  1. As I said before my friend, you are extremely "SHARP" today...
  2. Awww Bill, you almost had me fooled into believing you were a "closet Liberal" that was only waiting for the right reason to rejoin "the Big Red Tent"... But, nay, you are after all exactly what you seem to be, a common CON fomenting a battle between the "dangerous" to CON aspirations Liberals and the non threating NDP but good surrogates in attacking Liberals to achieve the desired wins in weak non CON ridings especially in Ontario... For shame my friend for shame... The "Trojan Horse" approach to elections is the stuff of the NDP and unbecoming to even the worst of CONS... Much as you seem to want to deny it there is little difference between Diefenbaker, Moroney, and Harper, all bent on selling out Canada to foreign interests, and in particular US interests... With harper this is becoming more obvious almost daily... If Canadians aren't astute and careful we will become the 51st state before we even know it...
  3. WOW! Straight from the Fascist manifesto... Amazing...
  4. Ahhh, I do so enjoy it when one capitulatates to me thusly; and on good terms to boot...
  5. Hmmmm, reported by whom and where I wonder...
  6. Two things my friend... 1. I'm not running for office... 2. It's my personal opinion about what's BEST for Canada and Canadians and in turn actually what's best for ALL the provinces and Territories within Canada... The have, have not, province thing is bad for all provinces because a "have" province like Alberta ends up financing the deficit of a so called "have not" province like Manitoba (Prov. NDP's fault ) that's a lose - lose proposition that can be turned into a win - win... I know it's not that simple to do but it is doable to everyone's benefit... But, as I said, I'm not running for office, so it's just my ideas which may end up in a book someday... BTW - "Towards a just society" by PET is a hell of a good read if anybody cares...
  7. Yeah, it ain't simple by any means... The best of bad choices is still a bad choice and still the best choice... - GWiz
  8. psst, I liked the NEP, I'm Canadian, it's MY oil too, just as Manitoba's, or Quebec's, Hydro power belongs to ALL Canadians... Maybe not equally, a province should have some added benefit from natural OR economic resources like Ontario, just not ALL the benefits our diverse and great country has to offer with just some tax dollars as the rest of the country's only benefit... I'm a CANADA FIRSTer at home AND abroad... Whodda thunk it, eh...
  9. Fair ball, but in truth all you've shown me is that it's part of the rhetoric in everyone's platform... It's my bad for stating it as JT's #1 issue, what he actually said to me when I asked him about that issue was, "it's definitely one of the top priorties we as Liberals will have to face when we become the Government again after the next election"... His speech was more about what Liberals across the country had to do in meeting the needs and aspirations of Canadians across the country by getting the "Liberal Brand" to mean what it once did when his father was PM...
  10. While LeBlanc wouldn't be a bad choice I still say Trudeau would be a better one... LeBlanc, for the very reason you yourself state, can be tied, albeit only slightly, to Chretien, Martin, Dion, with 2 out of those 3 being seen as losers and the third, well Chretien is Chretien... One of the biggest surprises and disapointments I've ever had supporting Liberals was the different Paul Martin PM to Paul Martin MP - Minister of Finance it was like two different people in EVERY aspect, from the way he spoke to the way he thought... I hope LeBlanc isn't like that but I get the feeling that he's not really a Leader type compared to JT who definitely is... I do have to admit I didn't hear LeBlanc speak when I had the chance so that may make my opinion less viable than it is regarding JT...
  11. What people don't realize because he looks so young is that he's already 40 y.o. so he's got a little seasoning behind him... Might not be as long as people think for him to step up into the "big job"... Scares the bejesus out of some folks here and everywhere else I'm betting...
  12. No need to repeat my last post I take it? You're "sharp" today... http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=18035&view=findpost&p=629460
  13. Ok, can you please show me why you say that? I somehow can't make that conection with Harper, Layton or even Ignatieff (although he does come closest) in anything they've said or more importantly, in the case of Harper, done to indicate that... Regardless, it's just my opinion of him so no biggy... BTW - What would be YOUR #1 issue for anyone, any party?
  14. Certainly one of the best posts on this thread... Congrats...
  15. Thank heaven for small favours... Ignatieff vs LeBlanc? Are you kidding me? I couldn't think of a more regressive step the Liberals could take than choosing LeBlanc or anyone else from that era today...
  16. I take it you're not a Liberal and have never been to Ken Dryden's website and certainly not during the last leadership race nor have you spoken to him one on one as I have where you realize how "in touch" with current Canadian values and ideals (read most Canadians) (certainly mine which is why I'd support him again) he is... Ken Dryden ps - No "baggage" what-so-ever...
  17. I'll take "like it" for 500... For one bringing Canada back to balanced budgets and paying down the debt as a #1 priority... While not necessarily "new", certainly welcomed by me and the rest of the crowd in attendance...
  18. Funny way to "dare" the Opposition (2x)... Harper goes prorogue - Parliamentary scrutiny may be tedious, but democracies cannot afford to dispense with it CANADIAN ministers, it seems, are a bunch of Gerald Fords. Like the American president, who could not walk and chew gum at the same time, they cannot, apparently, cope with Parliaments deliberations while dealing with the countrys economic troubles and the challenge of hosting the Winter Olympic games. This was the argument put forward by the spokesman for Stephen Harper, the Conservative prime minister, after his boss on December 30th abruptly suspended, or prorogued, Canadas Parliament until March 3rd. -
  19. It's early yet and the overall results are not yet in... Perhaps Part 3?
  20. Soup, ham and cheese sandwiches, lemon cream pie... Where, when, or how did I mention "ownership" in any of my questions in response to YOUR open ended statement - "China....and many other nations. There is a reason for this." - ? I simply responded "Money?"... You took it from there... If YOU feel the USA is "owned" by China it's YOUR argument not mine...
  21. Like I said, my choice would be, and has been, Ken Dryden (for NOW)... One thing to remember about Ignatieff is he's NOT a true "politician" and comes across as such for better or worse... The next few month will determine if he can be... Hearing him speak "first hand" has kinda made me like him more not less... I consider that a good thing...
  22. I've heard, read and know(knew) them both... I believe he is, if not better, at least equal to... Plus he's just starting out and has a LOT of legacy from "The Greatest Canadian" (CBC feature) to build on to... Needless to say when I heard him speak (2x), to crowds larger than Ignatieff drew at the same venue a week earlier, he was as charismatic, polished and content full as his dad was and the fact that he was doing this at this point in his life was, to say the least, extremely impressive...
  23. Sorry about the delay... Late lunch... It's NOT a chicken or egg thing... A "marketplace" exists because of "money" (in whatever form it may take including barter/trade), "money" doesn't exist because of a "marketplace"... So I'll repeat my simple yes or no question you seem to be having trouble with... What is a "marketplace" without money, the USA?
  24. That's what I said, money, what's a "marketplace" without money, the USA?
  25. Don't sewers run down not up? Ergo our problem DOWN south of us...
