The f*cking Islamic republic is too bloodthirsty and rule by fear, torture, mass arrests, street shootings and executions. People are also hungry and the regime purposely keep people in deep poverty for its survival. When people are humgry their first goal is to feed themselves and liberty or independence or freedom and rights come next so this strategy has worked so far however, sooner or later the masses will realize death is better than slavery under these f*cking islamic system and will revolve.

Iran is the one of the world’s most ancient states and, like China, has had authoritarian rule almost uninterrupted for many thousands of years. The people in charge may not  know much about providing prosperity or freedom but they are well versed in how to oppress the population. I suspect the regime may loosen its overtly theocratic side and become more like the Ba’ath outfits that used to reside next door. The attack by America and Israel probably strengthened it - everywhere in the world people rally round the flag when foreigners are involved like that.

The Achaemenids were absolute monarchs. While tolerant of ethnoreligious diversity they still ruled with an iron fist otherwise.

And those Arab invaders were lucky to catch the Sassanids at a vulnerable moment in their debilitating wars with the Byzantine Empire. Iran should have stayed Zoroastrian. At the very least it should welcome the Parsees back. They have done so well in India and elsewhere in all sorts of endeavours, eg Cyrus Mistry, Freddie Mercury, and they may soon disappear entirely. Of course, there’s no hope of Islam disappearing but one could hope for a spiritual leader like Sistani in Iraq who seems to generally avoid interfering in politics. Indeed there’s no reason why something like the Ismaili version of Islam couldn’t be more widely adopted that is more compatible with modern life.

Hear hear. The nation of Iran, especially women of Iran will take Iran back from these backward Arab lover invaders and make it Persia again. Iran will not be a Muslim country or nation anymore in 5 to 10 years and together with Israel will be the only democratic country or nation in the Middle East in the 2030's.
