terrorists occupy gov't office in Oregon

No, they were going to a community meeting in Grant County, invited by county Sheriff Glen Palmer, a county Sheriff that called for the FBI to leave to help de-escalate the stand-off........ironically, LaVoy Finicum, was the Bundy spokesperson that got the Pacific Patriots/3%s etc to leave the refuge, to lower tensions from their end. Apparently, several of those arrested, through their single phone call, have confirmed Finicum was unarmed and shot on the ground/ with hands on head by the FBI........I assume State Troopers will have dash cam footage to be released forthcoming.... One thing is certain, right or wrong, the US Federal Government just made a martyr out of an old rancher with 12 foster kids.... -

I've heard from one source (take it for what it is), one of the group members got away with all the documents proving Government malfeasance, and is in contact with a Nevada State congressmen to deliver for safe keeping........ --------------- To add, from one of the guys in the refugee, prior to losing cellphone/internet service, they had numerous helicopters flying over......No reports of Nancy Sinatra's Boots are made for walking playing yet..... -

Ryan Bundy was shot with non life threatening injuries and LaVoy Finicum (The old guy with the tarp) was killed.........from the one of the groups live feeds (take that for what you will), Finicum was unarmed, shot twice in the chest with hands up, and three times on the ground by FBI.....this all during a traffic stop by State Police and FBI, well the group was going to another public meeting. ---------- Now the FBI has surrounded the refuge and the remaining members inside, who've said they won't surrender.......and apparently, members of the Oregon and Idaho militias are inbound.......could get really nasty. -
I have no qualms with private sponsorship, and I'd have no real issues with Government sponsored refugees, once we've addressed the Third World conditions many of the First Nations live in, likewise, affordable housing/services for low-income Canadians (1/3 rd being seniors). Charity starts at home.........not by putting Syrians up in hotels, some complaining they received better treatment in camps in Jordan (and want to go back), and draining the finite public resources......resources that will be further stretched with the downturn in the economy. We can step-up by sending aid (at a fraction of the cost) to the refugee camps in the Middle East, where some of these refugees had claimed they received better treatment.
-
Funny, we seem to be doing a pretty piss poor job helping Canadians........and we have Syrians living in Hotels complaining about services afforded to them, saying they had it better in camps in Jordan...... No, realists. We only have a finite amount of money, and Syrians shouldn't skip to the front of the line over needy Canadians, namely when we have Syrians here now complaining about trivial things and wanting to return to the Middle East.

I know, and my sister's school district had to hire an Iraqi translator (out of additional funding earmarked from the previous teachers and CUPE strike), when there is far more need for TA's for developmental children and aboriginal support workers.......Trudeau Liberals have yet to announce new money for Provinces, as such, the added costs for these refugees will come from something else. Pretty bad when we have people living in tents blocks away from BC Legislature, First Nations living in third world conditions across the country, single parent families living in one room rentals well waiting for housing etc, but we have money to put Syrians up in hotels in Canada's largest cities.....
-
How subjective......as cited, low cost housing in Ontario has an average of a 4 year wait list. Also, as cited, language training courses in BC have an upwards wait list of 1+ years. Here and here are two quick searches.........as noted, no announced additional funding from the Federal Government, as such, someone else will be picking up the tab of healthcare, education, language training etc.

Ahhh no, the elected Public Safety Minister acknowledged that there is no way to be 100% sure there are no terror suspects among the refugees, but feels the process is "strong and robust". Clearly the head of the FBI, one of the largest investigative agencies in the world, with an annual budget more than half our nations military budget, doesn't feel it can do a similar job, with less refugees over a longer period of time. Furthermore, as cited, the US DHS is now having a hearing with the US Senate over growing concerns for US security over the Liberal's Governments plan. Clearly the FBI and US security services don't share Goodale's opinion. I never suggested they do, as they are clearly the result of the additional failures of this program.
-
They won't, but they will dictate US policy towards Canada.........call it crazy if you wish, but if the head of the FBI says they are unable to screen less than half the numbers of refugees Canada is taking in, over a far longer time, it speaks volumes to how much our process was rushed.....which is evident by the issues found with the refugees that we've already brought in.

Trudeau 'revenue neutral' tax changes - not even close

Fair enough. Again, I wonder if things have been changed, as my wife was a fully accredited dentist (in South Africa) and was able to work as a hygienist in the center's dental clinic (which is a part of Texas A&M's dental collage) until she took/passed the State licensing board test.....maybe it's different rules again for physicians? I know they did have to pass State exams for sure. They bought an entire practice off a retiring physician (and expanded it into a small clinic), that stayed on through the transition. Under the investor entry program there is a benchmark for funds to be invested, I know they would have put in well over 100k. As I said though, your best bet is to talk to a lawyer.....the United States, like most countries, will/is facing a massive shortage of all healthcare practitioners. -
The cities they are being dumped in asking for this practice to halt is more than enough proof. Where they came from. The Government can pound sand, they created this mess, they can fix it. Where ever they came from......are you suggesting the Government should continue to keep them here against their will? You know this how? It's been reported countless times that most won't even receive English/French classes for years.
