Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) to assess psychopathy

Quote
Criminal courts primarily use the Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) to assess psychopathy, focusing on 20 traits categorized into interpersonal/affective (charm, callousness, remorselessness) and lifestyle/antisocial (impulsivity, criminality) factors. These assessments help determine sentencing, parole, and risk of violent recidivism.

Key Criteria and Components (PCL-R)
The PCL-R evaluates 20 items, typically scored by a professional based on interviews and record reviews. They are divided into two main factors:
Factor 1: Interpersonal/Affective (Emotional Detachment)
  • Glibness/superficial charm
  • Grandiose sense of self-worth
  • Pathological lying
  • Conning/manipulative behavior
  • Lack of remorse or guilt
  • Shallow affect (shallow emotions)
  • Callous/lack of empathy
  • Failure to accept responsibility for actions
  • Factor 2: Social Deviance (Impulsivity/Behavioral)
    • Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
    • Parasitic lifestyle
    • Poor behavioral controls
    • Promiscuous sexual behavior
    • Early behavior problems
    • Lack of realistic, long-term goals
    • Impulsivity
    • Irresponsibility
    • Juvenile delinquency
    • Revocation of conditional release
    • Criminal versatility
Application in Court
  • Purpose: The PCL-R is used to predict risk of violence, inform treatment, and influence sentencing decisions.
  • Context: While the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) focuses on Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), the PCL-R is considered the "gold standard" in forensic settings to identify the specific emotional and interpersonal deficits of psychopathy.
  • Evidence Basis: Assessments often rely heavily on file information, such as police reports, to determine these traits.

A medical practitioner has highlighted the rapid rate of President Donald Trump’s apparent cognitive decline.

During a trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump, 79, confused Iceland with Greenland multiple times, shared private text messages from world leaders, undertook rambling, epic speeches and went on a manic social media posting spree. Upon his return, Trump displayed the worst bruising on his hand yet.

Dr. Vin Gupta, a medical analyst for NBC News and former Chief Medical Officer at Amazon, reflected on the president’s well-documented family history of age-related dementia, claiming he is seeing a “trend line” and that, “it seems like it’s getting worse.”

“The acting out, behavior changes, lashing out, acting unreasonable,”.  “One could say this is his core fundamental personality based on what we’ve seen over, frankly, his entire adult life, but it’s getting worse.”

Is part of the criteria the CONSTANT OVER-USE of CAPS?

Did you see it on the list? If not, then no. LMAO

Who are YOU to decide what is OVERUSE?

Did one of my caps go off in your hand?
