Two Kings ............ one an ersatz wannabe!

The US didn’t always have a rosy relationship with the UK but we were never acrimoniously separated. Canada though…. You all seem to not understand that and got your self a 25% tariff for transshipping chinesium.

The fact that the  trust deficit has become a problem for the US and its closest allies is undeniable.

In a March 2025 joint survey (Le Grand Continent) that asked Europeans how much trust they have in  14 political leaders, Trump received the 2nd lowest confidence (trust) rating. The only leader to score lower was Putin.

Tariffs are a tax on the domestic population of the US?

Suppose it should be mentioned that SCOTUS deemed the sweeping tariffs imposed by Trump (via IEEPA) were in contravention of the Constitution - and must be refunded?

The US is scared of the burgeoning China potential .................. the US should be.

It is no victory getting a larger share of a shrinking (global) market.

Oh,  forgot......... the US  is transitioning from a consumer market economy to a manufacturing economy.

And the CHINESE applauded. 😁

Not sure how tariffs help ur bottom line .......... ur economy is based on consumerism?

Tariffs, inflation is anathema?

2/3 or the U.S. economy is based on food, services,  vehicles, clothing, housing, etc, etc.

Ya think ya have security in all those items?

I think we're back to imports................ domestic pop. paying more with wages that can't support it.

Charles will change nothing on this horrible mission he must endure. Trump simply despises liberal democracies. He’s far more comfortable with the crooks of the world.

I’ll challenge that. It seems that the liberal democracies like Canada has devolved into nothing more than ideotic mob rule. Elbows up more please! Courage doesn’t mean popular, that’s leadership.

Short term pain, long term gain.

Not for the same reason you’re thinking. We anticipate the Chinese going away this decade for demographic retirement reasons alone. So we would have to rebuild that industrial capacity anyways. Yes that level of capital expenditure is inflationary and even more so when borrowing cost is as high as it is. But we have no other choice. Reshoring is baked in because Europe and Asia aged out. Demographic is destiny.

............ meeting with (true) Royalty gives Trump, 'face' ............ akin  to Vance meeting with Iran's coffee  boy in negotiations? Gives Iran 'face'.

What a fk'n blunder by the Diplomatic Corps!

There is no  Diplomatic  Corp?

We needed a change. The old calculus of subsidizing deadbeat countries doesn’t hold true in today’s geopolitical reality. It’s not justified from an economic or security standpoint. So what else is there other than the “goodwill” you all claim America is losing.

......... the Chinese going  away, OMG, that is hilarious!

China  is  intentionally reducing their  population - where the U.S. is reliant  on immigration  to survive, China is actively working towards a more efficient society ......... they don't need immigration.

Keep in  mind that the U.S.  will be majority-minority by 2040 ...immigration  will have a huge impact on the U.S.  - likely a cultural clash.

These ersatz Americans will  be of color, the U.S. will become a mosaic of cultures ........... and of course,  no real sense of American patriotism

The question is whether they'll be vindictive.

Press 2 for English?

OMG! - Asia aged out - lol 😅

Trump isn’t complicated, he speaks his mind on what he wants for America. Build here and no tariff. That’s the MAGA stance. I understand why you’re all upset, it’s a threat to your lively hood internationally. So invest here lol. You can’t go wrong by betting on the US economy. Unless you want to bet on Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, China and Russia just to “elbows up!”

The fact you can't understand is that this is a public relations showing that the King of the Commonwealth bears no grudge towards the American people and show them their Mor0n in Charge is so ass backwards he likes to emulate a King from before the Magna Carta.

Chuckles would not be stacking the Court, the Parliament, the Media, and the Admiralty with willing sycophants and collaborators to dismantle democracy and grant his every whim.

By 2100, it is projected that 82 million Americans will be of retirement age, which means that a significant number of U.S. citizens of traditional working age will need to support the elderly population. This demographic shift is expected to create a growing demand for social services and support for the elderly as the number of retirees increases dramatically.

The U.S. is undergoing a demographic shift that threatens the future of Social Security and Medicare. Longer lifespans, fewer births and  aging baby boomers are creating a financial crisis that form the backbone of American retirement security.

U assume far too much ......... but I will say that Kanada's social programs are in better shape to care for its citizens than that of the U.S.

OMG - Trumps, Big Beautiful Bill is going to increase the debt by trillions while at the same time reducing access to medical care.

The Social Security system is currently facing significant challenges. The 2025 Trustee Report indicates that Social Security is only eight years away from insolvency ......... other fed programs are also facing insolvency.

Here's the beauty about the PRC - there is no partisan politics.

The governments works on amortization economic schemes that span decades .......... with short term strategies.

They make decisions in the National interest and  not based on the scrapings of oligarchs

Sure but we’re still the first choice in immigration destination and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Don’t mistake a firm grip for a stable grip. Only one man has to die and the entire rotten structure comes crashing down. In China’s case that’s happened oh about 26 times already. And it wasn’t pretty, we’re talking canibals.
