http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/canada-ranked-as-most-admired-country-in-the-world-report-1.2470040 What's it like living in a world where everything is in reality exactly the opposite of the way you see them? It must be tough. But it's true he isn't the soft, cuddly, silver spoon son of a former PM, strange isn't it though, i seem to recall plenty of complaints from liberals, even here in Canada, about the nepotism that got Bush the second elected President in the USA, but the liberal ventriloquist doll running here gets a free pass despite being no less stupid. I can only assume this disparity has something to do with the permanent state of cognitive dissonance his supporters exist in, this would seem to be validated by the statement you made and the link i provided to prove how utterly ridiculous a thing it was to write.

So I should work less, let my family have less while relying upon someone else to work more and help pay for my needs, and it's OK because i have a 'big heart'? Conversely should I work even more, (I worked more in just extra time last year than is required to qualify for EI) so the government can take more and give it to 'big hearted people'?, What happens when we all have big hearts but no one is willing to work to pay for them? Is that Nirvana? I don't concern myself with your income, but some of you surely do seem concerned with mine, but i'm sure you're just a distant observer, perhaps a millionaire with a big heart desperate to give your money away, there are things called charities for that, just an fyi.- 384 replies

So it's a chicken and egg endless loop in your mind....so if the niqab didn't exist, would we invent it just so we could be against it? Wow.- 384 replies

Is that how you get along each day? Believing you're more righteous than the other 90 percent of us, it doesn't occur to you that the portion you belong to might be small for o idk, exactly the opposite reason? Sort of like the goths that inhabited my high school all those years ago, a tiny group of people dressing like idiots collectively expressing their individuality while dressed like clones of each other thinking that everyone else were the losers, right, thats, what it is, you valiant few, you righteous few, if only you were in charge. Its no wonder you're ilk is so desperate for changes in the electoral system, how could you not think you should hold the balance of power when you have such a high opinion of yourselves and such a low one of the other 90 percent of us.- 384 replies

O so we don't need what you might call a professional or well known reputable journalists to confirm this, but a list of 'academics' no one has heard of is somehow an important measure of Harpers character. SIgh. -
Perhaps someone should study the correlations between the relative number of programs that are more frequented by people who tend to be left leaning in general, for example, how many conservative voters are taking a native and gender studies program?.., perhaps there is a little more to the numbers than the screechers would like people to know, Then considering the relative uselessness of most humanities programs combined with the relative stupidity of those who populate and teach them we could come up with some solid answers about the intellect or lack thereof of these so called 'academics' who don't support the conservatives. We could use former NDP candidate Alex Johnstone as a starting point for this premise, a school trustee, apparently one of these vaunted 'academics' with a graduate degree in Race, Class, Gender Dynamics In Interdisciplinary Teams, which didn't know what Auschwitz was. No doubt she would have signed the letter as an 'academic' if asked. Or maybe this garbage about 'academics' signing a letter should be forgotten for what it is, garbage, i am as much or more of an academic than most of them.

You put way too much stock in who is an academic, it's almost as though you think they must be smarter that other people, maybe smarter than you, but don't project that upon the rest. Btw, how many 'academics' are there in Canada, what fraction is the 600? Can you not see how irrelevant that is? No, really, CAN you? Of course and as usual, even if you could, you wouldn't care, it's just another non issue to screech about. FYi, i didn't sign the letter.

o no no, those posts are completely in line with the forum goal of better debates, they shall not be spoken ill of.

How many votes did it buy? How much impact could those numbers have on an election? How many of these refugees are even of voting age? Don't run away from it, you made a ridiculous claim, stand by it and tell us just how it is that the conservatives could think so few people could change a national election. o, and the answer, the conservatives are stupid, isn't an answer. Stop screeching and own up to how dumb a thought that is.
-
Yes the owner of that statement appears to be too busy to defend it, not that it can be, and it's just one more example of the screeching horde doing what it does, it never has to be true, the people who care about truth aren't the ones they are trying to attract.

It always becomes about what our beloved, infalible, handed down to us by the gods, charter has to say, which is ultimately the rock they choose to hide behind every time they run out of other arguments, as if the charter can't somehow be wrong, yes, it's good for women and our society in general that we simply accept this practice, and even if it isn't, but but but, the charter. There is no right or wrong, there is, THE CHARTER, in all it's glorious perfection.- 384 replies

Im no fan of Harper either, he is the best we have right now, in the only party that seems to exist in this reality, On the flip side of the coin, i don't want to elect Trudea or Mulcair, but i don't hate them, i think the country is stronger than whatever they might do, just as I do with Harper, compare that to the juvenile ranting of the left, that's where the biggest differences lie between the supporters of various parties imo. Even though I follow politics as much as most, I will not go half as crazy if Trudeau wins as his supporters have from day one done with Harper, and in my opinion that speaks very poorly or those people's ability to think like a rational adult.
