Prime Rogue Inc Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 Hey there! My name is Kevin and I'm the President of Prime Rogue Inc - we're a Calgary-based holdings firm specializing in AI and intelligence. I am absolutely not here to sell anything and I think this is compliant with forum rules. Long-story short, I've written a piece where I argue that cutting off potash supplies to the US is our most viable pathway to balancing Trump in relation to the tariffs. The argument is that the downstream effects of a Potash cutoff would be quite catastrophic for the American farming industry. I'm finding that a lot of Canadians and Americans either don't know what potash even is or think it's too extreme. I'm wondering if I'm the one being made delirious by anger at the Yanks or if I'm in the right ballpark. My full deep-dive is linked below and I'd appreciate any thoughts! Cheers, Kevin https://primerogueinc.com/blog/the-potash-war-how-canada-can-cripple-u-s-agriculture-and-force-a-reckoning 1 Quote
ExFlyer Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 OK, considering 80% of the potash goes to the US and the largest consumer of potash is China and we seemed to have pissed off both of those countries, now what?? Just saying sell and ship to someone else is not as easy as saying it. It can take years to get trade deals with other countries and in the meantime....what?? It is always easy to complain and say things but the reality hammer must come down. Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

No doubt the US and China are saying we'll just get potash from someone else but won't it take as long to get trade deals with other suppliers? Canada is the world's largest producer of potash, an alkaline potassium compound used in fertilizers. In 2022, Canada produced 38% of the world's potash, which was about 24.6 million metric tons. Canada has the world's largest potash reserves, with 1.1 billion tonnes of potash The Canadian province of Saskatchewan has the world's largest potash reserves Russia and Belarus are the second and fourth largest potash producing countries, respectively. So, if China and US wants to deal with them...then go ahead LOL (China might :)) Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Americans see Canada the way Canada sees a country like Bahrain. Its just impossible for them to conceive of it as a real threat in any scenario. 1 hour ago, ExFlyer said: Canada is the world's largest producer of potash, an alkaline potassium compound used in fertilizers.
