The Norwegian MFA flies commercial and boards the plane like ordinary people. He is allowed 120 euros for a hotel room. The Minister of Justice has a simple office and leaves work early to pick up his kids at day care. As the French woman explains, this (Lutheran) simplicity is a guard rail against abuse and means that politicians keep their credibility with the public.
