  1. So forum rules on polite discussion can be put aside if its someone the poster didn't like? More so, if in past threads, team "x" insulted a favorite of team "y"? Like Professional Wrestling.........but for "adults"..
  2. Good, I see what you did with this thread......... Glib passive aggressiveness on the internet..........too much of a chickenshit to even put on the nose of an internet clown or "tough-guy".........does inflaming others over the passing of a little old lady compensate for something in your own life? Though I don't agree with Shady's attack, I'll give him credit, he let us know what he really felt.........you're just an asshole.
  3. I didn't suggest you did.........Patti Davis was as bad as Elton John, despite her parents positions on drug use.
  4. I don't know that I'd call you that......though perhaps distasteful, a "douchebag" serves a useful purpose.
  5. By that measure, I trust the latest thread will be locked? I don't agree with Shady's outburst, but I can understand it........I could almost fathom the rudeness in the Thatcher thread several years ago........but Nancy Reagan? Patti Reagan didn't agree with her parents either, but I assume with both their passing she was able muster as measure of respect(and maturity).......despite Nancy Reagan's parenting skills (or lack there of) and refusal to teach her daughter how to freebase cocaine.......
  6. Could be, but if its topical and not intended to derail/insult, I don't see the issue......likewise any other topical discussion with attached pictures/videos
  7. I agree 100%........textbooks, instruction manuals etc contain illustrations for a reason.....clearly the human exchange of information, for thousands of years, have contained more than simply text..........if the purpose of this site is the exchange of information, its remiss and doing a disservice in the exchange of ideas among thoughtful people..........what further beggars belief (ruling out an argument of bandwidth usage?) is that its restricted in the sections meant for thoughtful discussion on politics/current events/social policy etc, but is encouraged in the "lighter sections".......... Who would of thought a political website would sanction the posting of a compassionate political speech from a relevant person like Gov. John Kasich........but the posting of sports highlights, classic pop songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s and obscure Indie films is allowed........ To me, not that I have issue with off-topic banter related threads, there seems a disconnect in the original purpose of this website........that might explain the dwindling quantity and quality of use.
  8. I'm not too surprised with Kansas (or Louisiana/Kentucky assuming he wins), on paper, its within his wheelhouse of voters..........but Maine is different....that could be something, as I spoke to with regards to his performance on Super Tuesday....in which he did better than expected... We'll see how he does on Tuesday in Michigan and Mississippi.
  9. Oh, I see...nuance...like the similarity between Stalin and the rise of Sanders, that use(d) inflammatory rhetoric against capitalism and the elitist bourgeois........ Clips? Unlike Trump, how about actual policies enacted? Ahh no, you're incorrect.....and Trump further clarified his position today. Nice blog........but you suggested Mexican immigrants......none the less, his views on immigration haven't hurt him with Hispanics in the primaries. So where did he tell his supporters to assault protesters? Did Chretien's response to a protester also make him a Hitler? Sure, this was but public record............none the less, you suggest I'm poorly informed on Trump, yet you admit you've watched little to no coverage of the GOP primary, and misrepresent him with incorrect "facts".........after calling him Hitler 2.0...... I can't stand the guy, but am far better informed on him than you, likewise wouldn't compare him to Hitler anymore than I would Sanders to Stalin........as that would lower discourse......like what you're doing, and I can only assume this is the case, not because you're lying, but as suggested by the OP, you truly fear Donald J Trump............if the irony wasn't so sad it would be hilarious, in that those that fear him (like you), accuse Trump of fanning the fears of his own supporters......... So who is fanning your fears of Donald Trump?
  10. No, that would be both stupid and baseless.........just as stupid and baseless as comparisons between Trump and Hitler. Like Carter did with Iran during the hostage crisis.........or Trudeau excluding young, single Muslim male refugees from Syria. What did he advocate? I know he's supported waterboarding and rendition.......but then, so to did the Bush and Clinton administrations, likewise countless administrations, to various degrees, before them even. How is his position different than Obama's drone strikes, which have attacked funerals, weddings etc? When did he do that? I know he's said some of the illegal immigrants are criminals and drug smugglers etc......but then, entering the United States illegally would make one a criminal.........none the less, it doesn't appear his remarks have hurt him among Hispanic voters........ When did he do that? When did rudeness equate to being Hitler? Bill Clinton or JFK's actions were far worse........do you consider him/them to be another Attila the Hun? Right, he clearly misspoke......instead, he should have referred to the Bush administration lifting airspace restrictions on 9/11 that allowed Saudi's to leave the country....confusing facts does not make one a "Hitler" though. So? Obama was supported by known bigots.......doesn't make Obama a "Hitler"...... Ahh this entire subject was started by you, I called such statements into question and suggested they lower discourse.
  11. Like Sanders or Stalin with the elitists? Odd that Trump beats Rubio and Cruz with Hispanic voters....... When did he do that? Has Obama not killed terrorists families at weddings and funerals? Oh......like Trump.........I don't know that Stalin spoke of violence, racism and torture openly when he ran Pravda. When did Trump court the KKK/David Duke? Odd that he would court an anti-semitic group when his daughter and grandchildren are Jewish.......
  12. Right, just like Sanders now, contrasted with Stalin a century ago during the October Revolution.......doesn't Sanders call his rise in popularity a revolution too? Couldn't the same be said with the Democrats and Sanders? Again, that is my point, comparing Sanders to Stalin is as stupid as comparing Trump to Hitler.........or Bloomberg to Pinochet etc............doing so only lowers the level of discourse.
  13. And Jimmy Carter did that with Iranians in the later 1970s........
  14. Ahhh no, Trump's message sales pitch is one of a "Fortress America", insulated from what many feel are outside predators........Sander's message is exactly the same, but replaces illegal workers and terrorists with globalization and anti-corporate capitalism themes.......... That a racist segment of the population supports Trump is no different than Obama being supported by Louis Farrakhan.......yet nobody suggests Obama is anti-semitic. Likewise, if one were to go through Sanders supporters they would also find countless kooks.........that is but part in parcel with being on the fringes of society and in turn politics................
  15. Ahhh but that's my point, in that its an insane comparison..........though Sanders and Trump share many similarities (populism, anti-establishment, protectionism, praying upon people's fears, be they Muslims/Mexicans or evil bankers/corporate elites etc), neither is a despot in the making, nor do neither have a hope in hell in winning a general election........suggesting they are a redux of evil from history back only lowers discourse. And as I said above, you could place similar traits with Sanders by tweaking each other's objet du jour........they both speak to the same type of crowd, in the same manner, but with every so slight differences. Doesn't make Sanders a Stalin. nor Trump a Hitler though....... How is it "more possible" that Trump is Hitler 2.0? I've read both Art of the deal and Mein Kampf......both very different reads, from two very different people......... Trump is not a new Hitler.......more so the new P.T. Barnum of his generation......
  16. Far be it for me to defend Trump, and I'm not a fan at all, but that is both overly dramatic and would be akin to suggesting Bernie Sanders was the next Stalin because he rallies his supporters with anti-capitalism tones combined with ultra-statism.........let us not forget, Uncle Joe killed far more (of his own) people than Hitler........sounds pretty stupid doesn't it? Godwin's law aside, the 25th amendment (section 4), combined with the Pentagon's nuclear SIOP would prevent a President Trump from nuking someone that insulted him on Twitter....... How is that? I suppose any politician that appeals to the masses through populism would also have the potential makings of another Hitler (or Stalin....or Mao...or Pol Pot etc) by that measure, and of course, that would include the likes of Obama, Sanders and even our own Trudeau.......
  17. Right, and there be the problem.........and is why a brokered convention is possible, absent one of Cruz or Rubio dropping out yesterday. I think you missed my point, Trump was suppose to run the table minus Texas......but he lost Alaska and Oklahoma to Cruz, and Minnesota to Rubio......and very nearly lost both Arkansas to Cruz, Virginia to Rubio and Vermont to Kasich.......the point, going in, Trump was expected to win all of said States (minus Texas) with ease.....but didn't. That is why I wonder if there has been a shift in the race, a shift that might very well see neither Cruz or Rubio winning the nomination prior to the convention, but also preventing Donald Trump from doing so. -------- If this weekend's States, then next Tuesday's States, all split among the three proportionally like they did last night, going into the March 15th winner take all States (Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Illinois and Missouri), we could quite easily see one of Cruz or even Rubio pull ahead of Trump....who despite all the hype (or doom and gloom), is only ~100 delegates ahead of Cruz, and ~200 and change ahead of even Rubio.... My point, there is plenty of race left, and Trump is still ~900 delegates away from a victory lap........
  18. My source is correct, but if you feel you need confirmation, you can see here: And if you're still unsure, feel free to read the entire RNC convention call here.
  19. No Republican candidate? Even "W" had a good showing North & South........ Right, but Cruz is only a couple mid-sized States behind Trump......I can't see Cruz packing it in anytime soon. Right, but I wonder how much the coverage and tone would change in a general......... Trump nomination = a 2020 GOP primary thread on MLW
  20. Did you not, as you've done countless times, suggest the F-35 couldn't "dog-fight"? That is clearly countered by an actual F-35/F-16 pilot above.... Likewise, in this very thread, you suggested that software "delays" would delay the IOC by upwards of four years (I can quote you if you like) of the F-35........yet from your above link: . Thanks for confirming my point.............
  21. As would I, but they have to continue to play spoiler with Trump and hope for a brokered convention.......my question, is Trump's performance last night, not sweeping the States (absent Texas) as expected, an indication that the tide is starting to change for Trump.......and if so, is it too little too late?
  22. By all means, but it is incorrect, as this is the first election of the changed GOP rules:
  23. Right, and their are ongoing, potentially lethal, "mysteries" with the Super Hornet and Hornet families......problems that have yet to be addressed by either Boeing or the end users.
  24. Your "points" run contrary to an actual F-35 (and former F-16) pilot, which directly remarks on the available power between both the F-35 and F-16.....likewise, as already cited, your "concerns" over the software, which have already been countered and put into context, over which, have no baring of the IOC of the F-35 with the USAF or the USN.
  25. So? Again, as addressed numerous times, said aircraft wasn't an operational type and said flight was used as a calibration for the aircraft's flight safety margins......... Maybe its time you started repeating more current mantras.........and explain why an F-16 pilot, now flying with a unit that transitioned from the f-16, says the F-35 is a better dog-fighter than the F-16............an actual person that is current in both aircraft, and shoots down your repeated claims quite soundly.......
