  1. Not quite, the several linked Government sights do list specific models that were banned by name through the Liberals firearms act, likewise (as confirmed by your Mauser source), the Liberal's Firearms Act's new criteria that banned ~50% of prior legal handguns with a stroke of a legislative pen.............The Liberal's Firearms Act, at the time, by requiring handguns with no shorter than a 4.2" inch barrel, in addition to the Liberal's banning of all handguns in .25 & .32 ACP did ban a substantial number of handguns, handguns that were then on the cheaper side to purchase and operate, effectively then making handgun ownership cost prohibitive for most Canadians........ It was a poorly researched document, as I demonstrated by linking to a Canadian online store that does sell such firearms (it states as no longer obtainable).....in the case of the two examples from said store, per the current definition of the Liberal Firearms Act of what constitutes a non-restricted and restricted semi-auto rifle (Semi-auto rifles with barrels shorter than 18.5" are deemed restricted), the FN FAL with a 21-22" inch barrel should be non-restricted, where as the H&K 91 with a barrel under 18.5" would be considered restricted.......yet both firearms are deemed Prohibited? Why one might ask, the reason is simple, the Liberal's Firearms Act, despite the classification criteria, Prohibited by firearms by name (as demonstrated in my prior Government sources) by name........there are countless other examples fostered by the Liberal's Firearms Act. I'm not wrong Waldo, for if I were, you would have cited but one firearm (by model) that the Government of Canada confiscated from lawful owners prior to the Liberal's 1995 Firearms Act........forget three, name just one!!! No need to attempt to verse me in it, I've spoken to the grandfathered licenses in numerous firearms threads, my father currently has a 12.6 endorsement and my late uncle held a 12.2-6 license..........What you fail to mention, prior to the Liberal's Firearms Act, there was no license classes, and that owners of said firearms could use said firearms lawfully and transfer ownership among family and other lawful owners. Likewise, and more pointedly, you;ve failed to mention what happens to said firearms once the current owner no longer maintains said license (dies).......they are confiscated (sans 12.6 firearms produced prior to 1949 that can be transferred to a blood relative with a restricted license) by the RCMP and deposited into a smelter.....without a cent of financial compensation to the prior owner's estate........ By all means, continue to highlight another negative aspect of the Liberal's 1995 Firearms Act.....the generational confiscation of lawfully obtained firearms through "grandfathered" licenses. Which one(s)? By all means highlight, just one, firearm prior to the Liberal's 1995 Firearm Act, that was confiscated by Government......just one Waldo!!!!!
  2. What makes you say that? As your link states, the investigation started in April of this year.
  3. Nice dodge on naming the three firearms banned prior to the 1995 firearms act.........as to your link from Mauser, one problem: The opinion piece is poorly researched and runs counter to fact........likewise, as I already cited from two Government sources which you refuse to address, from your own link: 12.6 handguns as I already cited, with supporting Government sources, to demonstrate that it wasn't until the Liberal 1995 Firearms Act did the gun grabbers start grabbing Canadian's guns........now once more, list just three models of firearms, as I already asked of you and you dodged, that were confiscated wholesale prior to the 1995 Liberal Firearms Act (In 1969, 1977 and 1991)........ Oh, and thanks for confirming my point with your source..........and yes, I do know what I'm talking about, just as I know that you will be unable to list three, let's make even easier, list one model of firearm that was confiscated wholesale prior to the 1995 Liberal Firearms Act.......just name one model Waldo....just one!!
  4. Aerosmith was great in the 70s......
  5. I agree, its hard to pick a Zeppelin album, I went with IV growing up because it was the most played (on radio and my house) at the time and I saw them live in '75 (touring for Physical Graffiti) in Vancouver, the songs from IV, in my opinion, were always of the utmost prominence live........with that, I listen to most today III, BBC sessions and In through the out door for whatever reason.
  6. All good, but outside Rush and ZZ-Top, I didn't personally grow-up with the selections........listen to and enjoy them all though.
  7. Weasel response? In both my Government links pertaining to the guns banned by the 1995 Liberal Firearms Act, the detailed list and criteria for then guns to be banned is clearly highlighted, including specific models and calibers of firearms, likewise both the date the legislation was tabled (1995) and when it came into force (1998)........ Now the onus is on you, if you want to continue, and cite just one model of firearm that was banned with legislation in 1969, 1977 and 1991 (feel free to include anytime in between, up to the Liberal's Firearms Act) versus my cited sources.........feel free to name just 3 specific firearms banned within the ~25 years prior to the Liberal's gun grabbing in the 1990s........ I'll save you the Google-Fu efforts, you won't be able to........
  8. And with a demonstration of simple democracy, Trudeau's overture to team Soudas has been rejected by the local, Liberal riding membership: This is not only a rejection of Adams, but the first cracks in the Trudeau brand.........
  9. Indeed, threatening one region, in effect playing it against other regions, in ones own country works great, look no further than Yugoslavia in the later 1980s.....
  10. Well done, and in 1969: What firearms were deemed prohibited and restricted, contrasted with the Liberal's Firearms Act of 1995? And what guns were banned with that legislation? (none) In 1977: What firearms were banned with the 1977 legislation? (none) In 1991: What firearms were banned in 1991? (none) Thank you for confirming my point!!!!! At no time, until the passing of the 1995 Liberal Firearms Act, was the sale, possession and use of any lawfully obtained firearm within Canada negated by Government legislation.....
  11. What are you on about? As cited, the current definitions, created in the 1995 Liberal Firearms Act, which came into force December 1st 1998 are the laws that define what is a prohibited, restricted and a non-restricted firearm, of which (as already outlined) the banning by the then Liberal Government of the then new prohibited class......... I don't know what 1969 law you're attempting to cite, the American Gun Control Act of 1968 perhaps? A presumptive Canadian law at that time, I would assume, sans your clarification, mirrored the American law of the previous year, and required serial numbers on all firearms then produced domestically or imported, likewise restricted the production, importation or sale of government surplus machine guns for the civilian market....a ban if you will, but said law did not limit the possession, sale or use of said machine guns already in circulation.......no banning of guns already in the possession of Canadians then. The 1977 PET law saw the creation of our first attempt at gun licensing, the firearms acquisition license (FAC), which a presumptive gun owner required if they purchased a firearm(s), not for firearms they already owned, zero guns were banned as a result. The 1991 PC law, post Polytechnique, introduced a waiting period, references for applicants and a required safety coarse. In addition, introduced magazine restrictions for semi-auto and select fire firearms, and (IIRC) banned the use of flechette and explosive ammunition....again, no guns were banned in this period. Sorry, your outline is incorrect.........
  12. I didn't ignore it, I quoted it...........what are said "tools" suggested by Mulcair? When he spoke to said "tools" last December, he spoke to the creation of an NDP "registry", different and better than the previous Liberal registry........... So, the NDP can now outline their plans, or, as I said, we will do it for them, as there are over 2 million voters with a vested interest.
  13. The prohibited class was created by the Liberal's Firearms Act.......prior to said Liberal Firearm Act, said prohibited firearms were perfectly legal to purchase, posses and use....... Prohibited firearms are banned......as in, if the Waldo obtained his firearms license today, the Waldo could not legally purchase a prohibited firearm, a firearm that was not prohibited ~20 years ago, prior to the creation of the (linked to) list.
  14. I quoted it already: And what, as I asked, are said tools? Late last year, Mulcair cited said tools as: Hence my question regarding the NDP's hidden agenda.......so what gives?
  15. Eliminator would, without a doubt be in my top-ten.
  16. I linked, from two Government sources, the exact criteria for all guns that were banned, in addition, guns that were banned by name, with a detailed list. As to rationale and political guidance, as I said, I like the other 2 million+ legal gun owners have no idea why or how the then Liberal Government did what they did..... If that is not "good enough" for the Waldo, then we're done. RCMP CFC Criminal Code
  17. Per the Toronto Star: Hence the soon to be loud calls to explain said details, of said hidden agenda......if they don't, the Tories will for them.
  18. Without a doubt, in this case, the very fact that after Mulcair spoke to an NDP registry, several NDP MP (Charlie Angus) quickly "corrected him" in a public fashion........it is clear that the NDP does have a hidden agenda for the 2 million+ Canadian gun owners.
  19. Under the Liberals Firearms Act there was both an arbitrary criteria created for all guns, added to certain guns that were banned by specific model name...... There is none, if you can find an official rationale, by all means, let me know and I'll pass it along to gun owners that have been asking the same questions since the 1990s...... If someone can explain why a fifty year old Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver with a 4" barrel should be banned, but a S&W Model 10 with a 4.2" barrel is perfectly legal, I would love to know......likewise why the SPAS-12 shotgun (Arnie's gun from Terminator) was banned by name, but a whole host of similar shotguns are still non-restricted......or why the infamous AK-47 was banned, including semi-auto only and rimfire (pop-guns) were banned, but the Finnish produced Valmet 78 (an exact and improved copy of the AK-47) is left non-restricted and was even supplied, by the then department of Indian Affairs, to numerous First Nations bands for hunting......... If you can understand the logic, by all means, I'd love to hear it. I have no idea, it even stymies legal experts that specialize in it.....that's not to say some aspects aren't self-explanatory, like licensing or safe storage requirements, to many (even most gun owners) these are common sense..............but the countless illogical classifications remain a mystery, namely when contrasted with somewhere like New Zealand, where it is very simple: Machine guns and select fire military rifles require license "x" Handguns require license "y" everything else requires license "z" If the progressive Kiwi's are able to accommodate licensed gun owners, well not endangering public safety (in nations where most of the police aren't armed), what is the difference between us and them? Not the least, as the "gun grabbers" and lawful authorities have no idea where the vast majority of firearms are located across Canada, hence, what is there to hide?
  20. In principle*, nothing really other than the PITA and waste of money and resources that could be spent going after the black market, where most crime guns are obtained anyways ..........of course, the dishonesty is found within the disarmament agenda being pushed by its biggest backers......the political gun grabbers understand to take a gun, they need to know where said gun is first... This of course rung true in the later 90s as newly registered firearms were then banned, and in most cases said owners, that obtained them lawfully, and then lawfully registered them, were then forced to then hand them in after said guns being made illegal after the fact, without even so much as compensation. Why would we trust another go around? *Restricted and Prohibited firearms are still registered, and with handguns, have been since the 1930s.
  21. Yup, though I was too young to appreciate the Doors until several years after his death.
  22. For most and myself, the political dishonesty by those pushing it.......with that, half my "arsenal" is registered (just registered another on Thursday afternoon actually) regardless. The better question, as asked, why is the NDP hiding their agenda?
  23. I agree, Bolan died waaaay too young, same as Morrison and Ronnie Van Zant....
  24. I agree with Zeppelin II and Sundown (would both make my top ten), but I'll add: -Zeppelin IV -Rolling Stones: Let it Bleed -Waylon Jennings: Honky Tonk Heroes -The Eagles: The Long Run -Derek and the Dominos: Layla and other assorted love songs
  25. Not at all......most gun ranges are in the boonies anyways (noise), one of my old ranges when I lived in Metro Vancouver was an 1 1/2 hour drive each way from home, even though there was an indoor range 10 minutes away.
