1. Both were ambitious.

2. Both lacked charm.

3. Both were cutthroat.

4. Both were in thrall to the British crown.

=====

Carney is arrogant - smartest guy in the room. King was not like that.

Carney speaks decent French. King deferred to a lieutenant.

Carney is Catholic, married to a New Zealander. King was probably gay.

King was born in 1874, the grandson of W. L. Mackenzie. Despite what you read on the Internet, Rockefeller paid for King's  education at Harvard.

Carney was born in 1965. His family paid for his studies at Harvard and then he worked for Goldman Sachs.

Both men are extremely ambitious: I suspect King moreso.

The rumor is King used a crystal ball and regularly communicated with his deceased mother and received inspiration from the ghosts of Laurier and Leo da Vinci. The crystal ball is now found at Laurier House and gets much use........... aha, pseudo divine intervention for Carney's incredible success and popularity.

I heard Carney's mother was a Witch and his Father was from the year 2345 in London. Must be true, it's on the Interweb.

Meanwhile. Milhouse is busy sticking pins in his Carney voodoo Doll.

You mean Canadian Crown, at least where Carney is concerned.

A Conservative stands for God, King and Country

Modern CBC nonsense -Mackenzie King was no fool.

Whatever their sexual orientation, or whether they use their left/right hand to write:

Mackenzie King, like Mark Carney, are smart political operators. Poilievre is not.

I don't think that's exactly fair to him.

He capitalized on the prevailing winds of populism, but timing was not his friend. I don't think he can say he's not smart as much as you can say. He's unlucky.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

King has bragging rights as being the longest serving PM – his strength and ability as a leader was demonstrated in his leadership during times of National crisis. (Depression, WWII – National unity)

Although he wouldn’t be my pick for GOAT (Cdn) he is deserving of great respect and worthy of  a significant chapter in the Nation’s tome of leaders

King was an insider - like Carney.

Both know how to play the game.

Poilievre is no Trump.

He is no Diefenbaker.

It has been my experience that in life, to succeed, you need to know how to 'play the game'.

Arguably, most Canadians wouldn't know who Diefenbaker was, or King, much less their contributions to the country.

Holy fk Batman, Sir John A. MacDonald is being convicted on  historical guilt,  his legacy is that of being a racist, promoting cultural genocide.

Arguably western Canada would have welcomed Manifest Destiny if not for this guy's tenure.

Play the game?

Mulroney? What a guy! A Catholic who speaks English. On the take....

And yet Pierre Trudeau won votes in 1968 among anglo-protestants.

Heck, Laurier did it in 1896.

Wait, our first Roman-Catholic PM was John Thompson.

Her answer?

Hungarians are unstable/revolutionary.

Doubt Canadians ever experienced a political hack with the personal charisma of Trudeau Sr.

Trudeau vs. Stanfield? 😅
