Hicksey Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I hear you shoop. Talk about someone that's tolerant to people with views other than their own, eh? Shhhh Hicksey,Chimera will accuse you of *semantics* obliquely threaten to *beat you* than try to backtrack from his threat. Still no apology for the neanderthals, sexist and socially backwards comments. Interesting how it is fair to call someone *backwards* just because they hold different views from you. Politically correct people must not be able to understand one can use the word whore without sexual connotation. I'll give you it was a strong word. But for someone to go from running for the conservative leadership to taking a Liberal cabinet post inside 6 months, its the only word to adequately describe it Quote "If in passing, you never encounter anything that offends you, you are not living in a free society." - Rt. Hon. Kim Campbell - βIn many respects, the government needs fewer rules, but rules that are consistently applied.β - Sheila Fraser, Former Auditor General.
Wilber Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 "Then I went on to say "you're probably still wondering why central Ontario and Toronto voters think big "C" Conservatives like you are social neanderthals". Now, in case you haven't been paying attention lately, there has been a fair amount of discussion on here as to the "stupidity" of Ontario (and Toronto in particular) voters because they refuse to vote for the conservatives. One of the main reasons for that is that these voters are social liberals. Comments attacking MP's as whores (even if not meant in a sexual way) make the perpetrators seem anti-women. This does not go over well with ontario voters. They see these people as social neanderthals..." Yes and if Ontarians were the only ones voting in this election we would have a Liberal majority. When some one robs my house, I change the locks and I don't give them another key. What do Ontarians do? See ya in a few days. Quote "Never trust a man who has not a single redeeming vice". WSC
sage Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Chimera, you and the rest of the lib's use this whore comment for whatever prupose you want. Categorize all Conservstive as sexist if you want. Its all bullshit. None of you "politically correct" dipshits were "disgusted" when Liberals were calling Deborah Grey a pig in the house of commons. Just keep using a double standard whenever it suits you. The hypocrisy of the liberal mindset never ceases to amaze me. Quote

That person doesn't have to sell themselves sexually to be a whore. Selling out one's idealogy or integrity is just as bad. The term as used generally refers to selling a large part of one's being out for personal or monetary gain. fellowtraveller Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 This thread is hilarious, several posters arguing about a potential insult... Just think what would happen if there were an actual insult! Oh wait, the answer to that is ...nothing would happen. Doncha just love cyberspace? Quote The government should do something.
fixer1 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Shoop Why would you go off on some one that has said he would fight those who would denigrate his family. I can tell you That I would not hesitate coming down on someone who would do so in my presence. Is it that hard for you to understand. I am getting old now, but still I would never put up with those who pick fights. I have in the past stood my ground and got shot at helping to protect a disabled man in a wheel chair and his escort, in downtown Toronto back in 1980. Even though I could have lost my life that night, I still would do it again, as it was a cause worth the fight. You seem to want to pick fights. I like to prevent them went I can. So please do not paint people who have decency standards, and goad them into a fight. It is not right and shows a lot of basic immaturity on your behalf. Quote
Hicksey Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 What's the matter there shoopy, missed that little prerequisite there. Now, I am not by nature a violent person, however i do have a temper. If you call my wife/daughter/sister a whore, that will set it off. The point that I was making, and I do believe Sage understood it, is that it doesn't matter how you intend a remark. What matters is how it is received. Try telling your mother/wife/girlfriend tonight that she looks phat. Wait for the reaction, then tell her you meant phat with a "ph". See what I'm getting at. Well, probably not. Anyway, the way these comments (including wanting to see her naked, how come no-one has said they want to see Petey boy naked?) are tossed around flippantly here leads me to believe that the originators seem to think of women as second-class. Then you complain when the toronto media portrays big "C" conservatives as sexist and socially backwards. You can't have it both ways. You can receive a comment however you want. But don't expect people not to take exception when you go off calling people names over what ended up being your misunderstanding of the comment at hand. Kim Campbell - βIn many respects, the government needs fewer rules, but rules that are consistently applied.β - Sheila Fraser, Former Auditor General.
shoop Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Hmm, I was pointing out the basic hypocrisy in Chimera's post. If you want to pick on somebody and threaten them with violence for using a word they don't like have the balls to do so when you aren't hidden behind your computer screen. Why are you calling me immature? I stood up to Chimera for his tough talk threatening to *beat* people for using a name he didn't like. He than questioned my intellectual ability to comprehend his higher level points. That arrogance is pretty sad. Was his behaviour mature? How exactly was I the one who started the fight? What is wrong with the standard of decency that the laws, and not a resort to violence by one's own standards of decency? Do you find no fault with any of Chimera's posts? ShoopWhy would you go off on some one that has said he would fight those who would denigrate his family. I am getting old now, but still I would never put up with those who pick fights. uOttawaMan Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 This is why you should have voted NDP... Quote "To hear many religious people talk, one would think God created the torso, head, legs and arms but the devil slapped on the genitals.β -Don Schrader

I have a quick question about Ottawa that I wanted to ask you but you haven't been awhile... Does the law school offer civil law degrees like McGill and U of T or not??? BTW: Sens are going down tonight (I hope... ) Quote "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." -Alexander Hamilton
kell2784 Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 I notice that the wording "whore" and "Belinda" seem to go hand in hand....but look at the reactions people tend to have: sexist, bigot, etc... etc... A more transparent term, and notwithstanding insulting anyone, is to call Ms. Stronach an opportunist. Plain and simple. When this political fad passes, her attention will be turned elsewhere. When her father passes on, so will his powerful ambitions that are being lived vicariously through her. Quote
BubberMiley Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I don't even think she's much of an opportunist. She had a chance to be leader of the CPC within the next few years--she won't get that with the Libs. I think she just didn't get along with Harper. kell2784 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Bubber......there are a lot smarter people than her to run for the CPC leadership. I'll be honest, she didn't even have a chance at it. Have you ever seen the clip of her being ignored in a debate because of her poor french?? She might as well as well as starting filing her nails. Quote
BubberMiley Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I would agree that a woman won't lead the CPC in my lifetime. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
tml12 Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 I would agree that a woman won't lead the CPC in my lifetime. Who had the first female leader? The Liberals? NDP? The anti-female Conservatives? Quote "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." -Alexander Hamilton

Thanks for the Ottawa info...I am thinking about doing a law degree but I want to make sure it is recognized in my home province (we only do civil law here). I HATE the Leafs (as you may imagine).
