Should the Chiefs rest Mahomes and go with Wentz, or should they try to run the table, and go 16-1? They don't need to go 16-1; they need to go 15-2 or less, depending on if the Bills keep winning. I think Mahomes plays. I think they win. The question is, do they sit everyone on Christmas? 1 Quote

NAME REMOVED Posted December 22, 2024 Author Report Posted December 22, 2024 Lions are destroying Chicago, and the Eagles are thrashing Washington. Looks like both teams will improve to 13-2. The Vikings have an important game against Seattle, and look to stay in the hunt. Quote

NAME REMOVED Posted December 23, 2024 Author Report Posted December 23, 2024 Vikings hold off the Seahawks 27-24. Minnesota is now 13-2, tied with the Detroit Lions for 1st in the Conference. The Eagles blew a 2 TD lead, and were knocked off by Washington, so they are 12-3. It is now going to come down to the last game of the season to see who wins the division, and possibly the NFC #1 seed between Minnesota and Detroit. Quote
impartialobserver Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 In the pantheon of sports, no franchise has demonstrated ineptitude like the Detroit Lions. Decade after decade of never being a true Super Bowl contender. Great players but never a complete team. Just this one year, I am rooting for Detroit to make it to a Super Bowl. Next year.. be whatever it may be. Quote

Next year.. be whatever it may be. Well.... As a lifelong Vikings fan, I can tell you that I have become used to disappointment. The Vikings are the best team (by far), to never win the Super Bowl, as they are in the top 3 or 4 NFL teams in the last 60 years, in terms of winning percentage. Unfortunately, Minnesota has lost four SUper Bowl games between 1970-77. Since then the Vikes have been in the NFC championship 4 times (1988,1999,2010, and 2018). I hope this will finally be the year they win it all....but I am not holding my breath. PS....about the Lions. It's a shame they never won anything with Barry Sanders in the 00s. He deserved better. MIN has been to those 4 NFC championship games and been fairly close 3 of those times. DET has been to two (2023 and 1991) and the latter was not even close. They have had great players; Lomas Brown, Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, Ezekiel Ansah, Ndamukong Suh, Matthew Stafford. And yet until 2023.. never a serious contender unlike MIN which has been been 5 or 6 times since 1980. I will say that MIN needs to open up the bank and pay Sam Darnold. Let JJ McCarthy go. Kevin O'Connell has rehabbed his career and not sure that Darnold will perform this well for someone else. They have a known commodity who works well with the coach, OC, and the current players. Only upgrade that i would make is Blake Brandel at LG. While he grades out OK, That would make them unstoppable on offense. Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted December 26, 2024 Author Report Posted December 26, 2024 The Chiefs beat the Steelers 29-10, and are now 15-1. This is the best record in KC history, and one of the best seasons for any NFL team. Pittsburgh drops to 10-6. Quote

NAME REMOVED Posted December 29, 2024 Author Report Posted December 29, 2024 The big game this week will be the Vikings-Packers contest in Minneapolis. It's not a massive deal if the Vikings lose (they can still win the Conference next week with a win in Detroit). Green Bay will wrap up the #6 seed if they win. Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted December 29, 2024 Author Report Posted December 29, 2024 Sam Darnold with another excellent game. Looks like the road to the NFC #1 seed, is going to go through Detroit next week. Quote

NAME REMOVED Posted January 5 Author Report Posted January 5 Exciting games this week. Philadelphia won, clinching the #2 seed with a 14-3 record. Chicago kicked a game winning FG, to defeat the Packers who drop to the #7 seed. Washington wins in the last minute against Dallas, and will clinch the #6 seed. Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted January 5 Author Report Posted January 5 (edited) The Tampa Bay Bucs win 27-19 over the Saints. The Bucs clinch the division title, and make the playoffs. They will finish in the #3 seed, if the Rams lose. Edited January 5 by DUI_Offender Quote
NAME REMOVED Posted January 6 Author Report Posted January 6 NFL Standings: AFC: 1. Kansas City 15-2 2. Buffalo 13-4 3. Baltimore 12-5 4. Houston 10-7 5. LA Chargers 11-6 6. Pittsburgh 10-7 7. Denver 10-7 NFC: 1. Detroit 14-2* 2. Philadelphia 14-3 3. Tampa Bay 10-7 4. LA Rams 10-7 5. Minnesota 14-2* 6. Washington 12-5 7. Green Bay 11-6 This format sucks. There is no way a 14 win team should be on the road in the first round, against a 10-7 team. Rams lose, and now will face the loser of the Vikings-Lions game. Quote
