Well here we go! The writ has been dropped! And it looks like Sept.6th will be the day. I would have thought he would stay away from that day because that was the election day that saw Rae take power in 1990 away from Peterson.Odd?(maybe I'm wrong) WWWTT -

Too much hate within Islam?I agree with you,I would not say that. US is a country and Islam is a religion. Perhaps I may write "there is too much hate in Iraq or Morocco",but not a specific religion.I don't think anyways. Sorry but I do not see the need to get sidetracked like this. If you want to discuss Islam then start a thread about it. I am not interested at this time. WWWTT -

Nope it is you that misunderstands my comment in regards to yours. I believe what I was getting at is that when there is gun violence in the States, gun laws do not change. However if there is foreign terrorism then you can bet the farm that there will be changes in regards to travel, visas, passport requirements, etc, etc in an attempt to prevent from the re occurrence. As far as Islam goes that should be let for a more appropriate thread. I am not saying I do not have an opinion, but this instance happened in the US and what you are suggesting is a little to far separated to the recent events. WWWTT -
Nope you are avoiding the core issue that is at the heart of the debate here. The oil companies want everyone to jump through hoops to export oil and all the jobs that go with it to pad their CEO's bonuses. I am saying that the government should eliminate the subsidies given to the oil companies and invest in keeping the benefit of the oil within Canada. Corporations only care about their profit and not the overall benefit of Canada. But somehow you are suggesting that CEO/corporate wealth relates to Canadian wealth and that is false. Not only false but foolish to believe. WWWTT

Prove it. WWWTT -
Ya just like the meat packers helped the beef farmers of Canada during the mad cow disease crisis right? While Canadian beef farmers were going bankrupt and losing their family farms,Canadian meat packers were making record profits and returning diddly! When you let the corporations call the shots they will only do what is better for them, not Canadians! WWWTT

There is a saying that goes "a couple of bad apples ruin it for everyone" But not if your a gun owner. If you travel by plane(or use any transportation in some countries) or cross the border things have drastically changed since 911.Would you deny this? In other words what you are complaining about and reality are two different things. WWWTT -
Why should Canada help a competitor such as China or Saudi Arabia? Let the Chinese deal with the Saudis and lets refine and use our products here. Keep in mind that the raw material and product that we have left over can still be exported for more profit. What I am suggesting is that our raw materials and natural resources should be used to help Canadians first, rest of the world second. WWWTT

Keep doing what we are doing? I thought that this thread was about building a pipeline? Anyways in case you have not noticed we are losing jobs to China and the US.My proposal will help keep some of those jobs right here at home. WWWTT

For myself sports are a waste of time and money. True they can be a source of entertainment and discussion. But too overrated! Regardless of who runs the fastest or jumps the highest, none of it will improve/change my life. A good thing would be if it contributed to people exercising and personal health. WWWTT

Build it and they will come. WWWTT

Then why do you not come out and say you disagree with me? I used the example of Brazil where such projects have yielded huge benefit. The best you can provide is "I want a pony","I am built low","Dilbert comic strip" and "mom and apple pie wishes". At some point of time you're going to have to come up with something a little stronger than just your opinion.Or maybe you will not be able to? WWWTT

I think you forgot that eastern Canada is also connected to the eastern US?The biggest oil consuming region in the world. WWWTT
-
Man that's a freekin huge load your tryin to shovel there. It makes a huge difference! First off we will have to invest into our infrastructure to bring the oil to the east and remove the subsidies to the oil companies to help pay for this. There is no need to charge more for the oil that would cause significant hindrance. The big advantage here would be that the Canadian infrastructure will be able to provide a wide selection of fuels, keeping the money within Canada. I guess you just do not understand the strategic advantage of keeping money within our borders?Or you do not see the long term advantage in investing in our infrastructure? WWWTT

Hey buddy,a pipeline connecting Canada is no different than a railway. The need for such connections was seen 150 years ago and are still needed now And why do you need a pony? What does a pony have to do with building a pipeline or refinery? WWWTT
-
Ok I understand where you are coming from. However this increase in the cost of food can be contributed to many different influences. Possible the biggest one being the cost of fuel increase(ironic) and the markets capitalizing on speculation. As well oil has led to much war around the world too and is not without blood on its hands! WWWTT
-
Yes I agree with you! However I had never suggested that we adopt an ethanol production solution. What I am suggesting is we adopt an energy infrastructure development plan that would benefit all or at least many parts of Canada. Doing so would increase productivity and make Canada very attractive to foreign investment and strengthen manufacturing among other sectors in our countries economy from east to west! I am not saying that it would be easy and fast to do or cheap. But it is something that is long overdue! WWWTT

Ya I don't agree with either of these comments. WWWTT
