  1. Well, the Egyptions know that devil and want him and his admin. gone... I have no problem with that... What will be will be... I'll survive either way... It just may mean I won't be going to visit the Pyramids again any time soon...
  2. Hey, one only has to check out Venesuela's ecomomic performance under Chavez compared to before to understand why...
  3. No confusion at all, it's a form of coup, maybe, but the bottom line is something is coming to a head and it's the Military not Mubarak calling the shots (based on what I'm hearing and seeing on the newsnetworks here and in the U.S)....
  4. There's a big fog moving in from the east... London Stock market to take over the TSX and Montreal Stock Markets... We may never know what's happening in our own resources sectors...
  5. Mubarak is going to speak, according to the media, after that we'll have a little clearer picture of what happens next, for good or bad... Kind of a double edged sword, all the rulers, Nasser, Sadat, and Mubarak came from Military backgrounds, on the other hand it's a conscript Military in which all Egyptians have to serve, that fact alone may have a big bearing on how this will play out...
  6. Well, I gotta tell ya, I've been around an awfully long time and this is a little different... Egypt has a pretty "hip" society, many that were educated at the best schools all over the world, they are fully computer literate and have had fairly easy access to the "outside" world, western and otherwise... Plus Egypt is not an oil economy, it's far more diversified with both the Suez Canal and TOURISM lpaying extremely important roles in Egypts economy and culture... There's no telling how it will all play out, but I'd say that knowledgable people are a mite harder to "control" than the uninformed...
  7. I'm not infallible... You know the answer as well as I do... Point being it was, is, and should remain a U.S., as opposed to NATO, mission, NATO got "suckered" into it by the U.S. and now don't want to "lose face", NATO's bad, not Bush's... And enough of the BS BC, if the mighty U.S. Military can't handle something like what happened, happens in 'lil 'ol Afghanistan all on their own, it's YOU (the USA) that has a problem, a mighty BIG problem (what's your military budget and manpower again?) not us...
  8. So, you want it both ways, or what? Are they or aren't they? You seem to simply hate and/or blame everyone, why?
  9. Yep, but a "friendly" one, they just strongly suggested Mubarak step down and leave NOW... We of course don't hear much about the "or else" part...
  10. It's always nice to AGREE...
  11. Yeah, the US and NATO, are different entities, but I stand by what I said regardless... Not sure what you're trying to say with the "throw everything" or "sound reason", please clarify that...
  12. They've "asked" Mubarak to leave, NOW... They are to take charge of the Government, coup like, but "friendlier" on behalf of the Egyptian people...
  13. The Taliban are/were a result of U.S. aid to the Mujahadin in their fight against their Russian occupiers, they stepped into the void left when the Russians left Afghanistan... 19 Suicide bombers (none of them Taliban or even Afghanis) gave the U.S. a bloody nose so of course in retalliation Bush and Co. decided since the Taliban in Afghanistan were too slow to hand over some accussed wealthy Saudi living there to "take out" the Taliban Regime running Afghanistan... Their Northern Neighbour and GB wanted a piece of the action... In all honesty, since we were talking about probably the WORST regime in the world, the Taliban, I SUPPORTED the war when it started... The day the U.S. decided Iraq was the war they preferred, Canada should have pulled out of Afghanistan... No support from me from that day forward... If the Government in Afghanistan, and the Afghani people, won't fight for their own country with all the advantages they have, weapons, numbers, financial support (U.S., Canada, GB, NATO), and lose to an insurgent rag tag Taliban, Afghanitan deserves what it gets... That's my opinion, take it or leave it...
  14. Yeah, just like Winnipeg did... There was a LITTLE help from all 3 levels of Government, but nothing like what's being proposed... Since Winnipeg is building a new Football stadium, as are Hamilton and Regina, this better be thought out, because those 3 cities and provinces are gonna "matter" if there's no "fairness" across the board... What's good for the goose is good for the gander, aka, BUYING VOTES...
  15. It's all just politics... Harper style politics...
  16. Breaking news... The Egyptian Military will take over control of Egypts Government... Few details so far, but Military Officials saying this is not a coup, it is to restore stability until such time as a New Egyptian Government can take over running Egypt...
  17. Indeed, very interesting...
  18. I miss the days when Winnipeg had a GOOD and viable TEAM and was known as Winnerpeg, honestly, there was a time and I remember it well... Perhaps --- ?!?!
  19. Sorry Bonam, I got busy with something else and took some time to post my previous post thereby cross posting with your latest post... err, it's complicated...
  20. The Rings of Jupiter Jupiter has a series of rings circling it! Unlike Saturn's rings, which are clearly visible from Earth even through small telescopes, Jupiter's rings are very difficult to see. So difficult, in fact, that they weren't discovered until a few years ago. Jupiter's rings were first found by the Voyager 1 spacecraft in 1979. There are three parts to Jupiter's rings. The innermost, cloud-like ring is called the Halo Ring. The next one out is the Main Ring, which is quite narrow and thin. Beyond the Main Ring is the wispy, nearly transparent Gossamer Ring. As shown in the diagram, the Gossamer Ring has two parts: the Amalthea Gossamer Ring (closer to Jupiter) and the Thebe Gossamer Ring. Saturn's rings are mostly made of ice. Jupiter's rings are different - they are very dark and difficult to see. They are made up of small bits of dust. The Galileo spacecraft helped us discover where that dust comes from. Meteors striking the surface of Jupiter's small, inner moons kick up dust which then goes into orbit around Jupiter, forming the rings. http://www.windows2universe.org/jupiter/rings.html I'm confident that as a scientist you will see the relevance of this post... How would one determine the cycle of an eliptical orbit based even on a complete single years observation... Since all measurements and hyposthesis are based on a relationship to an observable star is one observing it at it's closest or farthest point in relation to said star... Does this closeness vary on a cyclical basis as do all the planets in our own solar system... Being that we are looking at a variety of stars that encompass these "earth sized" (as opposed to earth like) planets, and as far as I know (I stand to be corrected) none of them are the same as our sun what variables does that add to the composition, orbits, etc. in the calculations pertaining to any single "planet" referrenced in this thread? What would be your best estimate of the TIME it would take a probe, using the best and latest technology available today, to physically reach the nearest of these newly discovered planets were that probe to be launched this year? One other point I'd like to make is that before speculating too much about travelling to these newly found Planets everyons should really read the "source material" about them - http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/kepler/news/new_planetary_system.html - presented in easy to understand "layman's terms"... - All of the planets orbiting Kepler-11, a yellow dwarf star, are larger than Earth, with the largest ones being comparable in size to Uranus and Neptune. The innermost planet, Kepler-11b, is ten times closer to its star than Earth is to the sun. Moving outwards, the other planets are Kepler-11c, Kepler-11d, Kepler-11e, Kepler-11f, and the outermost planet, Kepler-11g, which is twice as close to its star than Earth is to the sun. "The five inner planets are all closer to their star than any planet is to our sun and the sixth planet is still fairly close," said Lissauer. If placed in our solar system, Kepler-11g would orbit between Mercury and Venus, and the other five planets would orbit between Mercury and our sun. The orbits of the five inner planets in the Kepler-11 planetary system are much closer together than any of the planets in our solar system. The inner five exoplanets have orbital periods between 10 and 47 days around the dwarf star, while Kepler-11g has a period of 118 days. -
  21. No matter how one tries one can't make a purse out of a pigs ear... But everyone knows that pigs can't fly... 22. Ahhh, you were afraid to answer, or had no answer? Sorry, MATE!
  23. Not by me, that's why I use them...
  24. Answering questions with questions, shame, shame... See above... Careful my friend... Your ignorance is showing through...
  25. It is what we are talking about but that site isn't... Back at'cha... I'm also aware of Bonam's scienticic "qualifications" and I admire him for it, however, being that I'm an Alien Being, I may have some expertise that he does not...
