you are entangled in some kind of fear. Why are you so fearfull of the political party that Canada needs right now that can help its citizens build a more prosperous country? If it was not for previous liberal/conservative governments our GDP would currently be 4th or 5th in the world right now! Things are currently very bad right now for a country that is as blessed as Canada! I guess fear is all that some people will ever believe? WWWTT

Does that include the Ontario HST and all the different services that are now subject to the provincial portion of the tax? What about the municipal taxes climbing faster than inflation?And all the other new fees being levied by all levels of government?After all the government has become very creative in creating new fees that are not being labelled with the boogey-man word "Taxes"(development,liscensing,certificates,etc,etc) Another flaw I found.Our wages/salaries are continuasly rising to keep up with inflation.We are all in higher tax brackets now as compared to 10 years ago.However our standard of living has not changed.In order to correct for inflation,the rate we pay must decrease. Nice try but I am not brainwashed to always believe in smoke and mirrors! WWWTT

Same would have happened if the cuts didn't go ahead and as deep! Only difference now is that the middle class or the consumer now is further burdened and will have less to further invest into the economy. By the way,consumer always trumps the large corporations! WWWTT

Wow where was this rational thinking when the conservatives were cutting taxes for the largest corporations?Or when the conservatives announced increased spending in the military?How about the new laws creating financial burdens on our justice system?Increased funding for incarceration?etc,etc,etc? Its a lot of fun reading some of the comments here on this thread! Automatically the conservatives take Harpers side stating that CPP can no longer sustain itself,if not now then maybe in 20 years. I guess Harper has got one freekin kick ass awesome crystal ball to see what Canadas GDP will be in the future say 20 years to know for sure that our GDP will be incapable to compensate for our expenditures including CPP. Personally if I had a kick ass crystal ball I would guess the numbers for the lotto max,maybe Harpers crystal ball only works for determining the gullability of his voters? WWWTT

Actually even with the high Canadian dollar,Canadians are still paying more than our American counterparts. If I keep reading comments like the one you replied too,I'm going to start asking these people to back up their claim with actual links! Otherwise these are just more fairy tails! WWWTT

Why are you questioning me about this? I only read this some where a couple of times.This seams to be common knowledge around here too since a few others have made similar comments.The exact dates vary by a couple years but there is a general ballpark figure that most agree upon. But I will say this.I do agree with you that many baby boomers think that they are the centre of the universe and that somehow their generation is special in some way.Some of them anyways.However this can be argued to be the case for any generation.I do not believe you can blame them for national debt. Actually from what I have read you guys are more concerned with the mechanics and practicality of such military devices.And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.Aswell your discusions are very civil and in depth.But not political,maybe there are political or could be some kind of political input or political connection directly or inderectly but it does not appear evident. Its in my opinion that there should be a topic heading specifically for military application or mechanics etc etc.And from seeing this thread grow I would not be suprised if it becomes a popular colum/topic/heading.
