"America is not a racist country," / South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott

The United States National Park Service had begun scrubbing information  from its exhibits about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad; one of the most significant stories of resistance against chattel slavery in the United States. The move would have destroyed knowledge about how oppressed people in the United States have successfully fought for freedom.

The erasure at the Park Service follows President Donald J. Trump’s recent executive order  targeting the National Museum of African American History and Culture for being “divisive.

Well. That's special.

On the contrary ........... any comment re: racism, discrimination  could be considered a segue to a broader discussion.

Some might accuse South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott of being an Uncle Tom, disregarding what the majority of blacks perceive as true to further his political career.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sixty-four percent of Americans believe racism against Black people is widespread in the U.S. This figure ties with the previous reading, in 2021, as the highest recorded in Gallup’s periodic measurements since 2008.

Non-Hispanic Black adults continue to be the most likely to say such racism is prevalent in the country, with 83% expressing this view. / Aug 2025

True or not, perception is reality.

It's pretty glaring when the actions of the C-in-C are  so obviously, racist?

Some people will believe any stupidity. Did you have a point to share of your own or just trying to cowardly say what you think without putting your name on it yourself?

An uncle tom.  One of the more racist accusations out there.  Which definitely says "black people only matter if i agree with them".  Would YOU accuse him of such things?

No, it isn't. For ages it was the common perception that blacks HAD to be slaves because they were too stupid to care for themselves.  Then it was blacks woudn't be able to figure out the complex controls of a fighter aircraft. etc etc.

Common perception is quite frequently at odds with reality.  In fact that's most often the case.

Perception and the ability to 'sell' it is political power.

Take voter fraud for example.

The perception is that it is real.

Politicians at all levels of government have repeatedly, and falsely, claimed the 2016, 2018, and 2020 elections were marred by large numbers of people voting illegally.

Voter fraud IS real they find it in every election in the us and most in canada.  The perception in the US which is what i'm assuming you're talking about is that it's of sufficient volume to influence the outcome of the election.  And for many that's real, for others it's not. But as you're probably alluding to, for those who feel it's substantial, it can lead to very real world consequences, whether it is or it isn't.

actually polling indicates that the losing side mostly feels the election is "rigged" going back to 2000, possibly earlier but we don't have the data.  And both sides are about the same in that regard.   I think that's more 'sour grapes' than anything. But also people don't have faith in their system.

One of the problems though with the american system is there's so many 'holes' in the system that would allow for undetected cheating that even when there's no direct evidence of it, it may well still have happened theoretically.  I think they need to lock that crap down if they're ever going to restore faith.  Canada has had similarly close elections, hell in the last 2 trudeau elections the CPC won the popular vote over the libs and still lost the election, and you don't hear much of the 'election was stolen' nonsense up here.

Elections have to be locked tight against fraud for people to have faith in them and the US has a problem in that regard.

The question at the top is the starting gun for this wacky race to the bottom, and is entirely subjective.  Like asking "do anchovies taste good?"

Morality can be subjective, but there exists, within a community, a middle ground where discussions like that can take place without any but fringe players screaming about morality.

The dimnishment of the white race is not subjective however. Dropping from 30% to 8% of the world in my lifetime is fairly preciptious fall. And it continues.

People already have equal treatment and opportunities. They have what representation they earn or work for, depending on how you define the term.

So that's why i say f-ck you to self professed defenders of the white race. You're not needed or welcome, you're only defending the worst of it. Nothing else.

Sounds like you just hate white people.

What I'm defending are the traditions, culture and values that are the legacy of our ancesters, and largely unknown among other races who came from other places. That includes tolerence, by the way, as ironic as that might seem. Because if you tried to import a huge number of black people into an Asian country or vice versa there'd be civil war and widespread slaughter. Same goes for importing Asians or Blacks into an Arab country, especially if they weren't Muslims.

But white people, Europeans, have a tolerance the rest lack. As do our religions. Our belief in democracy, in science, in justice, in discussion over violence are fairly unique in the world.

And people like you want it all to go so you glory in how 'unracist' you are.

Yes. I'm an extreme leftist, one of those people who can learn and grow up.

Extremists don't learn. They're fanatics by definition. They think they're right and everyone else is either too stupid or just not as moral as they are. It never occurs to them they're just wrong.

There isn't enough money on the planet to "pay back" African Americans for the injustices heaped on them in the past, and still today.

There are no people anywhere who can't look back on a history of oppression and injustice. There's nothing particularly special about Africans

Is it so f*cking hard to figure out? Black people, Asians, indigenous people have something of a history of treatment they share in common. 'White people' don't.

Uhm, yes, they do. Just depends on your timeline.

I have seen the Indian in his forests, and the Negro in his chains, and thought, as I contemplated their pitiable condition, that I saw the very extreme of human wretchedness; but I did not then know the condition of unfortunate Ireland....

True.

Unfortunately,  it was whites who enslaved the Africans here in America.

Im unsure of what your point is.

Are you saying that because others were oppressed,  its understandable how white America oppressed Africans?

Surely you jest.

Although the U.S. was founded on the ideal that "all men are created equal", America is not fully equal in practice. We suffer from high levels of economic, racial, and gender inequality, with wealth heavily concentrated at the top and significant, persistent wealth gaps between white and minority households.

So when you make such an imbicilic statement with such a cavalier attitude, I can only assume that you're a delusional f_ckwit.

You are so right.

If only us white folk would stop f_cking everything that moves, we could keep white folk from turning brown, huh.

But, these f_cking white f_cks will f_ck anything, huh?
