The retaliation to Trumps nationwide gerrymandering push isn't great, but you can't expect Democrats to not fight fire with fire. Newsome's California effort was actually very clever. It was contingent on what happens in TX. If TX does X, we will do Y to counteract it. Put the blame where it belongs.
