Out of those teams Anaheim, Pittsburgh, NYI, Minny and Washington easily have more depth than the Jets. Calgary and Vancouver have been playing very well despite their injuries, but their goaltending is also more solid than ours night-to-night. And for the majority of the season the Jets would have been in 2nd to 3rd place in the Pacific if they were in it, it's only now that they have really been turning it up. The Ducks also have an instant 82 man games lost because Souray is out for the season. At this point in the season, the most crucial point in the season, we have 7 players out, 5 of which play vital roles on the team. I think once we get Little back we should play better but without some of our better defencemen and with our lacklustre goaltending we may be looking towards the draft within the next 2 weeks. The draft is a long shot for sure but every game we lose may increase our odds. We are currently the 14th team in the lottery so that gives us a 1% chance of pulling the lucky ball. I think we are going to pull a center and a winger out of the draft regardless. I bet we grab Daniel Sprong for sure, unless someones beats us to it. If we could finish a little lower, possibly 19-21 we may be able to snag Rantanen or Zacha which would be perfect. Either of those guys would fit in really well in Winnipeg. The future is looking very bright for this team. If we end up with McJesus well, I can't even imagine. Ehlers-McDavid-? line would be fun to watch.

Winnipeg has been dealing with injuries all season, I'm actually surprised they have done this well considering pretty much everyone other than Andrew Ladd has been out for portions of the season. Myers, Little, Buff, Chiarot, Perreault and Glitsome are out right now, coupled with the fact that the goaltending has been rough lately. They are going to have a lot of trouble getting into the playoffs. All we can do at this point is hope we can string together a few wins and if not look towards the draft. The chances are slim but if we won the lottery I would probably have a heart attack, We will be in much better shape next season depending on who we re-sign. Ehlers, Petan, Morrisey, Armia and Hellebuyck are all going to be trying out for spots and it looks pretty good coupled with 2 first round picks this year that depending on who it is could fit into the lineup right away or at least within the next 2 seasons. I just hope the injury bug doesn't strike next year as well..

We have Connor Hellebuyck who is an absolute boss on the rock (st.Johns) despite playing for a pretty lackluster team over there and Eric Comrie in the pipes so I think the Jets management is weary of bringing anyone on anyone at this point. Hellebuyck will be trying out next season, possibly even in the playoffs, provided we make it, but until then we are forced to ride out the Hutch/Pavs tandem. If it was up to me I would have bought Pavelec out last season and given Hutch the starting job, while signing someone else to play back-up duties but I'm not in charge.

What a deflating loss, this has been the roller coaster that is being a Jets fan thisseason. Pavs has been an issue for this team for the last 3 years, I think I speak for every Jets fan when I say enough is enough. It's time for Chevy to finally give upon his golden boy. Pavs started this season as the starter but after a rough couple of games, Hutch was given a chance. He had an good run and during that time they gave Pavs a few more chances where he ended up playing pretty good as well. So for the Majority of the season we were rolling with the tandem until pavs starting losing more than he was winning so we kept trying to give hutch the reigns but he kept dropping the ball so to speak, so they starting rolling with as 2-1-2, hutch to pavs tandem into the all star break. Once we came off the break they both have been trending downwards. Before the all star break Hutch had a league leading gosls against average now he sits somewhere in the mid 20 area and Pavshas been even worse. They officially gave Hutch the starting job in February. All I can say is I can't wait for Hellebuyck to make the jump from the rock next season.

That's not proof, that's more speculation. The technology exists, you're just making excuses for it to not be used. I don't know why you would argue against something that only stands to make your life easier, even though you may not live to see it's use. -

Also do you have proof that there is a greater chance that a bunker would be in more widespread use than an automated vehicle? No? Oh ok, so it's just your opinion? got it. -

And your conclusion is based entirely on speculation as much as any other persons is. The fact of the matter is we will try and most likely succeed in finding alternatives to this problem that will move civilization along, much to your dismay. -

Again I point to those that thought computers would never develop beyond taking up an entire room. You can and most likely will be proven wrong. -
Looks like it's not just the Jets that take team meeting infractions seriously. Kadri was sent home after showing up late to a meeting. Team mates do hold each other to standards after all.

If you're worried about the bandwidth of transportation you should be worried about the bandwidth of all future transferable information systems. The Armageddon is coming, build your bunkers. The end is nnnnnnniiggghhh. Repent! -

haha just like Wilber said, it may not even be the same technology. It will happen. We are human, we overcome. Despite what the pessimists say. -

All the alarmists are screaming about this bandwidth problem we will face in the future. It will be overcome. Technology will improve and they will be proven wrong. Just like those who thought computers would be useless to the average human. -

Are you even being serious right now? Of course they will be in constant contact with everything around them at all times. That's the dumbest thing I've heard all day. Just like autonomous warehouse bots are in constant contact with each other to avoids collisions. It's literally just sending a signal to all cars within the area, if you don't think that technology will exist and exceed our expectation within the next 10 years you don't understand technology. -

Actually they have driven in the rain. Not the snow, not YET. But give it time, within the next 10 years minimum cars will be autonomously driving in all weather conditions. -

Your sky commuter will most likely never come in your life time. Autonomous driving might, not sure exactly how old you are. We have self-driving cars with thousand of hours logged, it's just a matter of making them affordable for the average family, that is what will take the most times as auto corporations tend to drag their heels on these sorts of things. -

You were promised nothing. The reality is this is what will happen as much as the cold-dead-hands generations drags their heels on it or not. The older you get, the more of a liability you are behind the wheel. -
Corsi or SAT as the NHL calls it is a great underlying metric used to measure the success of a team, but a terrible way to measure success of an individual. It works a lot like plus/minus but accounts for chances rather than just goals. It's a terrible way to build a team without using pretty much every other mainstream and advanced stat. On it's own it's pretty much useless, just as much as any other stat.

Actually there's thousands of hours of driving recording by google's autonomous vehicles that prove otherwise. Audi also have many hours of driving logged, that proves autonomous vehicles can drive in a safer manner than humans can. I'm sorry but as much as you'd hate to admit it, your time behind the wheel is numbered, so long as you make it until the first affordable autonomous vehicles hit the market. http://www.technologyreview.com/news/520746/data-shows-googles-robot-cars-are-smoother-safer-drivers-than-you-or-i/ http://www.cnbc.com/id/101981455 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/11350524/Driverless-cars-may-never-be-safer-than-a-human.html http://www.autoblog.com/2013/10/28/google-driverless-cars-safer-than-human-drivers/ http://www.driverless-future.com/ http://mashable.com/2012/08/07/google-driverless-cars-safer-than-you/ -

The fact of the matter is when corporations no longer have to rely on people to do their work, there will be more money to go around. Whether they choose to supply upper management with that money or their workers is up to them but I'm sure governments will pass laws that will not allow that to happen, it's he only way to keep civil order. It will be a slow change though so governments and corporations will have plenty of time to react. -

While I myself work 50 hours a week, more because I want to not because I have to, the world is working on average 40 hours a week. That need for more money will have to decrease as people work less or we will see a catastrophic capitalist system where the rich are hoarding far to much, more than they can ever hope to spend. I don't think any government will let it get to that point, at least I hope they wouldn't. With the way conservatives honeysuckle on corporations that's the way things may continue to go, all the more reason to elect leftist governments. -

But even with the risks associated with that, you are far more likely to kill a family driving on the Trnas-Canada then any machine, even after system failures are added into the equation. It's a liability to society to have humans driving, when machines are far more superior at it. Aircraft are a different story.
