Look, we've already gone over this whole "americans are the worst people in the world" routine and "the middle east would be milk and honey if not for those damn yanks". ISIL, Hamas, Hezbollah, Boko Haram and all the other groups are just freedom fighters, and the US, Canadian and Brits are all the real terrorists - I get it! I still prefer to side with the west. If you choose to side with Islam, that's up to you.

So, he's just a run-of-mill murderer?
-
What point? The barrier was broken down long ago. Nothing new has happened here.
-
So, in some twisted way, you believe that our acceptance of women military pilots is somehow misogynistic? WoW!
-
But there are women flying planes - lots of women, and they have been piloting planes for many years. Every type of plane from private to commercial to military jets - helicopters too.
-
Honestly, Ive never really considered feminism a "cult" before, but now that you mention it, feminism does have all the hallmarks of a cult.
-
It seems that the only people who care about the gender of this pilot are you people on the left - All the "big mean" righties don't seem to care. just as an experiment, Instead of saying first woman to fly an F-35, exchange the word woman with Isreali or Aussie, and see how patronizing your posts sound. When I read all these posts from you people, all I can think of is a lack of respect you guys have for this woman. She's a Lt. Colonel, she doesn't need your condescension.
-
No you haven't! So, I will. The first becomes insignificant when (and by people who) consider parties to already be equal. Why has there been articles about the first Aussie to fly that jet, Israeli, Dane, Brit - you name it - to no (or very little) public fanefare? Easy, they are considered by everyone as equals. I, and many of us here consider women as equal in the realm of flight and are therefore not as impressed as those of you who are manipulated by the feminist movement that wants to hold women's suffrage in perpetuity. When you start to consider women as equals, you too will be less impressed with their "firsts".
-
When does the first (black, white, jew, muslim, woman, midget, gay etc.) ...whatever, become insignificant? You started this line of conversation, I think you should explain.
-
And when is that exactly?
-
Because I feel that women pilots are a natural thing, you twist that to pretend that I'm threatened - wow dude, have another drink of kool-aid.
-
Lt. Col. Christine Mau: "But Mau says gender makes no difference in flying combat aircraft, something women have done in the U.S. military for more than two decades. "The plane doesn't know or care about your gender as a pilot, nor do the ground troops who need your support. You just have to perform. That's all anyone cares about when you're up there -- that you can do your job, and that you do it exceptionally well," she said in the Air Force statement."

I put you in the group of people who have been manipulated by a feminist group doing their best to stay relevant. This woman is not the first woman to fly a plane, she's not the first to fly a jet fighter, she's not even the first to lead a squadron. She is the first to fly a certain aircraft - that's it! Im as happy for her as i would be for the first man to fly the plane. But, as I said, that's not good enough, I am required from you people to give her extra props - right? Shame on you people for demeaning this woman.
-
I have high regard for anyone who flies a fighter jet. The fact that she's a female is not and won't ever be an issue for me. She's not blind, one armed or disabled in any way, she's not a bonobo...she's a woman - no biggie. A woman was chosen to fly this particular aircraft - end of. But that's wrong...isn't it? By not making a big deal of a woman flying a fighter jet, we're somehow in the wrong? Isn't this the response women should want? No! Ok, what responses are acceptable? 1) Women shouldn't be allowed to fly fighter jets...No! 2) Finally, a woman who can compete with a man...No! 3) No biggie, women can/should fly fighter jets...No! 4) Isn't it wonderful that a women is succeeding in the tyrannical mans world...Bingo! There is a type of reverse psychology going on here; by making such a huge deal out this, you people and especially the feminist group are very comfrortable in showing woman in a lesser role - still victims of a mans world. WCR is announcing some sort of accomplishment, but the underlying tone is "women are still victims". Once an occurrence becomes a "no big deal" event, victim status is no longer needed - and by extension feminism. It's actually kinda twisted how you people are using this pilot for your own agendas.
-
Which is exactly why terrorists hide in populated schools, mosques and hospitals to launch attacks.
-
So, are we supposed to go through this every time a woman flies a new aircraft? If we do, then that's more chauvanistic than us who don't seem to care one way or another. Besides, it's not so much an accomplishment as it is an honour bestowed upon her...likely from a man.
-
Who has done that?
-
Just because you father was a farmer (I presume), doesn't mean you should be a farmer. The point is; things you've learned and places you've lived played a huge part in what you've become and the belief system that you have. If you think that growing up in a different country, culture or with different people would still have you on the same path you're on today, then you'd be very naive.
-
Good grief...Yes, he is a terrorist, we all know that! Now, step 2 is why he is a terrorist, and you can ask why is anybody ...anything. People are what they are based on social, environmental and I guess you can add cultural circumstances. If he (or us) was a serial killer, drunk, athlete, Christian, Muslim...whatever - those are incidentals. What he is, is generally based on a belief system stemming from social, environmental and cultural circumstances...and that is...he's a terrorist. I am, what I am and you are, what you are based on a different set of social, environmental and cultural circumstances.
-
The fact that he's a terrorist is incidental. Our belief systems are generally based around our social and environmental state...and that's natural.
-
I think you misinterpreted my post.
-
I think it's great the a woman can fly a fighter jet, but I'm more proud of women (or anyone else) whose accomplishments are truly their own.
-
I don't think the USA has invented ISIS or any of the other terrorist groups. The whole idea that "without the americans intervening, the middle east would leave us alone and be a happy little utopia" is pure stupidity. Personally, I think maybe the world should leave the mid east alone and let them eat each other alive like rats in a bucket - but that's just me. Regardless of who is the worst terrorist, I still choose to side with the americans.
-
What of it? Legal or illegal is just politics. Why do the Americans have to get legal permission...and from whom? Their left wing counterparts, the UN? Sorry, when the Taliban, Hamas, Hesbollah, ISIS, Al Queida etc. don't need rules, why should the americans?
-
If he feels like he had a right to do what he did, fair enough. The question is; does he still feel that way? My money say's yes, he still feels the same...and why not, I assume you still have the same views as you did years ago.
