Ya and I'll come back three years to this post and do a "I told you so" People have bein saying the liberals would go up in the next election since 2004.What happened? And that the NDP wouldn't go anywhere or just lose seats.What happened? I don't think the NDP will be losing support until AFTER they win a majority! WWWTT

From my experience if someone feels strongly that they have grounds for a lawsuit they usually procede with filing the paperwork.When they don't they usually talk big and threaten too WWWTT

When did I say they would do that? What I mean by "sitting mp" is an mp sitting in the house of commons! Threat of lawsuit means weekness.In other words McKay feels threatened and vunerable and feels the opposition is harming the reputation of the conservatives eroding support! Don't respond to this comment telling me that he can sue over comments made outside the house McKay would have to prove that comments are untrue or false if mps made the comments outside the house. Aswell I do not believe that the opposition will be pushed into a corner and may come back and say "Ok lets go to court and go ahead try to prove it" WWWTT

Brian Mullrooney sued or threatened to sue in the mid 90's However after there was another inquirey into the case(post 08) it appears that the Liberals at the time should have called his bluff. The same could happen now aswell. I wouldn't be suprised to see a disciplined tactic to attack McKay in the house to push his buttons. The threat of lawsuit shows weekness as far as I'm concerned WWWTT

Ya I wouldn't hold your breath. The law clearly states that a sitting MP can not be sued for slander. Since 2008 there was another enquirey over air bus and I don't think that any particular party is going to get pushed into a corner with the threat of litigation. In fact I wouldn't be suprised to see the opposition turn up the heat a notch or two in the house(where they can not be sued) to encourage McKay to make a move. WWWTT

Sitting MP's cannot be sued for libel or slander,and everybody knows that! However this shows that McKay and the rest of the conservatives feel that this incident has signifagantly hurt them! Many Canadians are not aware of this and he is releasing this claim of contemplating a lawsuit to make it look like the critisism is unwarranted. The conservatives have done this before and the reform before them WWWTT

Whao man what a comment to make buddy.Ok I'll just start from the top Any Canadian is free to critisize the government,even abroad.If they choose to do so abroad then they expose themselves to that countries laws.And even then Canada is still obligated to protect them abroad. Then you make assumptions about the protesters such as "spoiled" and "arrogant" among others.Do you personally know these protestors?So how are you qualified to make these statements? You right in saying that more research would have to be done. In my experience with dealing with people who like to twist the rules to their advantage is to take the same approach when directing critisism towards them.If you don't then you will always be at the disadvantage. Not quite actually.Making yourself look like the natural party of Canada is not like making someone who is against you look un-Canadian.The liberal approach was a little more passive and the conservative one is more active.And the conservatives were furious at the liberal approach aswell. WWWTT

Yes and this is where driving a vehicle is not the same as being in the privacy of your own home. When you drive a vehicle you do so with the permision of the provincial government through a drivers liscence. Holding a drivers liscence is a privalege and not a right. In other words as far as drivers liscences go you are automatically guilty(when charged)(in cases of high speed and impairment drinking alcohol) and must prove otherwise.This is why the police are able to suspend your liscence automatically before a trial or hearing. You may be confusing this case with possibly some others were the police have pulled people over,searched their vehicle,found a controlled substance and then charged the individual with possession and/or trafficing etc etc.Many of these cases are natoriously thrown out because 9 out of ten times the cop has no way of telling from the drivers ability to control their vehicle is an indication they are in possession of a controlled substance.Or being in possession of a controlled substance does not affect your ability to drive. Actually if this is true and an unelected official is acting on behalf of a region then this would be treason. No person or body can circumvent an elected official in Canada. WWWTT

Essentially the police did the same thing by removing name tags and covering their face with helmet and face shield WWWTT

Keep in mind that just recently in Alberta something like 4 students died at the hand of an alleged impaired driver in one single accident. This puts a tremendous push on the justice system to crack down. You could be right that Goldring may plead not guilty and his lawyer will argue that the arresting officer did not have reasonable grounds to pull him over to ask the judge to throw out the case. But all the cop has to say that he saw him swerve and he smelled alcohol on his breath. Keep in mind that this is not a case where his vehicle was searched revealing a controlled substance! WWWTT

I don't believe this first public debate was intended to showcase any one particular person(or 3-4 for that matter). But to show the depth of the party as a whole. And this has always bein the brand of the NDP It seems that a couple of candidates were jockying for a pole position(Topp Mulcair) and going on that I would say Topp is ahead. And the fact that he does not have a seat is a + and gives him a clean canvass to work with which makes him more juicy! WWWTT

Ok so the first debate of the NDP leadership race is done,whats everyones take on this? I personaly am pleased to see the tone this race is taking! The NDP are surfacing as the real alternative party to the conservatives I believe!Solidifying their role as the official opposition! This approach should come as tangible relief to many Canadian voters tired of the bickering/hypocrocy of the conservatives/liberals. I expect this theme to resonate nationwide and its about time someone steped up! WWWTT

In 2009-Two years before the last election Goldring made his position clear!Where was Harper then?Where were the conservative party protecting the rights of victims?But now Harper comes out "after" one of his mp is charged to say we are strongly against impaired driving?!?!? Was Goldring not a member of the conservative party in 2009 when he attempted to shoot down legislation to make it easier for police to administer road side breathalizer test? Did he not run again in 2011 as a conservative MP and was re-elected after the party clearly knew where this guy stood? But now somehow after he is charged with refusing to blow you "claim" that his actions do not reflect on the conservative party? Are you for real man? WWWTT

Ok then explain how is it that a conservative mp who is charged with failing to blow is no longer a conservative or how their actions do not reflect on their party that chose them to represent them? Is there a switch that MPs flip to "off" when they are not sitting in the house. And where was it that Goldring was driving home from?Was he not attending some kind of political related function? Is he somehow a complete innocent unpolitical figure on his down time? WWWTT WWWTT
