  1. CONSERVATIVES ENTER CAMPAIGN WITH BIG LEAD http://probe-research.com/documents/110324A%20Federal%20Party%20Standings%20%28FINAL%29.pdf
  2. Not good news for Harper in Quebec City area. B - 37% C - 30% L - 14% N - 9% G - 8%
  3. Harper is caught in the big lie here, and is going to get his hide nailed to the wall over this. The opposition parties ought to run some ads over Harper's coalition hypocrisy. Duceppe is hilarious - asked by a reporter if he thinks Harper lost the letter Harper signed to work with with Duceppe and Layton, Duceppe brandishing a copy of it, says he will send him one.
  4. Stephen Harper believes in democracy for himself but not for others. Nice! It's just a matter of time until the media do a number on him. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
  5. More Harper lies. Does Prime Minister Harper ever tell the truth? Contemptible.
  6. I'd like to see that proof myself.
  7. Good point, why waste what limited resources they have. Seriously though they need to buck up in Ontario, and they need to do it quick.
  8. How do you define coalition? A formal coalition is shared cabinet positions, but Ignatieff could go to the GG with a signed agreement letter just like Harper did in 2004, when holier-than-thou Harper meet with Duceppe and Layton in some back room of a sleazy hotel out of sight of the public, and perhaps become PM. Same dif.
  9. So is the Kelowna Accord and a National Child Care Program. Oh wait you say, those don't exist. Aw come on, he just a new guy, give him a break.
  10. Bryan, Harper will use a coalition lickety-split with the NDP and the Bloc if he has to, just like he did in 2004. And everyone knows that.
  11. Even I am laughing about Shady's comments on that one Jack.
  12. August you seem to be constantly grasping at straws. First it was that this coalition will destroy Ignatieff - do you know they Ignatieff and the press were laughing about the coalition at Ignatieff's press conference today. And then your silliness about whether or not the letter was signed by Harper. Of course it was signed, and only a Conservative partisan would have suggested otherwise. Harper is already on shaky ground about ethics and he has just got to stop telling lies or Harper risks getting blown out of the water with this coalition BS. When it's Harper's word against three others, maybe it's time to think about that old saying "everybody's out of step but Johnny".
  13. Jack Layton seems to be the only one who wants to talk positively at least about a coalition! In all seriousness though, it is the Canadian way to cooperate, instead of all this fighting all the time when you don't have the numbers like Harper's minority. It's giving everyone a headache and led to the Harper Government being held in contempt of Parliament.
  14. When he was born. I'm joking. It's the thing to do in Quebec, and it's no biggie. Who cares about Quebec separation - it's not as if Quebec is going to get up and move if they want a separate nation, is it? Anyway I like Quebec and it is part of what makes Canada a good place to be.
  15. Everyone knows the Speaker is impartial. There is a reason Harper's Government was charged with and found guilty of contempt of Parliament. Harper played games, tried to deceive Canadians and the opposition, did not supply the costs, and that's why we are having this election. It's about democracy.
  16. Actually I disagree as it is useful to have some threads merged like was done yesteday with the polling threads. So thanks to the mods for that.
  17. This is quite sad. We can lose our democracy with this kind of thinking. Reminds me of the Tea Party mentality in the USA.
  18. Give it up, it's just partisan nonsense, and there are important policies to debate such as should we spend what is it now $30 billion for fighter jets and have all the maintenance done in the USA.
  19. Nonsense. He just said he would not form a coalition. He did not say he would not try to defeat the government. Anyway all this talk is useless until we see what the actual election results are. In the meantime we'll see for example if Canada's seniors would like a bit of additional help from the Canadian government or if they would prefer Harper to buy unneeded fighter jets.
  20. You got that right TB. The Bloc will get their usual 45-55 seats. If Duceppe ran across Canada it would be amazing the support he would get.
  21. OK, check this one out. CROP For Quebec B - 38% C - 23% N - 20% L - 11% G - 8% Among Francophones B - 44% N - 21% C - 21% L - 7% Le PLC à son plus bas au Québec http://www.cyberpresse.ca/actualites/elections-federales/201103/26/01-4383408-le-plc-a-son-plus-bas-au-quebec.php
  22. August you seem to obsess around the word "hate". I hate to burst your bubble, and I'm sure it was fun while it lasted but it's over, and it's time to move on to something of substance like the threat to our democracy with the Harper Government being found in contempt of Parliament.
  23. This is our democracy we are talking about here, and governments and politicians need to be respectful if it. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/962022--walkom-yes-contempt-of-parliament-does-matter
  24. True dat. And obviously Ignatieff just put the issue to bed. Ok, next issue?
  25. Anyways the issue is over. Ignatieff is the new kid on the block of Canadian politics so to speak, so we need to cut him a little slack. He'll pick up the pace now I imagine, and start dealing with the ethics file which is presently causing Harper some grief.
