  1. Don't forget OWNERS of $1 TRILLION of the U.S.'s debt...
  2. - To tackle the financial and economic crisis that spread across the globe in 2008, the G20 members were called upon to further strengthen international cooperation. Accordingly, the G20 Summits have been held in Washington in 2008, in London and Pittsburgh in 2009, and in Toronto and Seoul in 2010. - http://www.g20.org/about_what_is_g20.aspx By edit: Seoul G20: South Korea's coming-out party By Donald Kirk — Special to GlobalPost Published: November 10, 2010 06:40 ET in Asia - Analysis: As world leaders meet in South Korea, the global economy will likely be left in the lurch. - http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/south-korea/101109/g20-summit-seoul-global-economy?page=0,1
  3. No, I mean BEST GGs... If by "best spenders" you mean most frugal, perhaps, I'd have to check... Maybe you should talk to Moroney who gave the Bloc seats in Parliament about that...
  4. Already was... It cost S. Korea under $100 Mil to host it... When was it repealed? That's great news! Exactly what did Canada get for/from the $1+B G8/G20 conf.? The gun registry wouldn't have happened if some nut hadn't killed 14 women... Your point?
  5. Could that be why NEW SOCIAL MEDIA was the first target for Mubarak?
  6. As compared to wasting $1 BILLION on a two week G8/G20 meeting? I see your point...
  7. And a Chinese one before that, two of the BEST GGs Canada ever had... A Canadian is a Canadian and it doesn't matter a lick what their ethic origin is now does it?
  8. This is true, now that Obama is the U.S. President... It was however not true of the U.S.'s previous administration... That's 8 yrs. vs 2 yrs. in the last 10 yrs. in the shaping of world opinion about the United States and it's global impact and influence... It may take a few more years to change opinions about the United States...As it pertains to Egypt I believe the "support" Mubarak got from the United States primarily but along with other Gov. include some from Canada ("the west") is the reason the Egyptian Military has not put down this revolt... I also note, that by all that's happening in Egypt, "the west's" influence on Mubarak and his actions is very, very, minimal at best, at least since this all started...
  9. Maybe yes, maybe no, regardless, I also don't think that the US is alone in developing unmanned planes... What's more I don't particularily care... Can you tell me the last military conflict Canada was involved with without the U.S.? Get my drift? I think Canada will be all right flying some pretty good, and definitely more suitable to Canada's needs and role as a "military power", "last generation planes" instead of next generation planes'll be just fine... Like I've said before, you don't NEED a Mazeratti to drive to the corner store to pick up some milk, eh...
  10. - The Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle vision is an affordable weapon system that expands tactical mission options for revolutionary new air power as an integrated part of a system of systems solution. The UCAV weapon system will exploit the design and operational freedoms of relocating the pilot outside of the vehicle to enable a new paradigm in aircraft affordability while maintaining the rationale, judgment, and moral qualities of the human operator. In our vision, this weapon system will require minimal maintenance, can be stored for extended periods of time, and is capable of dynamic mission control while engaging multiple targets in a single mission under minimal human supervision. The UCAV will conduct missions from ordinary airfields as part of an integrated force package complementary to manned tactical and support assets. UCAV controllers will observe rules of engagement and make the critical decisions to use or refrain from using force. ----- ---- The DARPA/Air Force/Boeing X-45A technology demonstration aircraft completed its first flight on 22 May 2002. Multi-aircraft testing will begin in 2003 when a second X-45A becomes operational, leading to joint UCAV and manned exercises in FY 2006. - http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/man/uswpns/air/attack/x-45_ucav.html Perhaps closer than you think? Also see my thoughts on this, go to - http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=17363&view=findpost&p=621074 More importantly, with the probable cost of the F-35 now projected to increase (easily) to $21 BILLION with the first delivery in 8 years (vs NOW)... Oh, and don't forget, we're talking an UNPROVEN airframe, not the best choice among several PROVEN airframes like Canada's purchase of it's F-18s last time...
  11. Hmmm, 'ol Hosni wants his Son and/or Brother to head up an interim Government... Think that pig will fly?
  12. I totally agree...
  13. The people in the streets ARE the poll, a much more extensive poll of a population than is usually done... That was MY point...
  14. What, at least 10x as much I hope, just to keep things EVEN...
  15. Good point, I haven't seen anyone in Egypt attacking any Embassies etc., and prior to the PRO forces hitting the streets everything was pretty peaceful and looking good for "the west"...
  16. ALL of it is, the whole "precinct", IS Canada's Parliament, Buildings, grounds, east and west blocks, etc... If you think it's only the "center block" (the one seen in most pictures) it's not... No misrepresentation, the buildings being renovated FIRST are the oldest completed in 1865... The newest is the Center Block, the original was destroyed by fire, and rebuilt in 1916-1917 (during WWI)... If you ever want to get some real pride in being a Canadian take a tour to the Parliament Buildings sometime... The rest of Ottawa ain't bad either... http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?PgNm=TCE&Params=A1ARTA0006104
  17. Has anyone thought to look at some other countries and what it costs them to maintain/refurbish Government buidings of the import that the Parliament buildings have to Canada and Canadian heritage? Try it! See what Washington spends on maintaining their Capitol Building... Ours is one of the CHEAPEST yet most magnificent Capital Buildings in the world...
  18. You ever do a poll?
  19. I like you, you're funny... Reaganomics indeed...
  20. Correct.... I think it's just about time to change that possition... The Egyptian protesters are watching and they aren't impressed by what they've seen coming out of certain "western" countries (yours and mine) so far... Sitting on a metal picket fence for too long can have serious consequences...
  21. Bottom line: When you have an annual income coming in of about $1.5 BILLION you're not likely to be too anxious to give it up... Mubarak family assets: $40 BILLION Hosni's personal wealth: $17 BILLION + Intentions, inshemsions, who cares, I'm just happy right now that the Egyptian military, mainly because they KNOW which side is gonna be around to keep them well fed, isn't putting the rebellion down... When Mubarak leaves is the time to make sure as little as possible changes when it comes to Egypt's finances... I'm hoping that's your country and MINE along with other "western" countries and not the alternative... Wars can be awfully expensive, a LOT more than shelling out a few Billion a year to keep the peace...
  22. No one here would know that better than you... Seen yourself in the mirror lately?
  23. I'd laugh at the fact that "surrey boy" is now calling Canada a Fascist state and the United States a Communist state (boy is that a tough sell to BOTH countries) if it wasn't for the fact that Canada has good Health Care... Even with our rather length wait times for non-emegency treatment I'm sure the men in white lab coats will find and help this lad fairly shortly...
