People. If people aren't working--aren't trying--then they are not ambitious. Fact. They may or may not have dreams or ambitions, sometimes naturally, and sometimes because of a lifetime of negative expectation. It's hard to hold onto dreams when you grow up hearing patriarchal a-holes like Butker telling them you that god wants you to be a housewife.

Here you go again... this thread was about women and the lies you and others keep telling about what Butker said. Along the way, you decided to start demeaning women too.

The fact that you clarify your comments and include your insulting others, too, doesn't change that.

YOU are the one who thinks being a homemaker is not work. These are your demeaning characterizations, not reality.

Homemakers are very hard-working people who are investing in their families.  They have ambitions and dreams, they are just not the ambitions or dreams YOU expect of them.

Yet again, here is the irony, Butker was encouraging women, you are the one here telling them what they should be doing, and even dreaming. Talk about hubris. YOU are the person pushing the diabolical lies Butker was talking about.

And again, it's an outright lie to say that I am demeaning women. I have criticized one behavior that can be chosen by persons of any gender.

It is exactly what you are doing and continue to do. Not only are you demeaning them, you are here telling them what they have to dream and what their ambitions have to be.

Its disgusting.

The "diabolical lie".. this implies that women do not know the costs and benefits of pursuing a degree and a career. It also assumes that they will not become mothers and homemakers later on in life. My wife and I waited until she was 36 and I was 40. Waited until both the bachelors and Phd were complete for both of us. A lot of women that I know have the degree/career early on, build up resources/savings, and then when it is time for the kids ease up on the career. They are not mutually exclusive.

Again, fark off, liar. I have not, nor would I, say anything about women other than they are as capable as men of thriving and achieving in this modern world.

And yeah, Butker was "encouraging" them... to forget their shiny new degrees and become housewives.

There's no 'implication' here.  The lie is that being a home maker and a wife and mother is a bad thing. period.

Heres' a clue.  If you have to insert the term 'what you REALLY mean is"  or something similar in to make your point  then you're not being terribly honest.  He said what he really said and what he meant. No 'implications'. No secret message.  "It's fine to want a career but a lot of women here will be excited about being a home maker, wife and mother and that IS a worthwhile and rewarding thing to do for those who choose it. "

That's it. And there's nothing wrong with that statement.

You literally just did.  You made very clear statements about women who make an informed choice that you don't feel is the choice they should have made.

You completely demean women.

I have quoted you and responded to you every step of the way. I am no liar. That is all you can pathetically come up with because you can't do anything else.

And you have already done more than what you claim here about how you have not said "anything about women other than they are as capable as men of thriving and achieving in this modern world. "You just did. If you are so concerned about honesty, look at your own posting here.

Your entire last post was more than that.

Look at you, finally getting a bit more honest about what he was doing, still not all the way there, but using the word encourage is a start. Keep working on the rest.

Hodad:  " I don't demean women! Women should have a choice!!"

Women:  "Ok  i choose to be a mom and a wife".

Hodad': "NOOOOO You STUPID B*TCH!! You're a failure and underachiever!!!!"

Yeah. no demeaning there at all

You are a shameless liar. Utterly false. You cannot quote a single demeaning thing I said about women as a category. Yet you keep repeating it. So, I repeat, fark off.

He has quoted your demeaning comments a dozen times as have others.

But it's a typical leftie move to pretend outrage when called on their own bigoted/racist/misogynist comments.

This is your dumb game, see how dishonest you are with that qualifier of "women as a category"

I have been quite clear with how you are insulting women here. That does not mean all women, that is your absurd strawman game.

That's not dishonest in the least. "Women" is a category. I haven't said anything that could be construed--even creatively construed--against women.

Just like acknowledging that I don't respect liars, a behavior of which you are habitually guilty, is not an attack on the category of men, just because you happen to be a man.

I have repeatedly said that if you want to claim I disrespect homemakers, that's a reasonable claim. But when you say that I disrespect women, that is an outright lie.

So a woman who chooses to stay at home and go through the very difficult task of raising her child providing a home for that child and caring for her family is essentially the same as a liar to you.

And you unironically claim that you have said nothing to meaning about women?

Yes, this is your dishonest game. We all know what we are talking about here regarding how you are demeaning women.

Do you agree with Harrison?

A lot of women seem lost as to what their purpose is. Men, as well.

If having kids isn't for you, then this doesn't apply. Find your purpose, otherwise.

But if I see a woman who doesn't know how to cook, I automatically assume she is useless.

I can cook, bake, sew, fix my own car, do my own repairs, electrical work, etc etc etc.

I have dated women who wanted a man making 6 figures or near it, or making enough to support her.

So, he supports you, buys you a car, fixes it, and you think your p***y will be enough to keep him with you?

Make yourself valuable.

Breasts. Vagina. Not valuable. All women have them.

What do you bring to the table? Job skills? Seriously?

My guess is that one of the motivations behind this speech is the well known reality that women are having fewer children. Going to see some changes at the macro level due to this declining birth rate and as a result.. declining population in some states (Wyoming, West Virginia) with some very close behind (Alaska, Alabama, and Mississsippi).

There is absolutely no need to guess at the motivation of this speech. Once again you are attempting to create things that don't exist to fit your own agenda.

The motivation for this speech was the fact that a lot of people out there have been saying it is wrong for women to choose to be wives and mothers in their communities and build their homes and communities instead of going out and trying to become executives. And he wanted to say that it was okay.

That's it, thanks for playing, and he's 100% right it is absolutely okay for a woman to do that if that's what she wants to do. It's not an easy job, it doesn't make her less of a woman, it's not being lazy, and it is absolutely a rewarding and fulfilling thing to do. A woman may choose to do other things, but if she chooses to do this she has chosen well.

There's no hidden message, there's no dog whistle, there's no secret ulterior motive, this guy believes in the idea of raising families in a traditional sense and he said so.

That's why I said, "guess". You have absolutely no idea what he was thinking during or before the speech. Guess what? Neither do I. Words are subjective and there is no way to fully know someone's motivations.

As to my actual point.. I think that we are going to see a shift in the overall social narrative as birth rates stay at their current level or decline. West Virginia has already made some major changes to how they operate due to depopulation.
