Or force voters to wear body cams when they vote so we know for sure.

CdnFox,

I am not asking anyone to show who they vote.

Well why not? I mean according to you they should be proud of having to prove they voted, why not who they voted for? Shouldn't they be forced to be proud of that too?

Either people have a right to be anonymous about whether they voted or not or they don't, and if they don't then why not know everything.

Marking the thumbs was never about proving you voted out of pride, it was preventing people from double-voting. I think we can trust our people more than that.  You can stick YOUR thumb wherever you like but leave other people alone.

It is a secret ballot: a secret choice

But the signal/fact of voting is different.

America is great. People vote freely.

Why? If you're proud of voting why wouldn't you be proud of who you voted for? Force them to prove who they voted for, red thumbs if it's liberals and blue thumbs if it's conservative. If you're going to demand that people demonstrate that they vote why wouldn't you demand who they voted for? Either you respect the privacy of the voter or you don't

A purple thumb held high? It merely shows that I am proud of voting - secretly.

Other fingers? As you wish.

Of course, in the modern world,

You can't say that you're proud of doing something secretly when you are saying it publicly. That is literally not how secretly works.
