Muslims demand Pope be Fired
JerrySeinfeld replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in The Rest of the World
Read the friggin' first post. Do you see the word 'riot'? Do you see the word 'threat'? I haven't downgraded anything. You on the other hand are upgrading. In fact, I'd call it highgrading. Are you the anyone who is supposed to be able to think? Actually the first post read "or face serious consequences" I think by now we all know what a Muslim means when he utters those words. -
North American Union and spp.gov
JerrySeinfeld replied to GostHacked's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I'm all for it - I think we could both use eachothers strengths and help get rid of our respective weaknesses. But what would we call it? UNA? -
You were not making "an obvious point about other cultures or religions" in the very least. You are being a disgusting racist by generalizing. Ya - ok whatever. If you wake up one morning and find your trash has been upended, you say "gosh - a raccoon went through my trash. oh well, one pesky raccoon." But if you wake up EVERY day and find that a racoon has gone through your trash, eventually you make the comment that raccoons like to go through and you'd better do something to protect your trash from raccoons. Now in your world, you'd say that not all raccoons go through all people's trash. Fair enough, but you still need to lock down your garbage to stop the ones who do.
-
Please do so and keep your racism to yourself. i think it's obtuse and lazy to use the word racism every time someone makes an obvious point about other cultures or religions. keep your laziness to yourself
-
Precisely. It is within closed societies that racism and bigotry grow. This is disgusting: Stop. I do not see borders either. You know diddly-squat about Islam and you are fabricating paranoia. Your rant is either pure racism or it is childish. I do not know how your "lefties" reconcile it but I will tell you how I do: the exact same way as I reconcile all violent crime. Some people are evil and some people do evil. I do not give a damn about blaming OTHER people who share similar ancestry or culture. You are painting TOO MANY people with the same brush. Do you even know anybody who is Islamic??? People like you are part of the problem. Grow up and stop spreading hatred!! aahhhh yes - i can hear the multiculti muzzak starting to play....ahhhhhhh ...goingggggggg baaaaack to sleeeeeeeeeeep...........eeeeeeverything ....willlll.beeeeee...........ok..............ignore.....the newsssssss....about daillllllyyyyyyyy.....suicide...........attaaaaaaackssss...............we're alllllllll......the sammmmmmeeee............everything.......is goinggggg.....to....be....okaaaaaaayyyyy...

You're missing my point. If we are to win, it will be by having confidence in our culture and traditions - not by knuckling under to each and every demand of militant muslims - just for the sake of "sensitivity" We need to draw a line. It is NOT acceptable for religious groups to intimidate governments, organizations, media or private enterprise into editing any and everything they find offensive. Since when do we have a right NOT TO BE OFFENDED anyway? This isn't about building a REAL fence, it's about building a virtual one - around who we are and what we believe in - freedom of speech, women's rights, peaceful protest (as opposed to violent intimidation). Did you know there was a Muslim MP in britain who came out after the London plane-plot arrests attributing the attack to “mounting frustration on the streets of the Arab world” over the west’s “perceived bias” on Iraq and Lebanon. Lebanon? Hey, why not? Reuters laid the August Heathrow bomb plot at the feet of Tony Blair for “refusing to call for an immediate ceasefire” in Lebanon. That’s right, folks. You don’t have to invade anyone, you don’t have to be supporting one side or the other even rhetorically, you don’t have to say a word on the subject. Simply being tardy in issuing a press release demanding a ceasefire is a sufficient “root cause”. Tony Blair is the root cause of jihad, and so is the Iraq war. And though neither explains 9/11 or Bali, nor why non-Iraq combatants such as Canada and Germany have been targeted, it’s apparently not self-evidently risible to the hundreds of reporters who type it up every other day. We need to stop our self-hatred of our own society - quickly looking at ourselves as the cause of every attack upon us or other innocent civilians. Haven't you noticed the Muslim fanatics have caught onto this societal self hatred? Keep in mind the old Arab saying "A FALLING CAMEL ATTRACTS MANY KNIVES" - and our attitudes of self-hatred and blame is percieved on their side as weakness. See the more we start to understand that they don't think the way we wo, the better chance we have of turning around this massive demongraphic trend before its too late- as it is in Europe.

You are only paying attention to one part of the story. England's biggest problem was with the South Asian immigrants who not too long ago were rioting in the streets. They have also had problems with the IRA and with Eastern European immigrants. I don't see you shouting about those. One country that has had a major problem with Moslems was France and that appears to be under control for now. You are seeing only what you want to see, just like Barbara Amiel. The difference, I imagine, is that you stand less of a chance of ending up in prison. "Under Control" as in the Middle East was "under control" for a few decades? Interesting you bring up the IRA. I used to get into big fights with my IRISH family about the IRA. I used to say how wrong terrorism was and how against the IRA militantism I was. And every other Irish person I knew (and know) favored the attacks. Heck there are even songs about it. This is an interesting phenomenon because I think it's a good parallel for Muslims. When the Irish (Muslims) are born and raised with tales about how terrible the British (Americans / Infidels) have treated their ancestors in the past, it's only natural that most Irish (Muslims) will grow up with a certain bad taste about the Brits (West / Infidels). This is what I think is likely going on in the mosques. While not all Islam is militant and violent, the great majority have a bad taset about america / infidels / the west and don't mind seeing the bombs go off - the same way many "non IRA" Irish secretly cheered when car bombs would go off in belfast...
-
Think about the country to the south of the USA, the flood of immigrants from that country and they're propensity to have LOTS of babies and I think yuo have your explanation.
-
Nope. And you are wrong - the only real trouble Europe is having is with one PARTICULAR group of immigrants. And even THAT is incorrect. Many of the London Tube bombers were not immigrants. They were Muslims, born and bred in England. That's the scariest part about the Muslim community - it sees itself as superior to you and me, and it does all it can to protect it's offspring from the "filthy pigs" (ie. non-muslims). Europ and Canada have a great deal in common - we both tried to create an atmosphere of tolerance which has since morphed into a nation with no identity. With no "Canadian" or "British" or "French" identity to fuse to, young Muslim men look to the strong, fierce and unequivocal idenity provided by radical Islam. This is why America may very well end up Alone in it's battle to protect the "western" way of life while other more "tolerant" societies buckle under the intimidation of "sensitivity".

Blame the society and culture - not the religion or race. Some cultures are toxic and we should not apologize for criticizing the culture. However, we have to be extremely careful to avoid over generalizing -> a single society will have many sub-cultures only some of which are toxic. Sure - but society and culture in the Islamic sense are all heavily indlunced by religion in Islamic countries. You must understand - Islamists don't see borders. For modern Islamists, the goal of having a worldwide Islamic Republic has nothing to do with having a flag and an Olympic team. It has to do with the level of influence teh religion has over the space. For example, the Fatwa against Salmon Rushdie was basically a transnational bounty placed upon his head by Ayatollah Khomeini and to be carried out by Muslims worldwide. The same is the case for Jihad or "a day of rage" over the pope's comments or the Danish Cartoons, or the Bruger King Chocolate Swirl.....or the...... Islamists think globally but act locally. All the lefties who were worried about "globalization" exploiting far away, backward countries are in for a big surprise. Cultural Globalisation works in the opposite way too - and those far away, porr backward countries who saw off heads and shoot women in the back of the head for extra marital affairs are exporting to US as much as we export to them. This is why we end up with a Muslim man in Paris who attacks his next door neighbour, shoots him six times in the chest and rips his face off with a fork...then walks back up the stairs shouting "now I can go to heavan, I have killed my jew." Multiculturalism is a pleasant thought when it involves a good selection of restaurants and some new music. And that's how alot of lefties percieve it. But how do they reconcile the backwards atrocities that occur daily in our "free societies" in the name of intimidation and Allah?

Well - Europe is going somewhere. We could learn from it.

Torontonians Ignore High American Culture.....
JerrySeinfeld replied to M.Dancer's topic in Canada / United States Relations
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto.../Entertainment/ Apparently, in some parts of the world (south of here) the Blue Man Group is considered high avant garde art. In Toronto, they were considered boring and idiotic..... Your use of the "Blue Man Group" as a cultural barometer provides us more insight into the commentator than the subject matter at hand -
Stick to the issues. Ad hominem gets us nowhere.
-
Listen. Instead of making your best (unsuccessful) attempt to be a smartipants let's get down to fact. Can I ask you a question because you seem to blindly support aspects of certain cultures that are clearly undesirable by western standards. So let's be upfront here: If a society has a practise of systematically abusing, gang raping, opressing and even murdering women. Or perhaps blaming women for being raped...is this something that should be condoned in your eyes?
-
I agree - devout christians have just as ridiculous language. Good thing they're not running around self-detonating and there aren't that many of them. Otherwise we'd have TWICE the problem we have now
-
Yeah? You personally polled these leaders or is that just what you suspect? Seriosly....since you obviously haven't taken any time in trying to find out what muslims really think, how would you hope to know what they condemn or approve outside of your own suspicions and uneductaed guess work? Actually I've taken a ton of time to understand what is going on in the faith and some of it is pretty scary. Someone very close to me has converted to Islam several years ago and I constantly engage him in dialogue about the faith. His answers are often aversive, frequently aggressive and commonly scary. When I asked him if he thought Iran should hav a nuke his answer was "it will ultimately be Allah's decision". Huh? What the heck does that mean. It not only avoids a direct yes or no question but provides a ludicrous response. This is how he thinks! When I asked what he thought of women's rights his response was bizzare. To paraphrase "I do not talk to any woman in a private room....an I will never look her in the eye....and when I speak to her it will never be with sweetness, but instead it must be firm and stern....a woman must not wear clothing which makes her a possible object of desire...." When I ask about violence he says "this does not represent tru Islam" - which I have found is the stock response to anything. The interesting thing is - what DOES represent it? As one politician once said "if I want to speak to Islam, what is the number?" There IS no head of Islam. It's a big hodgepodge of people interpreting it as they choose, from mosque to mosque and from country to country. That is why it is so easy for people to deflect any accusations of Islam as a violent religion. Just find one person in the crowd who can say "that is not Islam" and then it is so? If there is no clear definition of what is Islam...if there is no head, no leader, no direction (other than world domination), then who can deny or prove what does and does not represent Islam? You can't! All yuo can do is judge from what we see day in, day out in the news. And I think we all nkow what that is.

Not if Joseph Ratzinger can help it. Barbara Amiel said recently: "Pope Benedict XVI dropped one of his Prada shoes recently. We wait for another Prada shoe to drop." I can't wait! The pope sees something on the horizon that most lefties can't - there is a serious clash coming (and already here with many European nations) The Pope knows what's going on, most leftist Europeans are blind. Do remember though Jerry that the right-wing, traditionalist European movement isn't always so far from the center of things. France has a very strong nationalist, conservative group that has been viciously opposed to incursions on rights by Muslim immigrants... in fact, suggesting they take an Irish (another conservative policy) immigration policy of only bloodline members gaining citizenship (you must have very recent Irish lineage to apply). The problem, as I understand it , is that some of the new conservative movements in Europe are very hard line and bordering on racist. While this is a natural offshoot of whats happening in Europe, it's still not a good thing (and would be a good lesson for Canada and the US, where there is still a chance to preserve our national identity without going nazi). I don't think the key to the solution lies in lineage, but rather in true citizenship. Example: 50,000 "Canadians" in Lebanon? Did you hear since the 11,000 were evacuated (at taxpayer expense), 7,000 have since gone back HOME. Citizenship of convenience should becom a thing of the past. If you are not willing to carry a gun for yuor country, and in fact carry weapons on behalf of our enemies, you do not deserve a passport. Pure and simple. Actually, Harper is setting this type of legislation into motion, which is a ood first step to preserving what it means to be CANADIAN. If Canada continues as the "World's Biggest Hotel" (quoted from a famous author - who i think meant it to be a COMPLIMENT hahaha), then we risk becoming another husk of a nation - an empty shell waiting to be occupied by terrorist factions. France, Belgium, Denmark and Britain are already borderline which Afghanistan once was - a shell awaiting occupation by militant groups. Will Canada be next? It's still up to us.

I've noticed that the propensity for blanket statements here, by the left and right is quite normal, accepted even. Clearly racist statements are accepted as fact...... I'm sure if we look hard enough yoiu will find muslim leaders who support suicide bombings....and you will also find christian leaders who support direct action against clinics. But the clear indictaion by such blanket statements is that ALL MUSLIM LEADERS SUPPORT....yadda yadda yadda...... ....which without doubt is 100% unadulterated bullshit...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4556619.stm http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,163075,00.html http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews....;archived=False So now you not only have no problem with suicide attacks against civilians, but you also believe the drivel that is being fed to you by militant muslim leaders who have obviously learned in great detail how to manipulate the western squeemishness and knee-jerk poli-correctness to their advantage. You really should just convert.

I suppose Iran thinks so too. MAD isn't very effective on a culture whose chief export aside from oil is....young males who self-destruct. You're a few candles short of a birthday cake, aren't you? Now for 20 points and a chance to move on somewhere else....name one iranian suicide bomber in the last 10 years....heck...go 20 even.... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what color is the sky in your world. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3118456,00.html

When did this turn into a pissing match? Of COURSE I think it's wrong for christian fundamentalists to attack abortion doctors. It just so happens that they're not doing it on the global scale that Islamists are - which makes the Muslims a MUCH bigger problem in the world. As a sidebar (not that it makes it much better) the target of Christians is doctors performing abortions. The target of the blow-up male Muslims are...well......infidels. Basically ANYONE.

That's the great thing about bouncers - they're not subject to BS political correct rules. In other words - if you look like trouble - you're not in. Pure and simple. Meantime A guys named Mohammed breezes thru the airport scurity while grandma jones gets the full monty...

The most disgusting part is that you're willing to forgo a woman's most basic human rights to make some kind of ideological point (not quite sure what it is). Keep closing your eyes, guys. Global Warming and Smoking
JerrySeinfeld replied to BHS's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
So the world is warming up. That's a good thing - we live in CANADA! Besides, it's not like there's anything we can do about it.
