  1. This is false. Depending on the structure and zoning by laws for the area, there are set backs for different types of buildings. From the limited info provided from the link it sounds like a residential area, single family detached home(size and style?) The foundation of the structure must be built on the property with minimum distances between the front border, sides and back. Also to/from septic tanks, filter beds and bodies of water. There can be also a number of other restriction imposed by the municipality, regions, districts and even covenants imposed when in a specific sub division! Anyways the link says that the home builder built this house,on his own property 9cm to close to one border. Sounds like the guy forming the footings made a mistake or the surveyor.I doubt that this guy had it properly surveyed before hand since surveyors check their work over many times. Many things are not known like the size of the lot? Ultimately the builder/owner is on the hook. However he can make the claim that the inspector did not do his due diligence when he inspected the footings as he should have before the concrete was poured(first inspection). Either way the neighbour sounds like a stiff. But who knows maybe its the builder/owner(not enough data)? WWWTT
  2. From the way I read this comment it is false. In Ontario if you are a member of one, then you are a member of both. However contribution laws are different federally and provincially(and this leads to confusion and mistakes) WWWTT
  3. I did not realize that I was describing what Gross Domestic Product was as you have suggested? But here's a shot and you tell me what you think buddy. GDP is one of the indicators used to gauge the strength of a countries/province/regions economy. It can be measured in two ways. Income approach-adding up what everyone earned in one year(total compensation to employees, gross profit for incorporated and non incorporated firms, taxes less subsidies) Expenditure approach(most common)-adding up what everyone spent in one year(total consumption, investment, government spending, net exports) Does that help you any? WWWTT
  4. This is a false statement. GDP is mainly generated by consumers and consumer confidence. WWWTT
  5. NDP MPP Jagmeet Singh is making some great proposals to bring in public insurance. But insurance is a provincially regulated industry and should be debated under the provincial heading. WWWTT
  6. I agree 100%! Unfortunately Ontario was a publicly owned utility provider and not just any ordinary corporation. The cost of hydro and the supply of hydro itself has a direct impact on every ones available income, standard of living and a tremendous impact on attracting/maintaining business/manufacturing. In Mike Harris's frantic attempt to look for spending cuts to offset decreased revenue due to tax cuts,he sacrificed a crown jewel of Ontario industrialization. WWWTT
  7. Man if the average citizen can be as notorious mobsters as say the big banks, oil companies, telecommunication companies, auto manufacturers, meat packers, mining companies, retail distributors, utility companies, insurance companies then we would be on even ground maybe. WWWTT
  8. Sorry but the list is too lengthy and I have no time.I think we are done with this subject for now.But I am sure there others here that will continue to debate this one with you. By the way,the NDP is not the liberals.Nor does the NDP bear any responsibility for the actions of the previous liberal government! If you got a beef with the previous liberal government then I might very well agree with you! WWWTT
  9. I sense a disturbance in the force! WWWTT
  10. Its not my money?Either you are lying or you have absolutely no sense/knowledge of economics?!?!?! Any business operating in Canada earns money by providing service or products to Canadians who in turn give them the money. You think that businesses just made the money out of thin air? Therefore any business operating within Canada must then contribute. Why should businesses get a free ride???Better yet why should I have to pay more in taxes so that they can get a free ride? What are you going to say now,I wouldn't have any money from a job that a business gave me???Man that's something backwards and messed up! My way is the way of Switzerland,Norway,Japan,Israel,Germany and maybe another 6-8countries that have a stronger economy than Canada since Harper took over. Your argument is not with me,your arguments are with the facts! WWWTT
  11. Actually my thread is in provincial politics, nothing wrong there since it is a provincial bi election. I am informing other members, who are interested in politics about a candidate,my experience and my opinion, once again nothing wrong. If you do not like it then report. If the admin. agrees then I will comply-you win. If I do not here anything,I continue to contribute as before. If you think I am taking this personal, well that's just not any of your business is it now? WWWTT
  12. Sorry no evidence. Corporate tax cuts are a waste of our money WWWTT
  13. You are ignoring the fact that corporate tax cuts inflate the deficit. True that increased spending on improving our infrastructure/education/health care facilities increase the deficit. But infrastructure spending is a win win investment!Jobs now and jobs later! The better infrastructure Canada has,the more competitive we are and our production levels dramatically increase attracting even more business and job growth! And when the whiner baby corporations(Cat) start crying and leave, guess what, the infrastructure stays put! WWWTT
  14. Yes I guess you could be right. Perhaps there are flaws in how the states and even municipalities/regions have strong sometimes conflicting powers/laws. What good is a constitution if it can not be enforced? WWWTT
  15. 1980 Ronald Regan quote from televised presidential debate with Jimmy Carter. Lets just agree to disagree. In the meantime there are others hear interested in hearing my view point and this is an election where I will be supporting one specific candidate! It is literally my job to insure that my candidate wins.If you wish to help yours, then that's up to you. Oh and by the way,if you wish to dictate how I should contribute to this forum, then expect more of the same from me. WWWTT
  16. I think William Ashley is back. You remember him,the only guy here that would stick up for that Markuze or Mabus character. He goes by xjusticexxx or something like that.Anyways enjoy!

  17. Ya Wilber I have given up debating with American Woman on this one.(I suggest you do the same) I remember she did this one time in a thread about marihuana laws(or something like that) and it was an endless debate about some minor technicality that I can't remember now about possession and smoking it or something like that. Once AW gets locked into a position she becomes stubborn and the arguments/debate become endless on one point. The debate will never evolve from then on. WWWTT
  18. And why is that? First off one must look at a countries infrastructure, employment, education, health care system and so on. Way too much emphasis is put on culture.I believe culture does play a role, but much smaller compared to social spending. General rule of thumb would be less social spending, more crime. An exception would be China perhaps? However China has had a booming economy for a very very very long time and almost no unemployment.(spending on justice, police, jails is only a fraction than compared to the west too, maybe like 25-30%) WWWTT
  19. Wow four rolling eyes!Sounds like your really pissed off! Well don't take it too serious. WWWTT
  20. Oh ok then,I get your point. I guess you see the only way someone can get hurt is if that someone else tries to physically harm you. Clear as a bell! WWWTT
  21. Nope sorry never said I was proud of how the Canadian government has treated natives. Just saying that guns did not help them. Just ask the Mohawks at Oka. WWWTT
  22. Actually I forgot to add something. When you must first resign one post to seek another, you are then faced with the risk of ending up with neither post. I know people who have decided to stay put because of this risk. In the US this risk is not there so therefore it does not prevent governors, senators, etc, etc from making the run. Things look a lot different depending on your perspective. WWWTT
  23. Oh ya right. The right to bear arms helped the African Americans establish the same rights given to whites. WWWTT
  24. Because well over 90% are dead WWWTT
