jbg
At a reception that was decidedly upscale and beyond the reach of the average Democratic voter, Al Gore's daughter got married at a lavish Beverly Hills ceremony. On the menu at the "rehearsal dinner" was the endangered chilean sea bass (link to article about wedding and about fish's endangered status) , for 75 people. If anyone thinks that Al Gore would provide leadership that any sane person could respect, think again. Al Gore's Daughter Sarah Gets Married (link to article) People Magazine (online)SATURDAY JULY 14, 2007 11:30 PM EDT By Ulrica Wihlborg The youngest of Al Gore's three daughters, Sarah Gore, 28, married businessman Bill Lee in Beverly Hills on Saturday, family spokesperson Kalee Kreider confirms to PEOPLE. The bride, who is taking her husband's last name, wore a gown by Monique Lhuillier at the wedding, which took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Willie Nelson performed at the reception, according to a family friend who was there and described it as "a great party." **** "As one person joked during the wedding toasts, global warming helped bring Sarah and Bill together," the family friend tells PEOPLE. The Gore family hosted a rehearsal dinner for 75 family and friends the previous evening at Beverly Hills' Crustacean restaurant, a longtime favorite of the Gores. Executive chef Helene An created a six-course tasting menu that included Chilean sea bass and roasted crab. ****
bush_cheney2004
The true lasting value of Al Gore can be found in mocking Satuday Night Live comedy sketches. Priceless!
Riverwind
was the endangered chilean sea bassYour facts are out of date:http://www.sustainabletable.org/blog/archi...hilean_sea.html The Marine Stewardship Council declared that a small Chilean fishery is now harvesting Chilean sea bass sustainably; Whole Foods now sells Chilean sea bass only from this certified fishery. Guest coot
Still, Gore's daughter's caterer's shopping habits are highly relevant to swift-boat devotees because the truly relevant facts always make them look like idiots.

I think there is a chance that Suzuki will be going outa business soon along with some others. http://www.recorder.ca/cp/National/070715/n071532A.html
capricorn
In your linked article, Elizabeth May said: "Nobody hated him, everybody loved him. That's why it's so inexplicable." Er, I would venture to say he had at least one enemy that we know of. So you figure this will cause Suzuki to lay low? Gore won't be fazed. He thinks he's invincible. He's got to be looking over his shoulder. There's also the money thing and government is suppose to be taking away the non profit status of some of these outfits. Edited July 19, 2007 by B. Guest coot
It's a damn good thing he never became president. Yes, the U.S. would still have a surplus, thousands of dead soldiers would still be alive, Halliburton would only be making moderate profits, the environment would be on its way to recovery, the American dollar would be strong and not comparable to the peso, the U.S. would be safer from terrorism than it is now, and the empire would be growing rather than rapidly falling into the toilet. Your anti-American attitudes are kind of over-the-top though. They are largely a good country. You shouldn't celebrate their failures. jbg
...Halliburton would only be making moderate profits, the environment would be on its way to recovery...Gore is making a pretty penny from Generation Investment Management (link), a company that: (source, Wikipedia article) blends traditional equity research with a focus on sustainability factors, including social and environmental responsibility and corporate governance. Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is chairman of GIM, with David Blood — previously chief executive of Goldman Sachs Asset Management — as managing partner. This pair have given the company its nickname, "Blood and Gore". The November 2004 press release announcing the launch of the firm included the following quote from Gore: I'm delighted to join David Blood in founding this firm. The issue of sustainability has always been a passion of mine. Helping to establish the competitive business advantages of sustainability in an investment context with this exceptional team is a very exciting challenge. Transparency, innovation, eco-efficiency, investing in the community, nurturing and motivating employees, managing long-term risks, and embracing long-term opportunities are integral parts of a company's enduring capability to create value. Business leaders who align their business strategy and technical development with sustainability and social accountability will deliver superior long-term results to shareholders. If Wikipedia is not definitive enough for you, how about this abstract of a McKinsey article (lnk) itself linked from the Company's website (link), in which "Gore and Blood (sic, should be Blood and Gore) also delve into their thinking on how to gain superior returns for investors while integrating sustainability into an investment model". Link to full article, free subscription needed. So much for Halliburton and the environment. Gore appears to have a few infirmities of his own in both the area of financial corruption and his profitable and "convenient" regard for the environment. I could keep going but.... Your link seems to be possibly for and against harvesting the sea bass. At any rate, it is still a bad message for an Al Gore to be cramming his cake hole with a certain fish when it's only been recently harvested with this sustainability. Why not a variety that the environmentalists are not concerned of?
