It's really more of a story time with DOGE, but it is very enlightening. The Institute for Peace has a cache of weapons, was paying the Taliban and deleted 1TB of data to avoid scrutiny. The government retirement paperwork is finally on a computer (no more shopping carts with paperwork). The Department of Education was renting stadiums and Ceasar's Palace for parties (but stopped when receipts were required).

There is more. It is amazing what they are finding and stopping. I can't wait for the referrals and trials to begin.

For all the theatrics, chaos, costly economic uncertainly, and privacy violations caused by the entire DOGE stunt, the actual budget savings is practically nonexistent. Has there even been $1 billion in savings from anything (let alone fraud and waste)? Literally everything trump and musk teams have claimed about DOGE savings has so far turned out been a lie.

If you have to ask if there was even 1 billion in savings, how are you able to proclaim the savings were practically nonexistent?

Because the maybe 1 billion is half of a percent of what they claimed they were going to be able to do and more like a negligible quarter of a percent of actual federal spending.

I'm questioning whether even a billon in savings has been confirmed. I don't need a source to ask a question lol.

What we do know is that the doge bs has been wasteful--taxpayers paying hundreds of millions to fire and rehire tens of thousands of people. 75,000 buyouts involving 8 months of full pay and benefits (while doing no work). Meanwhile cutting 40% of the IRS which will mean hundreds of billions in lost revenue from lack of enforcement of tax law. And these are just a few simple direct costs.
