Executive Orders are a great way to do an end run around Democracy.

What amusing is that whenever a Democrat president issues EOs republicans scream that it’s unconstitutional, abuse of power, president is only supposed to be a figurehead or isn’t supposed to enact EOs that are controversial, the founding fathers intended for congress to run the country, and so on. 
 

But then whenever a Republican is elected suddenly he sets a new record for the number of EOs and Republicans cheer that it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread, finally someone is bypassing the swamp, cutting through red tape and congressional deadlock, founding fathers meant for the president to run the country and congress is just for symbolic debates, and so on.
