In addition, this budget targets both seniors and middle class families with children........groups that elected this Government to a majority and will do so again this fall. Likewise, it backs both the NDP and Liberals into a corner, which historically campaigned on bribing Canadians with their own, more likely other people's, money on social programs.........There is no money left for such promises, unless an NDP or Liberal Government either raises taxes, cuts Government spending in other areas or claws back these recent tax cuts/credits......... And even if they do, with the Liberals stating they will claw-back TFSA/income splitting and NDP raising corporate taxes, they still won't have enough revenue to implement National Daycare, Post Secondary education programs or vast transit and infrastructure programs....... ------ With this budget, Government spending/revenue, as a percent of GDP, is at its lowest since the 1950s.........and with another Majority this fall, I expect it to go down even further (even with the eventual rise again in the price of oil), with such tools as lowering the EI premium (which currently takes in more then it sends out) and perhaps further changes to the tax code, building upon income splitting, granting the allowance to families to file a single tax return, like is done in the United States............and to "pay for it", I'd expect a further shrinking in Government, namely programs and departments that do little (politically) for the Government.......bye-bye CBC.
-
Right you are.......let's also remember that over 10 1/2 million Canadians have TFSAs, of them, ~50-60% earn less than 60K a year (80% earn less than 80k) and that over half of TFSA holders are seniors (that have enjoyed income splitting for some time)........seniors vote.......... ----------- Trudeau's promise to reverse the TFSA limits just ensured another Tory majority this Fall......
-
That's subjective.......nearly 2 million families, with children under 18, will save $1140 per year and when averaged over the 4 million families with children under 18, an average of $524 a year...... I hope Trudeau considers annual tax relief like that for Canadian families to be worth only a few votes........
-
Husk for votes or return money to taxpaying Canadians that also vote........I hope both the Liberals and NDP continue to campaign on tax increases/claw-backs and deficit spending..........and must not forget Greenshift 2.0 And what is wrong with "back loading"? Some consider budgeting for future needs, then purchasing when finances allow, to be prudent........something the Ontario Liberals are currently learning the hard way.

No, this Government will spend ~$1.4 billion less than it takes in.......what are you talking about?
-
.......Good thing then the Government didn't dip into its savings account. Now the Liberals and NDP can explain to Canadians why its alright to live off of ones credit cards..... All in all, a small-c conservative budget, with no thrills or gimmicks, leaving next to no money for the Opposition parties to attempt to bribe the voters with.....unless they're willing to either put it on the charge card or roll back tax cuts, which will be made law prior to the election, in effect, increasing taxes on potential voters...... This is the budget, as I've been predicting on this site since the last election, that will return the Harper Government to majority this coming Fall.

And is one of the oldest professions.......another way to look at it, after a national force, defense contractors mercenaries fill a void that historically was was filled via conscription of the populace. -

So you won't be stating which Bill you claim was quashed, nor the text of it that you suggested contained a portion pertaining to regulations for the storage of ammo............... -

Which Bill did they quash, and in said Bill, where are the regulations for storing ammo? -

You didn't? So what "bill" could get a person "indicted" for storing their ammo improperly? -

Yet, in the cited quotes of yours, you clearly state ammo only...........to clarify, you're now in agreement that there are no storage regulations, per the Firearms Act, encompassing the storage of ammunition? -

Canada Supreme Court Rules Against Harper Again
Derek 2.0 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, you've been suggesting there are laws pertaining to the storage of ammunition.........which there are not..... likewise I've never suggested there were not laws pertaining to the storage of the various classes of firearms, laws that are both applicable to my household and which I fully understand and maintain compliance with. Laws that you, along with many Canadians (including some within law enforcement and the legal system) do not understand, which can largely be attributed to how poorly written and vague said laws are........a clear demonstration on why the Firearms Act is one of, if not the most, badly written piece of legislation in Canadian history. -

You realize you're quoting the safe storage regulations pertaining to a non-restricted firearm right? Swing and a miss........ -

No, I'm not.........the storage regulations, per the Firearms Act...........feel free to point out the ammo storage regulations. -

Derek 2.0 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Those aren't ammo storage regulations, but safe storage regulations pertaining to firearms........and of course, you've even failed repeating those laws, as its perfectly legal to store a non-restricted firearm, trigger locked or with the bolt removed, next to ammunition. -

Derek 2.0 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm not chasing my tail, my position and the laws cited for you are quite static...........and clearly you don't get what they're saying, or you would have already outlined from the Canadian Firearms Act your suggestive ammo storage regs.......... Since you're unable to, when the actual law is provided for you, I'll leave you now to your logic vacuum........if you wish to continue this discussion, you'll have to outline these ammo storage laws (which there aren't any) you keep suggesting are there......... -
Yet their competitors, due to lower overhead, are just as competitive in urban markets............ As to Bunge's purchase, the answer is still the same as the last several times you've asked it. The Canadian Government is barring investment in Bunge ltd or the other, cited for you, companies (some Canadian) already in industry? That's news........I don't suppose you have a source? No, G3/Bunge Ltd, the former CWB, does not control marketing of Western Canadian grain.........as already cited for you. Years past, the CWB did control marketing, likewise decided how much and what types of crops Western farmers could grow.......

Canada Supreme Court Rules Against Harper Again
Derek 2.0 replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ahhh not quite, it speaks to a restricted firearm stored in your non primary residence, not listed upon a RPAL holders LTATT.........but any legal gun owner can store as much ammo as they want within their cottage, basement, garage, wood shed, buried in a hole in the backyard etc, as there are no ammo storing regulations under the Canadian Firearms Act absent a firearm (as I've stated numerous times to you) If you feel different, cite the section pertaining to ammo storage requirements from within the Firearms Act.........But you can't, as there isn't any. -

Where does it speak to the ammo storage requirements as you suggest, thus supporting your incorrect claim? -
I assume you mean the Coppermine......funny enough, it starts far enough South that it begins within the tree line and empties in the Arctic ocean near Kugluktuk.

I'm not asking you to do my research........I already fully understand the topic. What is being asked of you is to support your claim (which you can't). Here is the SCC judgment, by all means provide the text that you feel supports your point. I'll await your cited reply.
