A good rule of thumb is never type anything on a computer that you don't want to read on the front page of the Globe and Mail. There is no such thing as a secure computer connected to the internet. By convention, the Executive puts a resolution before Parliament to declare war. Of course, if Parliament declines to vote taxes to finance the war, the Canadian Forces will not be operational. OK. This is the procedure so far. Quote

Most bills are not long and can be understood by reading the summary or even the title. And some bills should not exist, probably to make the legislators look busy. Quote
Queenmandy85 Posted Saturday at 05:01 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:01 PM (edited) What happens if the government loses a vote, particularly a budget ? Also, what hapens if the citizens vote is in conflict with the advice of the executive? Some bills are based on clacified information which even the leader of the CPC is no allowed to see. How are you going to vote on that? Edited Saturday at 05:05 PM by Queenmandy85 Quote A Conservative stands for God, King and Country
herbie Posted Saturday at 08:55 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:55 PM Gotta say again, if you can't get off your ass and go to a polling station to vote it shows you can't even make that minimal effort and don't deserve a vote at all. Keep stupid ideas like voting with a cell phone or computer to yourself it only reveals how little you care about participation in the process. Quote

You think that national interests should be priority. Others may.think so too. Regarding national defense, strengthening national defense is a way to maintain peace, and reducing the risk of war is also a way to maintain peace. This is why there are arms control treaties. NO...take a close look on our defence file, even you alluded to defence being a important topic when we talk about the nation...and yet here we are our military is on the verge of becoming irrelevant, and it has taken 40 plus years for us to get to this place, and in those years how many times has our security been a national topic, or an election point....none...but you can bet your ass tax breaks were, eaten up like a fat kid with smarties... The majority of Canadians do not see our military as one of the top ten issues in the country.... If anything you posted was true why is our military in it current shape...because Canadians don't give a rats ass, i could list dozens of security issues that canadians could not care about...let alone the other federal departments that are broken....and need fixing... What you write sounds good on paper, but Canadians are not there right now. Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

The problems you mentioned were created under the current parliamentary system and cannot be solved under the current parliamentary system. Since the current parliamentary system can’t solve it, why not try mobile voting and direct democracy to solve it? Quote
