QuebecOverCanada Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 There is a clear correlation in between the price of rent and the number of homeless people. I have seen a clear progression in Montreal in the number of homeless people in the public transit when I use it (seldomly now as I drive to work), and it follows a trend we see in many other areas in the province of Quebec. In Granby, a small town consisting of about only 70 000 people, there is now a tent encampment for the homeless. There was almost no homeless in Granby a few years ago. 1 Quote

Canada has alot of space: surely rent should be low. IME, "homeless" people in Montreal are not on the street because of a lack of money. (I recently was in Asia among some very poor people. Nothing like Quebec.) ===== In Montreal, this is not a problem for the police/ambulance/firemen. We are wasting huge resourses on stupid nonsense. Why? Security. -Single urban woman want to feel save. -911 Unions ask, first responders love the adrenalin -Politicians give the money. Quote

(Why are there so many?) First responder? If you're a guy and you want a woman - firefighter! The young women will vote for the politician who protects her. ====== In Canada, our best protection against idiocy is the cold. Quote
