  1. This is great stuff but it's also serves the purpose of bringing back the rabid right Ron Paul supporters to a little reality: Myself as a leftie, and keeping in mind that I'm not a jew hater, I can go along with Ron Paul most of the way on this. Where I have to stop is where he advocates taking 'all' of Israel away from the jews. That's just over the top in anti-semitism in my opinion and I would only advocate going back to the UN's mandate of borders before the 67 war. The question is, how is that going to sit with righties who pound their bibles and maintain that their god has ordained it, blah, blah, blah? Ron Paul has about as much hope as a fart in a wind storm! http://www.balloon-juice.com/2011/12/26/im-not-homophobic-i-just-dont-like-being-around-gays-and-their-bathrooms-scare-me/
  2. Without getting into a lot of detail on Ron Paul's agenda, the reason why it is ridiculous is because it will never be successfully brought about. Let's take his agenda of bringing all the troops home immediately for an example. First of all there is absolutely no way that his own party would ever back that idea. The Repub party is deadon opposed to doing that and so is the Dem party to a lesser extent. If anybody wants to be honest about this they would have to admit that Obama's smallish and token move to end the Iraq war and bring home the troops has been solidly condemned by the Republican party. So there's perhaps the best example because it's his own party that would stop him, but including a lot of paid off Dems as well. This, as well as the rest of it is nothing more than pie in the sky which will never happen. RIDICULOUS!
  3. Can one of the Christians here tell me: The bible seems to promote the young earth theory so I would suppose that is supposed to be taken literally. Therefore my question is, is there a possibility that science is wrong and the earth is really quite young?
  4. I don't quite understand why some righties are trying to say that some lefties are Christians? Of course some are and that was something that was never up to be questioned. What is also true is that far more righties are Christians and especially hardline Christians then are lefties. Hence I say that the right nearly owns religion. In most circumstances they would be trying to tell us just that! This is about as silly as righties trying to redefine what liberals or liberalism is. If liberalism connotes something good then the right will try to say that the left aren't true liberals.
  5. Ron Paul's agenda is so ridiculous that it shouldn't be taken seriously. Why does anyone? Nobody should think that American citizens would ever submit to such outlandish changes and nearly total abandonment of so many of the country's social measures. His agenda is promoting something similar to Dickensian England. I suspect that any fairly intelligent American must understand that and are only continuing to play Ron Paul's game in the interim until the repubs are ready to be more serious. Whackos like Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Santorum and co. are not serious!
  6. Gee Shady, you agree with me on Harper being most wooden and then say my premises are all false and/or ridiculous. Like it's sort of suggesting that I said something about his competence? You sound confused on that.
  7. If you consider that I will soon own this forum Shady, you may be able to understand why I wanted to lay claim to a title as soon as possible.
  8. I hereby lay claim to the record on this forum for having the most number of views without any other member posting on the thread. 44 so far!
  9. Mostly I'm implying that the Christians are more likely to be righties than lefties. The right practically owns the sky fairy thing. The two are analagous in so many ways but then strangely not alike in that christianity preaches love they neighbour, looking after the poor, blah, blah, and then turn around and do the opposite while the left does the job. And the left does it not because of what the bible tells the left to do. Go figure!
  10. NWRS says: Yeah that. tell me again in a year's time.
  11. Manny asked: Good one Manny! Yes, it's norma for any news outlet. The first question to ask is, 'how offensive is the candidate'? This is softball compared to how O'Reilly interrupted president Obama over 30 times in an interview. But Obama didn't have to pull his mic off and he didn't have to try to avoid any of the questions. If Obama had any serious flaws then the interview would have gotten reall ugly. But alas, O'Reilly tried every dirty trick in the book and failed. It's the politician ya know, not the interviewer or the t.v. station. To prove this all an interviewer would need to do is ask Michelle Bawwwkman why she believes that evolution is not a valid scientific theory and it would get ugly again. And who could blame the interviewer on that one. Like, it would be like trying to blame Couric for asking Palin what books she reads! It can't get any dirtier than that could it!!!
  12. Wooden? That's an understatement August. The best display we ever got to see of that piece of rotten deadwood was when he was saying goodbye for the day to his 5 year old son and he shook his hand. And that's supposed to be our P.M? He comes off to me as that little boy who the kids used to pick on because he was so different and such a stupid looking little pansy. Now he's going to get even with all of us for what his childhood made him. This is very often what motivates rabid righties like Harper to seek power. Now what else could motivate these people like Harper to work so hard to hurt people with less power than themselves?
  13. because he loved him! It can't be said any better than this. Go to Richarddawkins.net to see the video. And do it today!
  14. cybercoma has given us all the best defence of Ron Paul that could be offered. Good work cybercoma! You've shown us that Ron Paul is not the only racist pig we have to deal with! And the second best defence of Ron Paul is to hear his followers ignore his racism. That's exactly what I predicted they would do. They see it as quite unimportant and I have to wonder if that's because it's something they would say themselves. Actually I wouldn't have expected a better defence of Ron Paul than this second best one but I was surprised. It seems that hypocrisy has risen to a new level.
  15. Now that's just plain silly to think that I would accuse 'all' righties of being kristyuns. Read what I said please and then try again to separate the political right from christianity. And then you could maybe try to tell me that the political left is more christian if you think that would work? Uhuh! Fact is the right is further gone than the left but the whole US is way too far gone. And that's why the whole issue that relates to the topic of this thread exists. christians care a lot about fetuses but very little for women and living people in general. Hence, overflowing jails and criminals running rampant on the streets, all armed to the teeth.
  16. That performance that started around the 6 minute mark was laughable but what really blew it for Ron Paul is when he started stumbling around trying to rip his mic off. This is nearly as bad as Palin being asked what she read and then trying to blame Couric for trying to trap her or whatever. Ron Paul is going to have to stand up better to the media questions or he will have to do the 'Palin' technique. That is, make sure the media doesn't get close to him. But alas, Ron Paul took his best shot at diffusing the allegations and he failed miserably. He'll hear it all again and it's not going to get any better. And so let's compare that with Obama's interview with O'Reillly where O'Reilly interrups the president about 30 times. But Obama doesn't try to rip his mic off did he? That's how you separate the big leagues from the senile old mutts.
  17. When or if the racist attack against Ron Paul subsides and his popularity doesn't decline, will that then say something about Ron Paul supporters themselves?
  18. It's not christian hating anymore than it's witchcraft hating or Muslim hating. It's bringing to the attention of decent people that christianity is poisoning our societies. And your attempt at separating the conservative right from christianity fails. Or was it more of a cleverly disguised ad hom attack on me? Were you referring to me as a 'christian hater'? a 'hater'? I consider myself a rational and truthful person who is pretty good at ferreting out the hate. The right will never be able to run away from it's christian. It practically owns it!
  19. Will Canadians sit around being content to see Harper bring our country to ruins for as long as Americans sat on their hands and watched Bush2 bring down their country? Probably, and add to that the dictatorial measures being slipped in by Harper to prevent the voters from bringing him down. The rabid right won't rest until they have destroyed every social program that is good and they have 99% of the people in desperation to survive.
  20. The problem isn't witchcraft, it's just relgion rearing it's ugly head again. It wasn't the witch that caused harm to others. But in truthfulness, given a chance the witch probably could have. It's a sky fairy belief again. Witchcraft is no more whacko than belief in sky fairies or believing that the earth is young. Neither witchcraft, christianity, or Islam are guilty of any crimes in themselves. It's the crimes that they all lead people to commit that's the problem. These days, especially christianity with the slaughter of a million or more Iraqi people on false and trumped up charges.
  21. Tell us why if you want to pursue it further. In my opinion, and that's of course putting aside supernatural religious sky fairy beliefs, there's no reason to be torn. The rest of the civilized first world excepting your country are taking the right approach.
  22. And then immediately after saying something sensible in your previous post you turn around and relate an isolated case to us in order to make the opposite point. This is the trouble with the US attitude. Those people will search for examples such as this in order to influence the small minds of christians and the christians will just eagerly eat it all up. Of course rehabilitation doesn't work all the time and it's inane to suggest it does. That shouldn't even need to be said but apparently it does need to be said around here!
  23. There's wisdom in what you say and so credit is due. However, when you say society is unlikely you are talking more about the US screwed up system. In Canada society is much more likely to devote the necessary services. And so the US pays the price many times over for it's lack of attention to the problem. I also repeat, it's got a lot to do with the christian dogma in the US and it's rabid attitude toward punishment. A worthwhile exercise would be in investigating how christianity poisons the US system. We could look at systems where incarceration rates are very low and we would most likely find far less belief in sky fairies in those countries. Or Americans could just rule that out and not care. The latter is most likely.
  24. The ironic thing about this whole thing is that some people would take a 4 year old baby who has accidentally blew away his daddy with his daddy's sixgun and put the baby in jail for the crime. Then when that baby reached the age of 19 they would find him guilty of murder and subject him to a lethal injection for the crime of first degree murder. No, don't scoff at what I say, it's true. Never underestimate the evilness and ugliness of the hardcore christian. They will readily and easily find a way to accuse a child of being possessed by the devil. And they'll make it stick too! Yep, selfsame rabid righties who would accuse stem cell researchers of genocide. Go figure!
  25. Well clearly boges, you're not keeping up with me. 'Clearly', I am not the least bit interested in entertaining any ideas that are even remotely similar to what is happening in the land of the gun to our south. So let's make it simple for you. Rehabilitation is the only socially responsible route to take with a 19 year old. Even most third world countries have that one figured out by now. To suggest anything else is just not on my radar. In fact I find it quite repulsive and ignorant!
