These are the kind of fanatics that Trotsky brainwashed to send them to churches, synagogues and places of worship to tell them: Priest, Rabbi time to close down, we are living in a new enlightenment world.2 points

We have to analyze how come this individual reached this certain point of anger and unwilling to reason. It goes back to the responsibility of the media , the horrible video of the criminal cop was playing non stop at every TV station. I walked into a pizza shop to get some wings, there it was and everyone watching, the subway messages and videos, there it was. Repetition, Repetition, Repetition. Combine that with unemployment and the lock down, it is a recipe of disaster. It all goes back to simple economics. It is a huge demand to find racists however the supply it is not coming through as expected. So, some in the media took it upon themselves to create an artificial supply. I don't know if it is planned or not, I highly doubt it but while we are looking at police reform, rightfully so, we should look at the media reform. Because if we keep waiting on that evidence like some member suggested we might be so divided there is no turning back. I personally think they are laughing in Moscow and Beijing to what is happening in the West.1 point

Yes, I know, don't confuse me with some individuals that always say is about the investors and corporations. As far as I am concerned the media should have a moral duty to society and to benefit the individual. The media follows the same pattern as the universities, in their pursuit for some good causes they allowed mediocrity to creep in, if the brain does not have the capacity to learn let's say physics or maybe you are not good hands on in the trades ... What do you do ? You go to university on your parents money taking statues down in the name of diversity after which you get a job as a journalist.1 point

I note that Facebook, which has been assailed as the home of 'hate speech' and which has been subjected to a boycott from a lot of virtue signalling companies, including major corporations, has agreed to modify its censorship rules. Now just to start we all know Facebook already censors a lot of content, as do almost all social media organizations. Virtually all of that content is on the Right. There is no brake on how far to the Left you can go and still be welcomed by social media. Hard line radical Marxists are embraced. Anti-white rhetoric is fine. Anti-capitalism, anti-Christianity are no problem. Nor do they even try to disguise this. As one person amply demonstrated when they created a pair of accounts and posted identical content, but simply changed the words 'white' for 'black', then made complaints about both. The hateful comment towards whites was fine. The hateful comment towards blacks resulted in an account suspension. And as I said, it wasn't like Facebook was a free-for-all or anything near it. It already banned any racist content. It's not like the KKK or some openly white supremacist organizations had accounts. The organized boycott gave almost no examples of hate speech on Facebook. But what seems to have incensed them was that they refused to censor Trump. Now I don't like Trump myself, but if no one has a problem with social media excluding politicians because their words offend the Left then there's a major threat here to freedom of speech, not to mention to Democracy. And that's the real issue. Much of the Left no longer believes in freedom of speech, except where that speech is in agreement with their doctrine. And too many of them are coming out of university claiming speech that offends them is 'violence' and has to be suppressed. Now that belief is strong enough that the corporate world is embracing it out of fear of being boycotted themselves. I can see a time not that far in the future where no comments, no beliefs that go against the prevailing Leftist doctrine are even permitted on social media.1 point

Nonsense. The phrase "whites are the slaver drivers of the human race and blacks are the sole victims" is a subjective statement or opinion. Wes then took thissubjective statement which is clearly defective as it generalizes an entire category of individuals defined by an ambiguous term preventing true identification of that group and any similar characteristics and counters it not with facts but more subjective generalizations equally as irrational. His comments are not fact nor are they "truth". Of course he responded to the original statement because he thought it was unfair. That is precisely why he and you and Argus responded as you did. You think the statement is unfair. A subjective statement can not be true. It has no facts. Until it is presented with objective facts its neither true or untrue, its just a speculated subjective opinion. Wes advanced the concept of white pride in response to this subjective statement which is an emotional response and emotional responses are based on emotion not rational thought process. Please provide the specific arguments that show I am incorrect. Don't just say they are incorrect. You disagree with them that is your absolute right but at least make an effort to debate them. Finallym the only divisive comments on this thread are the statements feeling the need to counter a clearly defective subjective opinion about race with others that do the same thing. I have argued the thread is about taking a divisive racist statement and responding to it with racist statements. Both are equally as pointless and show in your response in particular as well as the other responses you, Argus and Wes are caught up in divisive, emotional, subjective generalizations about others.1 point

I know, we'll just treat it like the flu. People are killed by that all the time and we don't call the cops.1 point

Killed after falling asleep at a drive through is about as disingenuous and intellectually dishonest as it gets.1 point

The problem as we can see here is that arguing with deniers makes them think their ideas are on the same level as a scientist who studies the topic. It's no different than arguing with Holocaust deniers and Armenian genocide deniers. They aren't interested in coming to a consensus academically. They simply want a platform to disseminate their lies as widely as possible to convince as many people as possible. It's political not scientific.1 point

You sure? Its a pretty old word that can mean a lot of things. Ancient Greek's invented it and to them it meant "affairs of the cities".1 point

The country has been changing since 1776. Correlating such changes specifically to who is president is very problematic, because many other factors are in play. Presidents can influence domestic and foreign policy, but the story arc is more consistent with social, economic, and political change regardless of who is president. LBJ actually continued many JFK initiatives (e.g. space program). As an example, Barack Obama was against same-sex marriage for personal (religious) and political reasons, but "evolved" to attack DOMA by the 2008 campaign. Social development overshadowed whatever the president believed or mandated through policy. Hoping that Trump dies in office ignores many other nuts and bolts that would remain from the same machine.1 point

Betsy, according to Greg and Charles these points do not mean anything, you can accumulate an unlimited amount with out any action taken against you. or so they say... Not sure why they bother issue them if they do not count or mean anything... It depends in what mood Charles is in at the time, because there is no consistency to them at all, so when he gets a little crampy he hands a few out, it's his way of proving to the world he is alive and he has the shinny star ...."I am the law" see me roar....1 point

Allegations of sexual assault is not the topic...racism is the topic...and your prime minister is the proven and self-admitted blackface leader, not just allegations.1 point

Bonnie Henry is probably the most respected health official on the planet. She is probably the most successful health official on the planet too. I'm bloody thankful I live in a place with a largely intelligent population that apparently knows how to take serious people seriously. I suspect contact tracing will be popular enough in BC it will easily pass becoming mandatory especially for visitors and of course people returning from jurisdictions where people prefer morons over experts.1 point

Obviously it's not overkill. If it were overkill, you would have gotten the message. But you still think it's safe to travel to the shytehole U.S. and bring back the virus with you. So you obviously need to hear the message some more.1 point

He never misses the opportunity to exploit any or all issues to make it about himself for image shots. Its why I really have no time of day for this photo phony. As much as I do not like Trump I am not sure what is worse, a person rude to everyone equally or a guy who selects his moments to pose. You know with Trump its just spontaneous at the moment. Trudeau its scripted. You keep Trump but you can have this idiot.1 point
