I think that somewhere in there you might have been trying to explain my "obvious hypocrisy", Freddy, but you have come up mighty short. Give 'er another go. -

Harper won't take part in media consortium debates
Je suis Omar replied to poochy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The PMO has confirmed that Harper is willing to debate anyone in his Parliament hill cubbyhole. -
All mainstream western media is a joke, PIK. They are supposed to a call to reason, a control on evil politicians. Not the equivalent of Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. Fifty plus years of uncontrolled, malevolent terrorism directed against Cuba, after a previous sixty years of USA dictatorships against the same cuban people and not a boo! All that same time while numerous USA terrorist actions going on against numerous other countries. Not a boo! It's no wonder those countries finally said, ENOUGH, and formed an organization that didn't include the USA and Canada.

USA Genocide against Native Americans

But I did answer THEM, Angus. You don't seem to like my replies. At the end you suggest there was only one, "my question". How is a body to deal with such obvious confusion? How can one reply to questions formed from your faulty memory? -

That "another poster" had expressed, clearly, a predilection for supporting war criminals and terrorists for a number of fallacious reasons, for example, because others had done the same, because they provided him with a means of sustenance. He and I are nowhere close to the same in our thinking. And it is specious of you to suggest we are. As I said, find something in a post of mine that might lead you to think that you are asking a sensible question. -
And the OP's main question is being studiously ignored. "Canadian media is just a joke". Does anyone recall ever reading any articles about USA terrorism, USA war crimes, the USA being convicted by the International Court of Justice for terrorism against Nicaragua? Can anyone point me to any Canadian media articles discussing how the USA completely rejected that conviction, the only time any country has been so designated as terrorist? Examples of USA war crimes and terrorism are legion. Can anyone point me to discussions of same in Canadian media?

Time For Referendum On Capital Punishment

One would really like to know, and understand, why you are so reluctant to provide sources for your notions. Notions that can so easily be shown to be uninformed ones, for your own country! [ -

Where is the "my stomach is killing me from laughing" emoticon!? -
That truly is a very lame argument. Those millions of others, the emigres, aren't any more enlightened, any more knowledgeable about USA war crimes and terrorism than the millions of others in Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, even the USA. These hundreds of millions of people continue to operate under, and continue to believe the longstanding mother of all myths, that the USA is a kind and benevolent country, a saviour of the oppressed, a rule of law country. Such has been the success of the USA propaganda system. Yet another thing the USA has done better than the Nazis.
-
I certainly wasn't attempting to convince you, Hernanday. I just picked up where you left off. I really just continued your point.
-
Since before 9-11, the USA has been developing the terrorism myth to aid it in its continuing predations upon the poor countries and the poor people of the world. As any thinking person can see, if they care enough to look, and it doesn't even require that close of a look, just what a huge myth it is. Just ask yourself, considering the wide availability of guns in the USA, why aren't there numerous, daily even, "terrorist" attacks upon the citizenry at large? If these large numbers of American mass murderers can so easily pull off the Sandy Hooks, the Columbines, the Colorado movie house shootings, ..., often with just one person, why are the "terrorist" plots "uncovered", and prevented by "diligent police work" always such complicated operations? Because the whole narrative is a government sop, yet another invented, phoney boogeyman charade. Indeed, this whole bit of nonsense about terrorism is nothing more than reinvented McCarthyism, with a new boogeyman.
-
And why, we must ask, is the murder rate so high in Colombia? Once again, it's the USA and UK backing of a brutal right wing dictatorship. This, of course, has long been the pattern for the Latin American countries. The USA overthrows democratically elected leaders and installs their own brutal right wing dictators. One only has to look at the USA's pattern around the world. Despite the rhetoric, the incessant propaganda emanating from the mouths of USA politicians, from USA media, about the USA being the saviour of the oppressed, the opposite is true. The USA has always supported right wing dictatorships that have viciously brutalized their own populations so American (and UK) businesses can exploit their wealth.

Law and Order in America

I was inquiring about a reality based "law and order". Not the highly fictionalized wasteland found within the USA TV and movie industry. -

Neither the brain or the liver is that sensitive that getting drunk once is going to hurt you. There are things that are much more damaging to cognitive ability. Two that readily come to mind are religion and brain dead patriotism.

Scotty, my reply to your post, quoted below, can be found at, http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topic/24372-why-are-so-few-willing-to-discuss-the-science/page-41#entry1056780 -
QUOTE FROM SCOTTY HAS BEEN MOVED HERE FROM, http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/topic/24008-shots-fired-on-parliament-hill/page-70#entry1056741 Do you consider that FEMA, as a large group of individuals, "have more than a few screws loose"? You do know who FEMA is, don't you, Scotty? I just want to make sure that you are somewhat up to speed on these issues. What about the USGS? Do they also have screws loose? Leslie Robertson, who was part of the original WTC towers design team, saw and described molten steel in the basement of one of the WTC buildings. He also described the WTC towers as buildings that would withstand the impacts of a fully loaded 707. John Skilling, the lead design engineer for the WTC towers, also described how the towers would withstand these impacts, big fires would result, he allowed but the towers would still stand. What about Professor Jonathon Barnett? Oh here, you read the infomation yourself which clearly proves that there was not only molten steel and molten iron, there was "eutectic reaction occurred at the surface, causing intergranular melting capable of turning a solid steel girder into Swiss cheese". There was also evidence of melted molybdenum, "molybdenum-rich spherule, which had been observed and studied by the USGS team. This information is remarkable, because molybdenum (Mo) is known for its extremely high melting point: 2,623°C (4,753°F)." There was vaporized lead, which would need temperatures of 1,749°C (3,180°F). All these temperatures were so far above the temperatures that were possible with jet fuel and office contents. They produced molten metals that COULD NOT POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN MELTED WITHOUT THE AID OF HI TECH MILITARY GRADE EXPLOSIVES. Read on McDuff!

It's unfathomable why some folks think pointing to other equal or greater war criminals, terrorists, murderers, rapists, ... absolves the USA of their millions of people slaughtered.

Because Canadians (and the rest of the civilized world) are not Americans. Although there seem to be a good number of radical right wingers, (Harper, MacKay, ... ) that want to see that change. -
Je suis Omar, on 24 May 2015 - 3:06 PM, said: The "obvious" being that the USA is now, and has always been a vicious nation of war criminals, terrorists, purveyors of genocide, and a host of other unsavoury attributes.
