Just in case you weren't aware, this war had been going strong for 985 days before Trump got elected. 

The war changed its trajectory from

1. "33 months of war with no peace in sight, month after month after month after month, and year after year" to
2. "peace talks happening between Russia and Germany, and Ukraine and the US, in less than half of one month". 

Seeing patterns takes intelligence, so I completely understand why you're drawing a blank, but we went from zero progress in 33 months to high-level discussions between the major players in less than 2 weeks.

You're just looking stupid here, User. The things that I am saying are completely plain to see. No peace talks whatsoever in 33 months to the leaders of Germany, the USA, Russia and Ukraine all talking about ending the war in less than 2 weeks.

• Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says he is certain the war with Russia will “end sooner” than it otherwise would have once Donald Trump becomes US president.

  Zelensky said he had a “constructive exchange” with Trump during their phone conversation after his victory in the US presidential election.

In response to Biden telling Zelenski to go ahead and use American long-range missiles to strike targets deep within Russia, the Russians launched a large missile/drone attack on Ukraine, and then Macron piped up with:

• French President Emmanuel Macron said that the major Russian air strike on Ukraine on Sunday showed that Vladimir Putin was not seeking peace.

With dummies like Macron and Biden running their mouths, there's still a real risk of this war spiralling out of control before Trump can limit the damage. 

Macron isn't up for re-election until 2027, so it will be interesting to see how well he and Trump get along.

  He has pledged to bring the war to an end "in a day". He has not said how he will achieve this. Would it involve ceding Ukrainian land to Russia? Almost certainly.

  And so, it is logical that over the next two months both sides will want to make as many territorial gains as they can before the frontline is frozen. In the case of Ukraine, it may now simply be about holding the line - in part with the American mines.

It's a sentiment that has been echoed by many. There's even been said that biden is actually helping trump's end game by allowing the ukrainians to put as much pressure on the Russians right now as possible while the Russians know that as soon as trump gets in they can probably end this with some net gains without having to resort to nukes.

If you crane can do real damage to Russia's Military or weaken their position substantially or even take back a small amount of land it will probably make the negotiations go faster when trump steps up. Or at least that's the thinking. I noticed trump hasn't come out and spoken against this.

I kind of wonder if there wasn't a little bit of back door talking between Trump and Biden on this. Even if the Russians take a lot of hits trump can step in and say "Whoa whoa whoa, that was the other guy and we're finally rid of him so no more of that crap, but I think we can all agree this needs to end"

It's actually really tough to say what's going on, even going back as far as the beginning of the war.

Biden clearly instigated it, but maybe it was a thing of brilliance:

• if his goal was to have Russia waste away a huge chunk of their regular army, while not exactly achieving world-beating gains, it worked
• Was the wasting of Russia's resources and military worth the cost in lives to Biden et al? Certainly. I don't think he cares or he would have been trying to end the war
• Did Ukraine just end up being a proving ground for old tech that the US military industrial complex wanted to drive up the prices on? 
• How does all this US spending on military aid work? If the US "gives" $50B in aid to Ukraine, does that mean that they spent $50B on new weapons that are being created by Raytheon, etc, and Raytheon gave Ukraine $50B worth of old shit? I assume it does, but I don't know. 
• How much money did congressmen make on their military industrial complex shares? And how many of their relatives get hired there every time the US makes another big arms purchase?

At the end of the day, it could be that the US has a completely revamped arsenal and the prices of the old stuff that they are selling to big spenders like Saudi Arabia is now sky-high, while the Russians can only sell their crap to Somalia and Pakistan. The cost, in terms of lives, is meaningless to Joe.
